When you are shopping for a dishwasher, what would be the features that would be most important to you? We were focused on price mostly, but even at that we still ended up getting a lot of great function! If you liked this video, you might like this Frigidaire Induction Range Review: th-cam.com/video/_1Yax4m-wok/w-d-xo.html.
One thing I insisted upon was the control panel on the FRONT of the door instead of on the top. I've never liked the controls hidden. Actually, I think it would be harder to keep clean as well.
All those mentioned before are good must haves but I missed my dishes dried at the end of each cicle. With my old dishwasher all I had to do was putting my dry dishes away. Now I have one more chore, that is to dry them up time every time I have a load. If I have to use that extra fun, how is that energy efficient. 😥
This was an excellent review, I picked this unit up a few days ago after my current dishwasher's pump failed. Your review and the recommendation from the sales person at my local appliance store, this is the unit I chose. I
Just bought this dishwasher and based on your recommendation I kept the superior bottom rack from our old dishwasher, fit perfectly. So far very happy.
Actually if you are the kind of person that doesn't like using automatic dish washing machines, for hand dishwashing, an automatic dishwasher does work phenomenally as a dish drying rack
For those struggling with the best way to put cups and bowls on the middle rack, look in the manual. There is a optimal layout that works really well, especially for the bowls.
I just bought a slightly upgraded version of this one (better rack rollers). Otherwise this was an extensive feature demonstration. Thanks for saving me the read of the manual. This is extremely helpful.
@@JoesPhenomenal yeah. Also I thought I was upgrading to an LG from a Samsung. After looking at this thing up close it’s clear they are they same company.
They're direct competitors, so they're stuff all ends up looking really similar... Fun fact, if you remember Zenith, LG owns them now. I grew up with Zenith tvs.... Brings me back to the olden days.
@@JoesPhenomenal oh yeah! But I think it might be more like RCA and JVC. I mean exact same parts. Same hose clips. Same electrical boxes. Same wires. Same location and hardware for inlet valve. Same inlet valve design. Same insulation. Same reservoir designs. It’s incredible. Just a few cosmetic design changes.
Thanks Joe! I had a terrible time trying to figure out if this washer was Wi-Fi enabled or not. You answered my question perfectly. Thanks for the great video
Great video, Joe! Informative and thorough! I just came from store looking at this model.... Just in looking, wouldn't think to consider dish configurations...so, an eye opener there...1st hand it looks good - your vid help to round it all out. Thanks for making this video! It confirmed my thoughts for it. My biggest issue now is hauling the old one away!
Sure... The LG tends to have the tines just really close together. The ways around that that I have seen other than just having a different layout are removable rows or tines... There are some that let you adjust width, and also some that are reversable or can be flipped down flat. A lot of the newer dishwashers have the rack bottoms at steeper angles too which positions the contents more on an angle so you don't get any standing water on the tops.
Great balanced review. I will point out that the owners manual had suggested layouts for loading the upper rack. It's not the traditional system found in many other washers, which may explain some of the frustration. The layout works really well, especially with Corningware/Corelle bowls. With the 3rd rack, we can easily fit a twice what we got in our Whirlpool, and not compromise cleaning. I wanted to point this out since it was actually a plus for me. Also love how quiet it is. Only complaint is that it can cause an odor from the drain if not cleaned regularly. The kitchen sink smelled really bad until I pinpointed it coming from the dishwasher drain. Now making sure to run a clean cycle as recommended.
My Maytag from 2014 has a tiered upper rack. I hate it but live with it. It's such a pain to have one side low and the other side high... Watching the uploader mess around with loading I was imagining how I would load stuff I have in it... It seems so weird to have that big center gap in the middle bottom rack on this one... but I'm thinking I could work with that... I think it would just be getting used to different configurations that you're used to...
Great review! When we built our house about 7 years ago we got all LG appliances and for the most part we've been happy. The big complaints we have were the quality of the fridge (died after 6 years) and the dishwasher (loud, spring replacements 3x)
Yeah... the direct drive thing is probably supposed to be their fix for that... Refrigerators have been a big problem it seems lately... especially the ones with the icemaker in the fridge area instead on down in the freezer.... Our Samsung is atrocious with that.
Mine usually lasts about 3 or 4 weeks, and we run it every day. Is it new? Have you asked LG about that? Something def. not right if you're going through it that fast.
I have learned something due to a failure in my dishwasher (which is a Maytag).. My rinse aid dispenser started leaking which caused me to STOP using rinse aid...My solution I found actually works BETTER...I bought a small clip fan that I keep in the kitchen and when the dishwasher is done... I open it.. give racks a shake... put the clip fan directing air inside the dishwasher...go back to do other stuff and about an hour later dishes are pretty bone dry..... turn clip fan off, clip it back where I keep it.. unload dishwasher...I've gotten so used to doing this that the next dishwasher I get.. .I'm not going to use rinse aid or the dry cycle at all.... (I keep the clip fan super clean)
@@shirleyervin9182 No clue ... but the last 2 whirlpool dishwashers I've had... first one lasted just over 9 years...leaked around the 5 year mark... and this Maytag (now over 10 yrs old) still working fine... started also leaking around the 6 year mark.. same exact thing... but I'm OK with it since I've learned I don't even need rinse aid.
Since it doesn't have an actual heated drying feature, that door does stay a little wet sometimes. It dries with residual heat and a fan. Works a lot better than I expected it to though. Also it depends on what's in there. Plastics don't retian heat well, so Tupperware tends to stay a little wet.
i just bought this machine about 2 weeks ago. the model number is ldfn4542w. i have only used it about 10 times. i use the auto cycle. when the machine is finished it goes off and there is silence.. then i hear a low hum. then the hum goes off and it is silent again, then the hum goes on. this keeps happening over and over. all this time i do not open the machine,. does anyone know what is happening? i have called lg and they are clueless.
I would check and see if your machine is sitting completely level and able to drain all the water out properly. Sounds like it trying to continue draining at the end? Just a guess though.
You have to turn on the "extra drying" feature. That will run the fans for a few hours after the cycle finishes, and that can take care of a lot of the water as long as it isn't pooled up on stuff. Most washers don't use heated drying anymore due to wanting to be more energy efficient, so the wet dish thing has become pretty common.
We just installed this unit. Our only caution is when you push the new one in, be sure to do it in about 2” increments while also pulling the drain hose, etc. into the adjoining cabinet. We didn’t and we pinched the drain hose to where I had to purchase a replacement hose. They will kink easily behind the washer and I believe that is why the drain hose has an outer hose to protect it. We’re running it empty now to make sure everything is OK. Our old one was an LG that ran for 12 years, so that’s why we bought this IG to replace it.
Good info, Owl! When we installed ours, I had to cut the cabinet hole a bit larger to make sure that hose wasn't bending too far, so I know what ya mean. It's a tight squeeze back there.
@Joe's Phenomenal I ordered one and thru your video confident saw install was relatively easy. But now I know where things are located. Watched another vid and you both commented how the water line in has to be one of the last things to connect. Thnx again.
I just bought this dishwasher and In tripping to figure it out. So far what frustrates me about it is that it won't dry. There is a lot of water remaining all over the dishwasher. My old one had a heater coil that tried my dishes and all I had to do was put the dishes away. What am I missing with this new one?
A lot of the newer dishwashers are supposed to be super "energy efficient". That means, that instead of having a heater coil in there to dry the dishes, they rely on residual heat from the wash. That ends up leaving dishes a little wet a lot of time since there isn't active heating. They way I got around that is I always use the EXTRA DRYING option on my washes. That ends up running a fan inside the machine as well. As a result, I usually get dry dishes unless I have something in there with a big ridge that the water pools on or something like that.
I'm having the same problem! It's almost like there is no drying action at all. Tried every cycle and option attempting to get dry dishes. I like this washer but I'm very unhappy having to manually dry my dishes to put away. I thought energy efficient meant better technology and hardware, not missing basic functions. Before you buy this washer just know that you're probably going to have to dry your dishes by hand.
The best way to get the machine to dry would be to turn on the "extra drying" function. It doesn't have a real drying function like other dishwasher with a heated drying element. Instead they went with using the residual heat from the rinse cycle to dry the dishes. If you us the extra dry function, it will run a fan on them as well for several hours. That works pretty good for me, but if you have plastic stuff in there, they tend not to dry completely since the plastics don't retain heat well. I would have preferred a real dryer though.
I’ve had this dishwasher since February. I can honestly say it has a very low reject rate compared to my GE it has replaced. It ran about 7.5 hours during Christmas without a problem. I will admit the only gripe and I don’t care about apps or clockwork but it doesn’t dry
Yeah... the air dry isn't the best. If you leave it set for "extra drying" it will keep the fans on and it dries a lot better... except on plastics, since those don't retain heat long enough to dry out.
Can you please advise me just got this dishwasher yesterday what is the best cycle to use for two peoples short cycle well cleaned dishes that I pre rince
Heya Maureen... I would just set it on the turbo wash with the extra drying turned on..... Either that or auto on the clean cycle. It does a nice job auto sensing thr dirt.
How that top rack works, it has spary arm at top and if we put say big curry spoon on top upside down than how it gets clean from inside coz water will clean only top part, right??
It has that little sprayer up top, and it uses the rotating sprayer from the second shelf to get up underneath it. I didn't think it was going to do a good job with that, either, but it works surprisingly well.
@@JoesPhenomenal bt if middle rack is full of dishes, hardly any water will be able to reach top rack. I have to remove my top rack to get better cleaning experience, now my middle rack gets cleaned from both up and down
I know right? I load mine up quite a bit and it's still somehow done a decent job... I typically only have a couple of things on that top rack though... I usually just use the basket for silverware and stuff like that.... I just put big spoons and such up there.
@@JoesPhenomenal try with removed top rack, u will get more space in middle rack as well better cleaning due to to sprinkler will directly clean middle rack utensils, it works wonder for me
Hi, Sue.. I am actually doing a video this week about the best way to load a dishwasher.....weird... Using the jet dry just depends. It seems like if you have soft water, you don't get a lot of spotting, so the rinse isn't always a must.
My mom has had an lg dishwasher for about 4 years, and already we had to replace the circuit board, hinge, and many more. We didn't need to do any of that with the previous 10 year old whirlpool dishwasher.
Unfortunately, the newer machines have so many electronics and complicated features in the that reliability isn't what it used to be anymore. We were fortunate with ours though.... Worked perfect for us, but we didn't have it for super long before we moved.
I'd use the extra dry. The rinse just helps avoid spotting and stuff. The extra dry runs a fan on the inside to help dry the dishes. I always have mine set to go, and it does a pretty nice job for me.
@@JoesPhenomenal is it necessary to use the rinse aid? First time using this dishwasher. I followed your suggestion, normal cycle and extra dry, fingers crossed 🤞. I used only the detergent pak.
I usually use the rinse aid and it comes out a little better, but when I run out it takes me forever to refill it, and I still don't end up with spots or anything. Keep in mind that plastic stuff won't dry as well also since those containers don't maintain heat the way your glass and plates do.
@@JoesPhenomenal thanks for your reply! The dishes took about 3 hours 😯, plates, cutlery and glass dishes were all dry. The only items that were a little wet were the plastics and non stick pots. Other than that, I think it worked pretty good. Your review was 💯 better than the manual.
I know that this is old review but I purchased this washer because it was good price. I had it for 6 months and one thing what I don't like is the power button. I turned the machine on just by standing next to it touching with my body. they should put some kind of delay on it like you have to hold it for so many seconds to turn it on.
I bought the unit with the control panel on the top. You have to open the door slightly to use it. It's easy to see without bending over to read it from the top front. Also, prevents accidental starts because it's hidden. I hated it when I first bought it 5 yrs ago, but now appreciate the ease of use.
@inezrosario226 hmm... I can access my controls without opening it up... Might have something to do with the depth it was installed at or maybe even the overhang of your particular countertops. Mine only stick out a tiny bit except for on the island. That could be the difference.
I agree! I have that dishwasher ( minus the upper rack) and the tines are terrible. The ones on the bottom that fold down will no longer stay up and hold the dishes. Since they are the only place for plates or bowls I had to zip tie them to stay up, but they are wobbly. It washes well though so I try not to complain.
Great minds must think alike. I just bought an LG LDP6810. A big difference is that the controls are on the top of the door. The way my countertop is made, the trim covers the control lights. On these you can open the door and program your wash and when closed the cycle starts. When you use it, once started do you even "need" to look at the time or the controls? In the old, once we started the cycle just walked away.
Hi Joe thanks for the demo. I have had my LG tdishwasher for two years and love it. My question is that my dishes are done in the evening and when it says end I open the door partway and put a dish towel over the door while it’s open. In the morning when I go to put the dishes away it is emitting heat. Any time I open it it still is quite warm. I use the turbo express cycle so to save energy using on 59 minutes. It usually does a great job. I’m just concerned about the warmth coming from it when it is not being used. Any suggestions?
That heat comes from the humidity inside the machine. I was noticing that too.... It's stays surprisingly warm in there. It's not on or anything. Nothing to worry about. I Spray with disinfectant once in a while in there if I don't plan to use it for awhile, so no bacteria forms due to that....but I use it twice a day anyways, so the point is probably moot.... We just sold that house though, and I had to leave it behind. Missing it already.
Mine doesn't have the dynamic, but it has EXTRA DRY and NIGHT DRY. the extra dry is just a single push before you start the cycle, and the night dry is turned on by holding that same button for 3 seconds. Hope that's what you were looking for.
Thanks! I appreciate ya! Well.. If you hold down the stop button for 3 seconds, I belive that is a forced drain. I'd have to look to be sure.. But if your washer is just not completely draining, it might not be level. If that's the case you can use the foot adjustments to level it out.
@@JoesPhenomenal thanks a lot. Its very difficult to find out these days... What about Frigidaire units? On their website: "hard food disposer or filtration: yes" = completly unhelpful. Many 3rd party site say that they have a hard food disposer... But i cannot see any kind of food chopper in the blow up diagram on parts sites?
The word "or" is very telling.. Haha. One with a real disposal unit would be pretty interesting though.... Not sure how much cost that would have to add though. As it is, I put some pretty grarly dishes into the washer, and it still doesn't amount to a whole lot in the filter.
I'm getting this dishwasher installed this week & am anxious to use it. I wanted a Bosch which is what my sister has & loves. However, Home Depot could not get it in until Nov. so I went with this LG model. I would like to see water sprayers in the back of the dishwasher like my Mom's Kenmore but there are none on the market which have that feature. Maybe that is exclusive to Kenmore. ? We no longer have our Sears appliance store here or that would have been what I would have chosen.
HI, Paula! Funny you mention Bosch. That was my first choice, too. We needed something quickly though, as out existing one was dead, and doing TH-cam cooking videos was getting irritating having to hand wash a billion dishes every day. haha. The LG was our second choice and we found it locally in-stock. It's been a solid machine so far for us, and we run it twice a day. I would recommend using the "Extra Dry" feature though. If that's not on, we sometimes have a few wet dishes.
Hello just got this unit but it seems to be missing the stemware accessory to load wine glasses. Would this LG part work MGR62482202? I don’t see how to load wine glasses safely without something like this. Otherwise very pleased with the unit. It is noisier than my previous Bosch unit mostly because water intake is in front behind the kickplate so no acoustic insolation in that spot. The Bosch had the in take in the back which ends up deep in the kitchen cabinet.
I agree! Although for me the noise is still really acceptable... It replaced a pretty crappy washer though. The wine glass thing is annoying. I couldn't see how that was overlooked, since it's just a basic thing these days. The stemware basket should have been zip tied inside the lower drawer... If it wasn't, I bet you can call LG and they'll send ya one. You have to ask them about that other part number though. Conversely, if you have the 3 tray version. That top skinny tray is designed to hold stemware. For me it even does a better job on them than the basket.
It doesn't have heated drying so it relies on a fan and residual heat to do the job. It does a prwtty decent job... A real dry feature wold hve been nice though.
I just got mine. What setting do you use that dries the dishes the best?? I will try the rinse solution as they suggested. Do you use that and does it help with drying??
I use jet dry rinse... It really does help and I don't have problems with dry dishes unless I arrange the dishes in a way that let's thr water pool up on them... I will check what I have my settings set to and let you know!
@@JoesPhenomenal Are you talking about a liquid rinse you purchase that you put in on the door??? Or are you talking about the Extra Dry cycle?? So far I am using Normal Cycle. I am just not sure if I need to use Extra Dry and Night Cycle???? Im so confused. lol
Heya, Valerie. I run mine with liquid rinse in the compartment built in the door. I pretty much always run my dishwasher on the NORMAL setting on the left and the EXTRA DRY setting on the right... If I am going to run the dishwasher over night when we go to sleep, I use the NIGHT DRY setting on the right. I believe that ends on running the fan every so often a little extra. I believe that the LG dishwashers don't use a heater inside for drying, but instead rely on residual heat from the washing cycle to keep it warm, and the fan to help dry off.. I didn't think I was gonna like that, but it truned out to work pretty good as far as I've seen.
Thanks so much Joe. I also watched your Frigidaire induction range video. I have that coming end of March. We seem to be on the same page with appliances.
🧐 tell me why that looks exact like the one I bought for my house before I had to move and leave the best appliance I ever had behind?? 😔😔😔 this dishwasher is incredible
HI Tom... had a chance to look this up for you. Looks like that is an OE error code youo got there. I will post a link here to LG's error code page and all you gotta do is clicik on the OE, and it will give you some ideas as to what is going on. According to the website, it has something to do with the drain possibly being clogged with debris in the filter, or the drain hose or air gap. Is this a new washer or did you have for a bit and it started happening? Here goes that link: www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/error-codes-dishwasher-CT10000009-20150140938312
It works by shining a light (usually an infrared light) through the water onto a sensor that measures how much light reaches it. As the water passes through, the grunge dissolved in the water and larger particles reflect it away. Pretty neat, huh? Seems to work petty well, too.
If something goes terribly wrong, for sure! LOL. I would think that it depends on how much they want to charge for the extra warranty and also what you paid for you washer. I'd say it might be worth it for peace of mind if it's something like $100 or less. I usually only extend my warranties on my cars and cellphones though, but that's just me.
I was having a little issue with the dishes being a little wet also... I k Ow that dishwasher doesn't use a heated drying element, so it relies on the heat built up during the rinse. What I did to get better results is I used the highee temp washing and also set it for extra drying... That way it runs the fans a lot longer too. Since I started doing that, it's been pretty good unless I put something in there that water pools up on, but that's to be expected I suppose. Hope that helps!
That's a good question... Where are you logging in from? Here, a lot of the machines don't even have a salt resovoir and just rely on the rinse. Will definitely look into it though.
Looks like not all dishwashers need salt especially ones built in the US. If your dishwasher doesn’t have a container to add salt inside the main tub at the bottom, don’t use salt. The detergent and rinse aid is all you need. Don’t add salt with the detergent in the soap dispenser. Only dishwashers with built in softeners should use salt otherwise it can damage the unit. If it doesn't have that resovoir, then it wouldn't even have the softener in it either. This was a really interesting one, because I wasn't even aware that there was a such thing. Never seen one before. In any case, if you have soft water to your house, it wouldn't be needed anyway, even if it had the compartment.
Do LG dishwashers have the best warranties?? Was thinking a Bosch but the LG seems to have a better warranty. Which these days makes more sense when all these new appliances are junk. Don't last!!... anyways..LG or Bosch??..or another brand to recommend?? Cheers 🇨🇦
If they are similar priced, I'd go with the Bosch. I like the LG features, and ours was problem free, but Bosch has a really solid track record with those. I don't see too many people complain about them.
@@JoesPhenomenal I replaced my Bosch with the LG. I had a lot of problems with the Bosch and couldn't find anyone who knew how to work on it. I called Lowe's and even called Bosch and they could not find a qualified service person in our area. I'm happy with the LG, after reading the manual to see how to get it to dry dishes by adjusting water temperature, etc.
Now I'm kinda pissed.. I just bought this washer, but apparently it EXACTLY this one cuz mine doesn't have the tag on/ smaty think options.. which is what I wanted.. why would mine have a download cycle feature without being able to connect it to the Wi-Fi?... doesn't make any sense
Watching you try to place the small bowl and the glass into the dishwasher makes me think your wife does that most of the time ^^, Didnt really seem like the bowl was much of a problem and the glass you just place over the large "spikes" in the back of the tray Enjoyed your review! good watch before considering buying this DW
If you end up with wet dishes at the end of the cycle, I would make sure you have the "extra drying" feature turned on. That will run the fan when it finishes to help in drying. Worked well for me unless I had plastic containers in there. Plastic loses heat really fast, so things like tuperware tend to stay a little wet.
I doesn't use an active electric heater to dry like older dishwashers due to "being energy efficient". It relies on the heat inside the unit from the wash cycle to handle it. However, if you turn on the extra drying feature, it runs a fan in the machine after the cycle finishes and that does a pretty good job getting everything dry except for plastic tupperware... probably because that stuf doesn't retain the heat well.. No complaints here, though.
Replacing our current dishwasher with this LG. It will be our 3rd dishwasher. Our 1st 2 were GEs. Our last one was GLD2800V00WW & it was a piece of crap. Noisy. Didn't dry thoroughly even with heated dry. Plastics were still dirty. Factor in the two trays had become rusty due to nicks from sharp tools. Both trays! The heavy duty wash was a joke. The noise was such that it sounded as though it was walking across our kitchen. The silverware tray was so cheap that the small spaces quickly broke out so that spoons, etc., fell through. Annoying. Looking forward to using a far better dishwasher. Will post once we use it. For now: anything else but a GE.
Unfortunately the plastics not getting dry is an issue these days since they started relying more on residual hot air drying the dishes, and not so much with electric heating elements (some sort of energy efficiency thing). Since plastics don't retain the heat, they end up staying a bit wet. With the LG, I just set it for extra drying so it runs the fans for a long time and will usually dry up most of it.... Still a pain though.
This was the comment/info I was looking for. Just got this dishwasher last week and was unsure why so much condensation was left. I will use the night dry as well.@@JoesPhenomenal
@@DavidBrielmaier awesome... Let me know how that works out for you... Be sure to arrange the stuff in the dishwasher so that you don't have a lot of upward facing areas where water can pool up.. That affects it too.
I need to buy a new dishwasher and I think I'm going to go with one of the LG ones. A runner up from reviews I'm seeing is a Bosch one. I know it's early to tell but how do you think LG is in terms of reliability. A lot of appliances now are made with those big fancy electronic panels which are prone to fail and associated with big repair costs.
Hi! Thanks for stopping by. This LG dishwasher has been really solid for us over here so far and since we run a cooking channel, it ends up getting loaded with a lot of really dirty stuff and we run it twice a day. SO far it was worked really great and it's really quiet as well. We haven't had any reliability issues at all with it so far, but LG in general (like samsung) has had their share of customer service issues. Bosch definitely has a better reputation as far as that's concerned. It's not really fair for me to say that, though since our experience has been good so far, but if you just go with manufacturer history, LG can be a bit of a roll of the dice. As far as the electronics, unfortunately it's the way everything is headed more cool features definitely does mean more potential problems... There's a lot on this LG that to me is really not necessary.. I only use 2 buttons on it anyway. lol
@@JoesPhenomenal Thanks. I was thinking something like model LDFN3432T. Not too expensive and seems pretty good. I don't need fancy features and don't care if the tub is a little wet afterwards, I just crack it open and let it air dry. One thing I'm reading though is that with the front facing touch sensitive buttons is that they are accidentally easily pressed just from walking by. But reviews are mostly good, and usually people post reviews when they are not happy.
That model seems about the same as ours with a couple less features (which are mostly unused anyway). I've done the thing where I brush against the front and pause washes before, but it dings at me so I k Ow what happened and just continue the wash.. No biggie, but it really is a hood argument for top mounted controls. That extra drying buttons does wonders for the wet plates.
On an LG the 16 means it's on delayed start. That number means it's set to 16 hr delayed. If yiu hold the cancel button it should clear it up hopefully. That's according to what I found online, anyways.
Hi Joe, just came across your review of the LG here as I was doing a search for a new dishwasher. I am wondering if you have any update on how the machine is still doing since this original review has been a few months now. Thank you.
Hi Ima! It's still working well.... I still don't like the layout of the tines that hold the dishes, but I worked around that. I find that I always leave the "extra drying" feature turned on also, otherwise the dishes stay a little bit wet. Other than that, it's great... Very quiet too.
We just ordered this dishwasher based on your review as you went into more detail than everyone else. I’m a little worried as all brands have such horrible reviews as well and the brand we wanted isn’t even making appliances right now. But I’m going to hope for the best. By the way, your shoes cracked me up. Or are those your feet? 😳🐾😆
Glad I could help you out. Remember, reviews are pretty largely based on perceptions of the reviewer. There might be something I think is no big deal, but someone else hates with all their heart.... Our criteria was to get the 3rd tray at the top and for it to not be too terribly loud... also at a decent price and in a black stainless finish. With all the stuff there were really 2 that we were looking closely at. This one and the Samsung. Samsung freaked us out a little since we have a Samsung Fridge and have always had icemaker problems with it. Beenn happy witht the LG for sure... Easy to set up and install, looks nice, it's quiet, and the dishes are clean.. Guess that's all ya need... As far ass reliability goes, we'll see, but it does have direct drive, so there's less parts to go weird on us. Thanks on the Shoes! Those are my Walmart Slippers. I used to edit them out of videos, and forgot to do that once a while back and thought it was funny, so it's a thing now.. haha!
@@JoesPhenomenal no worries if it doesn’t work out. We read about every dishwasher we could get in our area right now and after getting and returning two defective KitchenAids back to back (one had a massive bend of the stainless steel from the door and the second was so loud it was clocking 74 dbs despite listed at 42) The GEs had either handles or gimmicky features and the Samsung everyone we talked to said steer clear of as they aren’t able to get parts or customer service if things break currently. Our LG fridge has had a lot of repairs and is loud, but they repaired everything under warranty so there is that. And the slippers are totally hilarious. It shows you have a great sense of humor. Sounds like me and my dogs (especially Maggie) in my videos. I now use her as a taste tester for food that is dog friendly instead of having to constant edit it out. 🤣🐕
Lol! That sounds awesome and thank you! I. Have a black cat named Voodoo. It's tough to get him. To show up on screen though.... It did appear in 2 videos though running by.
The reason your mugs and glasses are not fitting properly is because you're not placing them correctly. I have the same dishwasher, and they fit perfectly. Place them at the ends between the tines.
Great in depth review. Does your door have some flex as you close it? Just had mine installed and there's a bit of horizontal wobble in the door when closing it. Not sure whether its just the design of modern machines now or if it needs tightening somewhere?
I was in the same boat as you. There want enough wood up under my counter tops to tap into, so I used the left and right mount holes. Works like a charm.
Because people are simpletons. "Hey look at me. I have the latest technology. " But those apps also allow you to access cycles that the physical control panel can't do.
Great review. Helped us land on the LG to replace our 17 year old Frigidaire that just died. Really like it so far. Not a big deal but it does seem to take a long time though.
@@JoesPhenomenal That's what I was thinking too. Comparing to our 17 year old model we probably are trading a bit more time for less water/energy usage.
two things worth mentioning. The silverware drawer is ridiculously tedious to use. Putting every piece of silverware in sideways so they fit between these little pins it's just frustrating as can be. Really irritating. The dish racks, as was stated in the video, are really inappropriate for holding regular types of dishes as found in any normal kitchen. As was mentioned in the video, putting in bowls and pots and glasses is really frustrating. You have to spend all this time trying to find an orientation for them to fit on the racks. Should also be mentioned, that on my version, the primary rack falls off the main tracks all the time. The unit seems to work well and cleaning dishes, but the racks are terrible. I would not have bought this knowing these things now. The unit is very quiet though.
I do have an older LG that I can quickly add a dish, close the door and will restart without pressing anything! plus food disposer, no pre-rinse!!!!! we need power, not quieter
We did some experimentation with increasingly dirty dishes and glasses, and it seemed to handle everything we threw at it really well... Ended up pretty surprised at a lot of it. I never really pre-rinse, but that's probably more because I'm super lazy and not for scientific reasons. Lol
Wonderful dishwasher! Only one problem. It's too deep for most american homes. Our house was built in 2003 and the dishwasher was still a little too deep. We found another dishwasher that was the most popular in America - not becuase it is better than LG - it is because it is just a little smaller which makes it possible for the majority of Americans to install it. Make the LG a little less deep and it will be the number one dishwasher in the United States!
Heya Jared. Ours fit really well, but our old dishwasher is set up in our Island.. Maybe they make those at a different depth? It ended up being about the same depth as our old whirlpool, in any case. It was helped out by the water and power connections being on the bottom front of the unit instead of the back. Now I'm curious. Gonna measure our counter depth vs. the depth of the dishwasher location on the island. Thanks for the awsome info!
We have had a horrible experience with our LG products, especially the dishwasher. Thank God we purchased the LG Premium Care. They have replaced every single part in are dishwasher, and it STILL won't clean properly. We will never purchase another LG product again. We are going to either purchase Bosch or Miele going forward.
That sucks. Sorry to hear that! We've been lucky with ours. Since we are a cooking channel, we end up using once or twice a day, and it's been pretty solid for us, thank goodness. Bosch has always been a really solid company, hope your new one works out better!
To make it clean properly. You need to take out filter after EACH use to get it clean! Filter located on the bottom of the floor and clean with soap and brush. Before putting filter in the hole. Add vinegar 1/4 cup or 1/4 cup baking soda or citric acid 2 tablespoon in the hole. By doing so, you’ll be happy with machine! I do advise to rinse dishes from any food scraps before putting in the dishwasher to wash.
Bosch is pretty much the industry standard now on dishwashers it seems... That's the brand the repair guy's own. I've had great luck with our LG so far though, so that's good.
@JoesPhenomenal ah that makes sense, this one came with the house we bought 2 years ago and I couldn't find the exact model number just the model name.
I am attaching a video of a fellow that had the same problem as we are having with the LG studio dishwasher. This appears to be an engineering issue as we are having the exact same issue. Is there a 'fix'? After all the research I found out that Bosch had a similar issue some time ago and gave their customers new wheels that fixed the issue. View the video first please. th-cam.com/video/Wc-KAHkCuho/w-d-xo.html I would appreciate any help you could provide. Please help....we've only had the unit for one month. We have the SDWD24P3
Kinda looks the the lower tray was made a tiny bit too narrow, doesn't it? Have you conteced LG about that? Maybe they have a kit available to fix it... They could do that by widening those wheels.
You are correct. We did contact LG and they sent a new bottom rack, which was slightly larger in width. I am amazed that they fabricated something so far off spec. I appreciate you're input. And I hope this helps someone else
I work in computer security and Im done with smart appliances. They never work well and their have security issues you really should track but not one does. Give me a dumb appliance everytime now.
Seems like poor rack layout. Also why do people accept that some dishes will come out still dirty. The issues are either choosing the wrong cycle or the dishwasher does a poor job of cleaning or use a better detergent. We’ve never had dirty dishes after a cleaning cycle.
Yeah... It's always cleaned well for us... Unless you put something in there with cooked on cheese or something crazy like that. One of the other viewers here said he just used his old lower wash tray from his last machine instead of the one that comes with it, and it was awesome. Lol. That's one way to get around it I guess!
I have had my LG for a little less than a year and as you stated the racks have been pathetic as for user friendly and unless you make sure ALL food particles are off it WILL NOT produce clean dishes. I'd look somewhere else.
I've had pretty good luck with the dishes coming out clean, and I usually don't scrape them very much.. Maybe I've just been lucky. I still hate the rack design thoughz although I've figured out some workarounds.
@@JoesPhenomenal As both of us know, unless you can afford to throw the thing in the garbage, we figure out workarounds :o) We just pray that this is the most expensive mistake that we make.
Very true.... My Samsung fridge icemaker is a glaring example. I got the fridge for something like 75% off, though, so I gave that a pass (and I knew it might be an issue before hand).
@@JoesPhenomenal Since Samsung has NO customer service, always keep that in mind. The sad reality, a lot of companies don't care about quality/customer service. I bought a $4K LG TV, sound doesn't sync, you have to turn it off and back on every hour or so. no service.
I will never buy lg again. We have had our dishwasher three years and it unexpectedly stopped working. It’s now giving invalid error codes. It has been a nightmare
Whyyyyyy did you not once talk about how well it dries??? Specially plastics/tops of bowls and rimmed items? That’s closer to the most important feature that people care about. Ugh 🤦🏼♀️
Heya Rita. Yeah... That was a miss on my part so I apologize for that. I can tell you why it happens though. And yeah.. It can be annoying. The new LG dishwashers (and I think this is something that a lot of brands are moving towards) are pushing higher energy efficiently. Back before, to dry the dishes, after your clean cycle finished, you would have an electric dryer come on that would basically bake your dishes dry. That was really effective, but would be hard on certain kinds of plastics and other things over time, and the only water pooled up would be if there was a lot of on something with a big ledge. With the new dishwashers (this one, anyway) the drying cycle is no longer active like that. Instead, the machine runs a hot water cycle rinse and relies on the residual heat inside the diswasher to finish drying the dishes. That can work, but it's not good on pooled water, and plastics don't retain heat well so they tend to stay a little wet since they cool down too fast. To counteract that, the "extra drying" feature adds the internal fan into the mix to give it kind of a blow drying effect. I just leave that turned on all time on all my cycles and it usually manages to get everything dry for me unless something gets turned upside down during my washes. That does make the full cycle take a little longer though.
Computerized buttons, too bad, that's the problem with the new stuff, it's always the first thing to break down and render everything useless, not user friendly, the average home fixit guy or gal can't usually do anything about all that jazz, I also don't get why they think anyone needs the help of a phone to do their dishes!
Hey.. I hear ya... Unfortunately, the days of your normal fixit guy being able to work on a lot of stuff is slowing going away with all the newer stuff. Everything is computer controlled, anymore. Remember when we used to be able to work on our own cars? Not so much, now. I can't really speak to the breakdown on the buttons too much, since we haven't had a problem with it yet (knock on wood), but I'm pretty sure all the dishwashers have kind of moved in that direction. I think the last bastion of manual control might be the lower end gas ranges with the knobs and analog thermometers (I might be missing something on that though). Yeah... that phone app thing on this is more gimicky than anything else. Other than maybe sending a notification or somethin when the dishes are done, I don't get why you would even want that, but that might just be us. On a better note, mine is really easy to use,a nd for the most part I only use 2 buttons... Power and Start.... lol. Seems to work fine that way.
Same! I link being able to glance at it to see Joe much time is left in a cycle, too.
Having a timer stainless tub being quiet and 3 racks
All those mentioned before are good must haves but I missed my dishes dried at the end of each cicle. With my old dishwasher all I had to do was putting my dry dishes away. Now I have one more chore, that is to dry them up time every time I have a load.
If I have to use that extra fun, how is that energy efficient. 😥
All excellent features to look for.
This was an excellent review, I picked this unit up a few days ago after my current dishwasher's pump failed. Your review and the recommendation from the sales person at my local appliance store, this is the unit I chose. I
Glad ya like it.... The only thing I wish it had was a heated drying feature. The fan doesn't always do the job my itself on plastics.
Great review, Joe! As a teenager, I was fired from my restaraunt job for excessively playing with the dishwasher.
They fired her too.
LOL.. Nice. That one actually really made me LOL.

Just bought this dishwasher and based on your recommendation I kept the superior bottom rack from our old dishwasher, fit perfectly. So far very happy.
That's genius! Good work! Haha.
Bought this dishwasher and watched this to check it out! Very informative and great video. Thanks
Glad it was helpful, Pete!
This was the best video I have found on dishwasher 👍🏻🤩 I subscribed and am looking forward to more.
Thanks Tami! Much appreciated!
Joe this is why you are phenomenal. Great end to end naration and edit. Love the Delivery my friend! Us Asian call that the Dish Dryer Rack
LOL. Yes! Thanks!
Actually if you are the kind of person that doesn't like using automatic dish washing machines, for hand dishwashing, an automatic dishwasher does work phenomenally as a dish drying rack
True story!
You're welcome! Glad to see they addressed the rack a bit.
Yeah... Probably made in the same factory.
Thanks Joe! I had a terrible time trying to figure out if this washer was Wi-Fi enabled or not. You answered my question perfectly. Thanks for the great video
Thanks! Definitely that was a confusing one!
Nice! Congrats!
Explain how a someone would / could design a dishwasher rack that will work with any size / style of dish or glass?
Mine will stop mid-cycle … and all the lights on front start flickering … I ordered another control panel.. anyone else had this happen?
Yeah... That sounds like your problem, unless it's getting jammed somehow, which I don't think would be a thing.
Same here... On top of that water not heating.. failure product from LG
I changed out the control panel and it fixed it
Same. It’s a terrible unit. Control board failure.
@adammitry6011 I didn't have any issues myself but I also sold the place so I have no idea how it's working right now. Maybe I got lucky?
Thanks! Hmm... I never had an issue with the smell... Could it have something to do with the drain routing possibly?
My Maytag from 2014 has a tiered upper rack. I hate it but live with it. It's such a pain to have one side low and the other side high... Watching the uploader mess around with loading I was imagining how I would load stuff I have in it... It seems so weird to have that big center gap in the middle bottom rack on this one... but I'm thinking I could work with that... I think it would just be getting used to different configurations that you're used to...
@One-Day-After-Another yep... Well said. I eventually came up with a system for it, but the tines really do have funny spacing.
Thank you for video. Very detailed and informative. 🙏
You're welcome! Thanks for checking it out.
I have problems with rinse aid, have to refill every thrid or fourth wash even when set to L2, seem to run out the bottem when refilling
Mine usually lasts about 3 or 4 weeks, and we run it every day. Is it new? Have you asked LG about that? Something def. not right if you're going through it that fast.
How do I stop my dishwasher if I hit Power by mistake? Is there a way to avoid this?
If you hold down the stop button for 3 seconds, it will cancel the cycle for ya.
That's a fantastic idea. Thanks for sharing that.
My new lg leaked drying aid from the start. Do u know why yours leaked?
@@shirleyervin9182 No clue ... but the last 2 whirlpool dishwashers I've had... first one lasted just over 9 years...leaked around the 5 year mark... and this Maytag (now over 10 yrs old) still working fine... started also leaking around the 6 year mark.. same exact thing... but I'm OK with it since I've learned I don't even need rinse aid.
After washing do you find the inside door to be wet. My old dishwasher after finishing inside would be totally dry
Since it doesn't have an actual heated drying feature, that door does stay a little wet sometimes. It dries with residual heat and a fan. Works a lot better than I expected it to though. Also it depends on what's in there. Plastics don't retian heat well, so Tupperware tends to stay a little wet.
Also just curious what do you recommend for dishwashing soap?
I like the cascade pods. They have a rinse aid in them too, although I like to just use the jet dry in my machine anyways.
i just bought this machine about 2 weeks ago. the model number is ldfn4542w. i have only used it about 10 times. i use the auto cycle. when the machine is finished it goes off and there is silence.. then i hear a low hum. then the hum goes off and it is silent again, then the hum goes on. this keeps happening over and over. all this time i do not open the machine,. does anyone know what is happening? i have called lg and they are clueless.
I would check and see if your machine is sitting completely level and able to drain all the water out properly. Sounds like it trying to continue draining at the end? Just a guess though.
How are u geting them not having water still on dishes we have same Dishwasher
You have to turn on the "extra drying" feature. That will run the fans for a few hours after the cycle finishes, and that can take care of a lot of the water as long as it isn't pooled up on stuff. Most washers don't use heated drying anymore due to wanting to be more energy efficient, so the wet dish thing has become pretty common.
Do you or anybody that have this machine know how to set up the auto open dry option? (If it is a possibility)
That one was made before they had the auto open option on it. Wish I could help ya out.
OWL, how easy was the install? Good tip on the hose to know beforehand.
When we did our install, it the first one I've ever done, and it was super easy... Helps when you're just replacing and existing one though.
@Joe's Phenomenal I ordered one and thru your video confident saw install was relatively easy. But now I know where things are located. Watched another vid and you both commented how the water line in has to be one of the last things to connect. Thnx again.
@@jimiOvideo You're welcome! Glad I could help you out.
Do you have any answer for why everything is wet after it shows END. My ild dishwasher goes automatically to dry mode when the washing circle is done.
I used to have that happen a lot. Whne I used the "extra drying" setting it seems to work a lot better. Now I just kinda leave that setting turned on.
@@JoesPhenomenal Thank you very much. Much appreciated
Any time!
What if the heavy dry icon won’t light up?

Thank you so much for your simple explanation
You're welcome
hello - do you need soap and rinse all the time? rinse is jet dry? is there a right and wrong way to put in the dishes?
Hi, Sue.. I am actually doing a video this week about the best way to load a dishwasher.....weird... Using the jet dry just depends. It seems like if you have soft water, you don't get a lot of spotting, so the rinse isn't always a must.
@@JoesPhenomenal I just moved to a place that has this dishwasher... not sure if soft or hard water. I guess will have to see by the spots maybe!
So I didn’t use a rinse. It just brought one. Is that what it doesn’t dry well? Or should I hit extra dry.
Thanks, Tina! Yeah... The wash cycle is definitely long... I just do it late night and in the morning, it's all good.
I know that this is old review but I purchased this washer because it was good price. I had it for 6 months and one thing what I don't like is the power button. I turned the machine on just by standing next to it touching with my body. they should put some kind of delay on it like you have to hold it for so many seconds to turn it on.
Agreed... I've done that. I think there is a control lock button on it the help with that, but the you have to purposely unlock it when you use it.
@@JoesPhenomenal yes there is a lock but only when machine is working.
@JBCool0729 hmm... I would have thought that would work to prevent accidental operation, too... Maybe that makes too much sense.
You are exactly right on the dishwasher tine’s configuration, it is really annoying.
I know, right?? I eventually figured out a way to tetris everything in there properly, but it was more work than I felt like it should have been. haha
Yeah... That tine thing is weird... I use the middle rack for smaller bowls now... They fit better for me up there.. Go figure.
Yes.. Very true... Also you can't accidently pause the cycle by bumping up against it that way.... Like I do.... A lot. Haha
How do you turn on dynamic dry?
Mine doesn't have the dynamic, but it has EXTRA DRY and NIGHT DRY. the extra dry is just a single push before you start the cycle, and the night dry is turned on by holding that same button for 3 seconds. Hope that's what you were looking for.
I absolutely love , your video, thank you so much! Question is there any way to drain the water only? I mean the water get stock.......
Thanks! I appreciate ya! Well.. If you hold down the stop button for 3 seconds, I belive that is a forced drain. I'd have to look to be sure.. But if your washer is just not completely draining, it might not be level. If that's the case you can use the foot adjustments to level it out.
Does this unit have a hard food disposer? Or do i need to clean the a rempvanle filter?
No.. It just catches the larger particles in the filter and you just have to pop it off and clean it every so often.

Most Kenmore dishwashers were made by LG!
I did not know that. Learnin' something new every day.
@@michaelmedina7308 I was sure Whirlpool made them but made them to Sears' specifications so they did not look exactly like a Whirlpool brand.
Can we remove uper rack if there is no need
Yep. All 3 are removable

How well does it dry?
Cool! New kitchen stuff is fun. Haha!

We must have similar tastes!
i run on normal mode but about 5 min later it is stopping is it normal? is it part of washing or is it broken
Yeah... It should start and stop a bunch. It seemed weird to me too. The timer is still on when it does that, right?
@@JoesPhenomenal actually after 10 min it beeps and stops time is gone show different number like 03 or something but 3 is facing right
HI Tom... had a chance to look this up for you. Here goes that link: www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/error-codes-dishwasher-CT10000009-20150140938312
how does the washer determine how soiled the dishes are?
It works by shining a light (usually an infrared light) through the water onto a sensor that measures how much light reaches it. As the water passes through, the grunge dissolved in the water and larger particles reflect it away. Pretty neat, huh? Seems to work petty well, too.
I have my for 2 years now is making a noise went is-washing
What kinda noise? Does it still seem to be cleaning ok?
Does it help to take extended 4 years warranty. Thanks
@@JoesPhenomenal thanks. I paid 169 Canadian dollars for 4 years warranty for LG DISHWASHER from Home Depot. Thanks 🙏
Not too shabby!
Hey what to do if the thing doesn’t dry at all
I was having a little issue with the dishes being a little wet also...
Where do you put the salt in other words where can I find the salt cap in this model?
That's a good question... Where are you logging in from? Here, a lot of the machines don't even have a salt resovoir and just rely on the rinse. Will definitely look into it though.
@@JoesPhenomenal I am logging from Canada and I have the same model

I am using LG . I will not recommend it for any one..
@@JoesPhenomenal I replaced my Bosch with the LG. I had a lot of problems with the Bosch and couldn't find anyone who knew how to work on it. I called Lowe's and even called Bosch and they could not find a qualified service person in our area. @SueKumpf wow.. That's surprising about Bosch.
Hmm... If it has a download feature, there must be some way to connect it. Does it have any sort of LG app support?
Watching you try to place the small bowl and the glass into the dishwasher makes me think your wife does that most of the time ^^, Didnt really seem like the bowl was much of a problem and the glass you just place over the large "spikes" in the back of the tray

LOL... I will have to plead the 5th on that. :)
@@JoesPhenomenal it's usually the safest option :)
@Borrelaas spoken like a true genius!
What about drying completely??
If you end up with wet dishes at the end of the cycle, I would make sure you have the "extra drying" feature turned on. That will run the fan when it finishes to help in drying. Worked well for me unless I had plastic containers in there. Plastic loses heat really fast, so things like tuperware tend to stay a little wet.
Oh nice! I want that! Thanks for sharing!
Any time!
good review. Should have watched this before we bought it. We hate ours. Dishes are constantly wet afterward. Know one can figure out why. Ughhh
Hmmm.... Do you have water left in the tub at the bottom when your cycle finishes?
Is your stuff plastic! Could be why..?
That's a great point.... There's no active heating in the drying phase, and plastic loses its heat pretty quickly. Makes sense!
We're in the same boat. Totally upset with our purchase
Does it dry well?
I doesn't use an active electric heater to dry like older dishwashers due to "being energy efficient". It relies on the heat inside the unit from the wash cycle to handle it. However, if you turn on the extra drying feature, it runs a fan in the machine after the cycle finishes and that does a pretty good job getting everything dry except for plastic tupperware... probably because that stuf doesn't retain the heat well.. No complaints here, though.
@@JoesPhenomenal ok thanks 🙏
Best dishwasher yet!
Can I buy a modem good brand dish washer without smart features. I don't want them especially since it reduces reliability and longevity.
Very True. I think that most people don't use them either. The ones on that LG had pretty limited usefulness.
@@JoesPhenomenal Thanks for the feedback
We can't get it to do anything except display a blinking light showing 16. WTH
On an LG the 16 means it's on delayed start. That number means it's set to 16 hr delayed. If yiu hold the cancel button it should clear it up hopefully. That's according to what I found online, anyways.
@@JoesPhenomenal Thanks Joe, turns out I think it was actually reading "1E" which has to do with a water supply problem

@@JoesPhenomenal Oh thank you so much for that. Helps a lot.

Lol! I better get his butt on screen then. Lol. Thanks and have a great day!
The reason your mugs and glasses are not fitting properly is because you're not placing them correctly. I have the same dishwasher, and they fit perfectly. Place them at the ends between the tines.
Just got this one installed total! Bye bye GE!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Nice. Congrats! We just sold our place, so I'm about to lose mine... Guess I better go shopping again!

@@koflan 2 important ones. If you're looking at dishwashers, I am editing a vid on for the Samsung bespoke stuff right now.. Pretty interesting.
Great in depth review. Does your door have some flex as you close it? Just had mine installed and there's a bit of horizontal wobble in the door when closing it. Not sure whether its just the design of modern machines now or if it needs tightening somewhere?
Thanks! Mine seems to be ok.... Is your machine anchored well up under the counter top?
Mine is secured via screws to the left and right cabinets, as I have a granite counter top. No wobble at all, works great.
I was in the same boat as you. There want enough wood up under my counter tops to tap into, so I used the left and right mount holes. Works like a charm.
Hey Joes pls tell me cost
Hi, Rajesh. When we got this last year, it was $699 USD.
In Indian money howmuch
Why would I ever need to check my phone to see the status of my dishwasher cycle? all of these smart features on appliances are 100 percent gimmicks.
100% I haven't seen a smart feature yet on an appliance that I felt needed to be there.
I use it to see if my kids actually started the dishwasher like I asked lol
Lol! Use that technology to you advantage! Love it. Haha.
Because people are simpletons. "Hey look at me. I have the latest technology. " But those apps also allow you to access cycles that the physical control panel can't do.
Do you know when your dishwasher is done. Or when it will be finished? Do you time it everytime? No, that’s why.
Thanks Joes I likes your video
Thank you!
Great review. Helped us land on the LG to replace our 17 year old Frigidaire that just died. Really like it so far. Not a big deal but it does seem to take a long time though.
Thanks! I noticed the wash time, too... I am assuming it's due to power and water usage efficiency?
@@JoesPhenomenal That's what I was thinking too. Comparing to our 17 year old model we probably are trading a bit more time for less water/energy usage.
Yeah... Agree... Wasn't really a big deal to me since I juts kinda make it go leave anyways. Pretty quiet too.
two things worth mentioning.
Yeah... The tray design is weird... I ended up adjusting to it over time, but ended up using that top tray for stuff like spatulas and such.
Just ordered one. No matter it will be better than our dead Samsung that lasted only 20 months.
Ugh.... That's rough.

We did some experimentation with increasingly dirty dishes and glasses, and it seemed to handle everything we threw at it really well... Ended up pretty surprised at a lot of it. I never really pre-rinse, but that's probably more because I'm super lazy and not for scientific reasons. Lol
My dishwasher won’t start it counts down but doesn’t start
Check out your dishwasher drain and see if maybe it's clogged... Do you have water sitting there in the bottom of the washer?
@@JoesPhenomenal My house was built in 1984 and this dishwasher fits just fine next to the sink, and under the counter top of course.

Hello joe u mean ldfn4542s
Oops, my mistake. Just double checked.. ldfn4542d, actually..
I am attaching a video of a fellow that had the same problem as we are having with the LG studio dishwasher. This appears to be an engineering issue as we are having the exact same issue.
@micheleta7070 glad they took care of you!
Sorry the extra dry icon won’t light up.
That's odd.. are you selecting your wash type first?
I work in computer security and Im done with smart appliances. They never work well and their have security issues you really should track but not one does. Give me a dumb appliance everytime now.
Yeeep.... My background was in tech for 20 years also.... Simplicity is longivety.

Ugh.. Sorry to hear that. Disappointing.
That's easy to fix. There are videos right here on TH-cam showing you how to fix them.
Zoie Shoal
