I Still remember that wonderful evening probably in the late 1974 or 75 at one of my aunt's house where t Sir Dr Bhupen Hazarika had come over in the evening and sang quite a lot of songs and we were all mesmerised. Along with him I also had the golden opportunity to sing a song - probably it was one of the most precious moments of my life - my deepest regards & honour to the legend.
Bhupen Hazarika's songs are reflections of the Assamese people's own culture, history, glory, emotions, stuggles and what not! Not only that! His songs are also reflections of the glory, struggles, sufferings, pains of his time, beyond any geographical boundary. That's why very much close to every Assamese people's core of heart! And that's why his songs are time tested.. He will live in the hearts, culture of the people of Assam and humanity across boundaries for all time to come. Live forever Bhupenda!
