Finally we have a car in India whose USP is safety. Figo Aspire seems much better equipped & packaged in comparison to its rivals. Eagerly anticipating its launch. Hope Ford prices it well. U guys do awesome reviews. Looking fwd for a more detailed review or a comparo for this car.

TheHandsome Jack The reason is simple, drive train, Ford Mustang is a RWD car, its chassis the s550 is made for Power in excess of 390 HP on wheels and the transfer case and gearbox etc are designed in such a way, If U want a small RWD fun car there are the Mazda Miata and Toyota GT86, but even still if those cars come to India they ll cos over 30 lakhs on the road, no brands can make a simple RWD car that easily,specially with small wheelbase, Audi TT is FWD which is as competent as RWD cars nowadays but can never give the freedom a Mustang gives to the driver, and Mustang GT will cost around 80-85 lakhs on the road and will have 412 bhp@6000 rpm and 524 NM @4500 rpm, A BMW M4 with 431 bhp and 540 NM will cost like 1.4 crore on road, the base Porsche boxter with just 278 hp and 340 NM costs 94 lakhs on the road, so the Mustang is a bargain however one may look at it

I loved that Ford has given importance to safety so much which is so badly required in Indian roads.. Features will be of no help when your car cannot provide you safety in an accident.. 6 Airbags.. Just Wowwww!!! The interior is perfect.. the back design is quite good, not like the other compact sedans which looks awkward!! The front... yep.. inspired from the aston martin type look, i loved it... Now i have to go for a test drive myself and check out the remaining features.. fords are among the best cars one can buy, but these cars are highly underrated :( as one may see in the case of fiesta classic, the 1.6 lit petrol sports version of fiesta.. these fords are driver focused cars but i don't know why many people don't think of ford while they are thinking of buying a new car. hope this ford changes the scenario :)
Once again good review but a full detail review and also comparison test would be great. Well, coming to Ford cars, I think they are best VFM cars on a long term basis considering their driving dynamics, high speed stability, superb braking, and most important safety. All the Ford cars which are in India are early European models which are solid and will last long, more than any Japanese cars. People simply talk rubbish about a very good brand about service cost and high maintenance, I have been driving a Figo and an Ecosport from two years, the service charge is less than Hyundai may be just a little bit more when compared to Suzuki but for the extra bucks you will be in the safest cars around.
Hey Rohan ..that was a complete no-nonsense opinion about the car...always love the PD way of reviewing ...about the car ya..I would always take safety above those "!! see I've got the fancy !!!" kind of features ...after watching those ncap videos really felt that the Japanese and Koreans were bitching on us...when the European swift gets 4 star ...why on earth would the Indian version fails to get so..????? Do we look like lifeless dolls meant to get ripped on the road...WAY TO GO FORD ...really hope our fellow brothers do some rational thinking when it comes to buy a car for their family .....cheers

The best compact sedan in the market. I took this car for a test drive 1.5 tdci and have to say it is the most powerful and refined engine in this segment.
+PowerDrift The only thing missing in this car IMO is the way the old Fiesta used to handle. But that's due to the fact that aspire has electric steering and also because of difference in CG to that of Fiesta.

As usual the first drive review is spot on.. all the necessary details.. the car doesn't have the look to grab eyeballs but will manage to grab a few stares.. the front split grill looks nice.. reminds me of the old Linea.. Tyres do look a bit small when compared to the overall size of the car. As for the price.. the Petrol may start at Rs. 5.5 lacs and the diesel at Rs. 6 lacs.

That weird feeling when the first drive is longer (and should I say, more elaborate) than the review! o_O Anyway, I feel this car and its li'l hatch bro are grossly underrated. They deserve to do much better as far as sales go. This is nitpicking, but with a gem of an engine like that, I dont see the logic behind using hatch like 14" wheels.Y U NO give us 15 inchers atleast, Ford? :-/ And while we are at it, can we have all black interiors like the Figo hatch atleast on the titanium/titanium+ trims? I know ten hut did mention the 6airbags in conversation with ninad while driving the diesel version, I was hoping that since Ford has made it it a point to focus on the safety side as the strongest point of the figo aspire, In the last PTC this would have been elaborated as a thing to look forward to. i heard that there is a major issue ... while driving if u left steering on straight and flat surface car automatically drag towrds left side ,after seeing 2 videos in youtube i decided to take test drive surprisingly i felt same issue ..... i was planning aspire now still m thinking ... can u please upload a video of testing the steering stabilities on straight n flat surface please test n conform
The front looks good. And thank you for NOT going overboard with Chrome. Somehow rear quarter looks odd ( Almost all sub 4 m's do), but overall, not a bad one! Call me conventional, I would like to see, Ford, Fiat, VAG work in India coz they are the few who give a sh*t about sturdiness and care for those who like to drive (than being driven around).

PowerDrift: Not sure if the issue is at my end, but I felt the voice really suppressed. BGM dominated and the voice was barely audible. Poor recording?
Ford Aspire is a good sedan but our home grown Tata has better car called Zest. I want you to review it in detail because it is value for money car with lots of first in its class features like audio video navigation, Harman music system with touch screen and voice command to control AC, Music, Calls, SMS etc. it has safety features like Dual airbags, ABS, CSC, EBD, and 15" alloy wheels. Fuel economy is not less than 20kmpl when it's fully loaded and 25-27kmpl with 2-3people. I am posting this info because we have to promote Indian cars with best safety features after all it's a made in India product and purely Indian. Hope you review diesel zest soon being an reputed Indian autocar expert.
So what?? Figo aspire has got much better features than this. The problem with Tata is that its cars start to have problem with engine within 2-3 years and quality of service is not upto mark.
Looks promising. I think ford will price it competitively with introductory price of 5 to 5.5 lacs for base variants. BTW just a wild thought, 17" alloy mod with mid rise GT-wing spoiler or nascar spoiler will enhance its look more. Someone can add blacked 18" with lowered suspension.

I dont really get that logic behind those surveys which said Majority of Indians like sedan cars so to reach to maximum middle class Indians, build cropped up hatch-sedan. These manufacturer do realise that sub-4-meter thing is total junk, but they will still launch because of customer interest. Bring bigger hatches to Indian market. They are more utility proven cars and are under 4 meter too!
I personally believe that ford is going to price it very carefully...but after seeing the price tag of figo and ecosport i can definitely tell that ford figo aspire is going be the cheapest among the all five.(not sure about zest)

I know ten hut did mention the 6airbags in conversation with ninad while driving the diesel version, I was hoping that since Ford has made it it a point to focus on the safety side as the strongest point of the figo aspire, In the last PTC this would have been elaborated as a thing to look forward to. i heard that there is a major issue ... while driving if u left steering on straight and flat surface car automatically drag towrds left side ,after seeing 2 videos in youtube i decided to take test drive surprisingly i felt same issue ..... i was planning aspire now still m thinking ... can u please upload a video of testing the steering stabilities on straight n flat surface please test n conform
Hey Mahantesh, we did not face that issue. Vehicle veering could happen due to the conicity of the road.

The front looks good. And thank you for NOT going overboard with Chrome. Somehow rear quarter looks odd ( Almost all sub 4 m's do), but overall, not a bad one! Call me conventional, I would like to see, Ford, Fiat, VAG work in India coz they are the few who give a sh*t about sturdiness and care for those who like to drive (than being driven around).
Thanks for posting this :)..and I do second the fact that wheels are a bit of disappointment, on the profile they don't really go with the overall looks of the car..!!
PowerDrift: Not sure if the issue is at my end, but I felt the voice really suppressed. BGM dominated and the voice was barely audible. Poor recording?

Ford Aspire is a good sedan but our home grown Tata has better car called Zest. I want you to review it in detail because it is value for money car with lots of first in its class features like audio video navigation, Harman music system with touch screen and voice command to control AC, Music, Calls, SMS etc. it has safety features like Dual airbags, ABS, CSC, EBD, and 15" alloy wheels. Fuel economy is not less than 20kmpl when it's fully loaded and 25-27kmpl with 2-3people. I am posting this info because we have to promote Indian cars with best safety features after all it's a made in India product and purely Indian. Hope you review diesel zest soon being an reputed Indian autocar expert.
So what?? Figo aspire has got much better features than this. The problem with Tata is that its cars start to have problem with engine within 2-3 years and quality of service is not upto mark.
Looks promising. I think ford will price it competitively with introductory price of 5 to 5.5 lacs for base variants.
BTW just a wild thought, 17" alloy mod with mid rise GT-wing spoiler or nascar spoiler will enhance its look more. Someone can add blacked 18" with lowered suspension.

I dont really get that logic behind those surveys which said Majority of Indians like sedan cars so to reach to maximum middle class Indians, build cropped up hatch-sedan. These manufacturer do realise that sub-4-meter thing is total junk, but they will still launch because of customer interest.
Bring bigger hatches to Indian market. They are more utility proven cars and are under 4 meter too!

Tell them to enlarge its wheel size,then it will surely beat some above 4 metre sedans also.
I personally believe that ford is going to price it very carefully...but after seeing the price tag of figo and ecosport i can definitely tell that ford figo aspire is going be the cheapest among the all five.(not sure about zest)
