    Thanks for the video 👍
    B6 is truly protective for the heart but in recent years it has been talked about badly (unfairly) with normal doses and with cofactors it is very unlikely there will be neuropathies.

    Just wanted to say JDoc, that you definitely do your research and thank you for sharing a very important video presentation. PLP, or P5P, is destroyed by cooking, heating, improper storage, and sunlight and this is important in P5P.

      Thank you for your comment and support. This is a very TOUGH one. Honestly, I do not know. I have a patient who has the same and it is my quest to find out that answer.

      TheJDocRealMinute, Hi there’s a Facebook group on the subject called B6 toxicity. Unfortunately there’s no cure, as far as I know.

      Did you testing the blood serum is not a good way to measure. I had a doctor measure b6 and it said I was toxic then I measure it by doing an organic acids test which said I was very deficiency. And the literature says one can not become b6 from diet and the only way to become toxic is by supplements 200 to 500 mg daily for months

      You're probably consuming a synthesized version of B6 without you knowing it. Probably an energy drink or supplement

    When taking p5p do you need to take it with a bcomplex also

    • @thejdocrealminute4648
      @thejdocrealminute4648  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You can if you desire. You do not have to take together. I recommend taking B-Complex at noon. P5P before bedtime.

      Taking a B Complex is certainly helpful because the B vitamins are synergistic with each other, taking just one for a long time can lead to imbalances, depletions and does not give optimal results.
      I use a B Complex that contains 10 mg of Pyridoxine but in the evening I take 10 mg of B6 as P5P.
      I have arm problems that appear every now and then, when this happens I increase the P5P to 20/30 mg a day and after a few days my arm problem resolves.

    Neuropathy could be too much b6?

    • @thejdocrealminute4648
      @thejdocrealminute4648  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct... but, is it being absorbed? Remember, B6 is water soluble. Do you have the MTHFR GENE? Look into that.......

    • @carokat1111
      @carokat1111 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      YES, YES, YES! . If it's taken long term it definitely gets stored in the muscles and nerves, despite medical claims that it's water soluble.

    100mg per day is a very high dose, frankly if you are not getting all the other vitamins and minerals that work with B6 you could accumulate toxic levels of B6 on doses higher than 25mg per day (I take materially less than that myself). 25mg per day is the European regulatory max for individual B6 supplements / recommended max from all supplements. Anyone relying on US / Australian regulators to protect them with their 100mg cap is engaging in a lot of wishful thinking.

    • @thejdocrealminute4648
      @thejdocrealminute4648  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      THIS is why I recommend the dose. In America where the food is horrible and obesity keeps climbing.
      Taking vitamin B6 in doses of 100 mg daily or less is generally considered to be safe. Vitamin B6 is possibly safe when taken in doses of 101-200 mg daily. In some people, vitamin B6 might cause nausea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, headache, and other side effects. Certain conditions can increase the risk of developing a deficiency by interfering with the absorption of vitamin B6: Kidney disease. Autoimmune intestinal disorders like celiac disease, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn's disease. Autoimmune inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis. Vitamin B6 deficiency is often associated with other vitamin B deficiencies, such as folic acid and vitamin B12. Low plasma levels of active vitamin B6 are found in individuals with chronic alcohol dependence, obesity, and protein-energy malnutrition.

      In Australia since March 2023 any product taken daily that has 10mg or more of B6 must show a risk of peripheral neuropathy warning.

    • @carokat1111
      @carokat1111 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the US is way behind on this. Australia also allows 100mg but at least places a warning label on supplements which contain 10mg or more. The EU has recently reduced their acceptable level from 25mg to 12.5mg. B6 simply should not be taken in more than the recommended daily allowance of 1.3-1.5mg a day. It's toxic.

    Be aware of too much b6 in any form, it can cause toxicity and earing ringing and tremors
