Id like to hear that compressor in front of it.
I also have this pedal and love it. And I also play a music man stingray special 5 hh. Thanks for the cool video!!

We’re going to be doing an updated video of his pedalboard in the near future so I’ll make sure that we cover that when we do as well. Thank you for the feedback! Much appreciated!

I have a 'Volt'.. i use it at rehearsals, and gigs.. just brilliant.
For me, i use a dcx bass in front of it..mainly because of my gibson passive bass..
    Chanel 1 , and Channel 2, are stunning. I do use Channel 3, but mainly 'Darkglass ' 1 &2..

Its it better to run my bass compressor through the effects loop in the revolt, to keep the digging in consistent, vs running it before the revolt? I don't use any other pedals

sorry for the late response but I would say to run before the revolt because the idea is for you to hit the tube at the front end versus hitting it parallel. although it never hurts to try both and see which one you like better. you'll have to try and and let us know. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on it.

I too , would run before Revolt, compression before wil b less dramatic on overall tone, and, give all channels a consistent signal .
Compression in fx loop (basically last in chain), may suck a bit of tonal differences between channels..
Try both ways, trust your ears.

I play a lakland dj4 for my main bass, and my back up, a much lighter bass is a modded sterling ray4 with a passive seymour duncan pick up. The problem I have is although the Sterling plays fantastic, but the sound is quite a bit thinner, and has a much more midrange tone to it. Would this preamp channel one help that bass to have a thicker warmer tone closer to the lakland? Also is the number 2 channel capable of producing a clean tone like channel 1. Wondering if I'd run the sterling in channel one and the lakland in channel 2, or something like that.

The Revolt bass will give a warmer tone for sure with the preamp tube it in. Yes the second channel does clean up if you need it too but will be a different tone from the ampeg or first channel. so if you're fine with that then I think its worth it. in recent times as we've been playing gigs it seems like Gus has been just keeping it on just the Ampeg channel and using the HX one for the overdrive when he needs an over drive. we'll have to do an update video soon/ there's a handful of videos we need to put out with the different changes we've both done to our boards. Hopefully this helps you out!

I have the Revolt for 5 month now. Works perfect with my jazz and my 51 precision with the vintage pickup : it's punchy as hell. On my regular precision it's an other story : the clean channel is too muffled, the crunch channel has nice mids but at the price of the loss of bass... I have also the origin DCX bass that I put after or in the loop of the revolt bass , this way I have the most wonderfull tone (clear , vintage , punchy ) . I tried to put the DCX before the Revolt then again the clarity of the sound is like sucked up ....

I can see that 100% We've noticed that for most fx in general unless its a filtered effect its for sure better to put them through the FX Loop in the Revolt Bass. Gus mainly uses is Musicman Bass with this rig and since its active it makes up for any tone suck but other than that its been an awesome part of the rig and tube wise does warm up the tone a little. If you don't have one in your chain maybe putting a compressor at the beginning of your chain before the revolt might help. give that a shot if you get a chance and then give some feed back. We'd be interested to see if that helped you out at all. thanks for the comment and added input :)
