The Degass feature is for tap water.. Since tap water is highly oxygenated it can cause some items to rapidly oxidize while being cleaned.. but if you choose to degass feature it will eliminate the oxygen gas and not cause any oxidation on your items after cleaning Hope that helps and great video
Found one for 10 bucks thought it would be good for my relics (found while metal detecting). btw 480 seconds is 8 minutes (not under 5 minutes) great video though.-- Bodie
Not to be critical, but let me be critical. As a product reviewer shouldn't you review the documentation before doing the review? It clearly indicates what the degas feature is for. And don't let me get started on why it would make the same noise as the ones in the jewelry store. Could it be that they are both making high frequency vibrations/sounds? A big duh dear Product Reviewer. A total waste of time.

The arch looking piece is for necklaces and bracelet chains so they don’t tangle😊

Great value. Great looks.
Just ordered mine! Thank you!
I heard that it works better if you put boiling water, I don’t know if that’s true
Just ordered one thank you
Does it clean the finger prints on lenses?
....Proceeds to wipe with a towel that would likely scratch
Does the water agitate?
No, it vibrates... so not like a washing machine if that is what you mean.
The water barely moves in mine, even less when the basket is inserted. It’s new, so I’m trying to figure out if it is defective.
No thats how it is supposed to be
Your right. It does a great job. I recommend.
