Maybe there is a chance that you know how to backup the current system image? I have a Neo Geo Mini Christmas Edition (which has 48 games) and I want to be able to restore the same image in case something goes wrong.

Does this hack allow you to switch between AES and MVS settings, as well as change the region?
Also, can you use any romset (NeorageX, Mame) or only specific ones?
I'd only use this to play Neo Geo games.
As for why the emulators in this hack exist, it what's likely meant to act as proof of concept (which is interesting since some of the Neo-Geo FBA roms ended up in the holiday edition such as Ninja Combat, Soccer Brawl, and The Super Spy.
I can confirm that this hack works. But only additional emulators for other systems (e.g. NES, SNES, MD, etc.) and games are added. Otherwise all negative peculiarities are preserved. The HDMI image quality is still rather poor and especially with the additional emulators it is accompanied by heavy tearing. In addition, the emulators only have a 16:9 image output via HDMI, there is no correct 4:3 or pixel perfect output. Also there is no image filter like e.g. Scanlines or Retro TV. There is also no remap function for the bad key arrangement of the system or the controller. So apart from the additional games, this hack doesn't really make the system any better.
Is it possible to do this without installing the other emulators? I just want to have Art Of Fighting 2 on it.

Is there enough memory to have entire Neo Geo Library on this? I dont care about other systems. I use these minis just to have mostly the entire catalog of that specific console.

is there a video for using a usb to add ur own games? do they need to be a certain file type or can u add pretty much anything?
I skipped through some of your video so I apologize if I missed this but there’s two questions you didn’t answer..
1) If you’re running games off of a usb drive can you not play any of them with a 2nd player?
2) How is the hdm video playback on a tv using added games (not the built in games)? Are there filters? Can you use 4:3 ratio?

I don't know if you ever did it I never saw a fault video on this I installed the buildfrom this video today on my own system and every time I try to do the USB thing I never have any luck with it it either tells me the inserted which I did or it has told me to create certain folders which I did and it still didn't workI don't know if you had any better luck if you do please make a video on ASAP it would make sense to do so anyways I remember recently you put out an ad for these things to get them cheap on Amazon so I think right now would be an awesome time for that video that's if you ever figure it out LOL
After doing this hack my joystick strangely doesn't recognize when I go up and to the right. It worked perfectly before. Awesome. Both right and up works separately???
Does this get rid of the default filter? It seems like it rounds the pixels.

Is there any way to restore the original firmware after modding it? Some games I really liked were removed in the modding process and I can't find a stock image to flash. :(

Has anyone figured out a way to access the emulator options? The games are locked in 16:9 aspect ration when using HDMI out and the neo geo mini options only work for the stock games included. There is also terrible screen tearing with HDMI output on the emulators, which could be fixed if there is a V-Sync option in the emulation
Do any of the hacks improve HDMI out?

Does this hack put the Asian collection of the NeoGeo-games on the system ? In the Vendor-file i didn't see all the Metal Slug games, no Shock Troopers, all the KOF games, and Top Hunter (not an international game).

Has anyone browsed the contents of the 'vendor.img'? It looks like there is also a Sega Master System emulator present. Has anyone managed to play SMS on their mini? So far I've only successfully replaced the existing roms for the standard emulators like Genesis, SNES etc.

Yeah I watched his video. He commented on one of mt videos the other day where I talked about a new version being leaked. Cool dude who wants to collect them all. The ACE Mini does look cool... But I have no connection to it to desire importing. Its a Chinese exclusive and its a clothing brand cross promotion. So not that interesting to me other than the color scheme.

No. It's still software. HDMI output drivers are just never changed. You may have a good native signal, bit that doesn't help if your output drivers are garbage.

Hi there. i been playing around my mini neo and i having troubles getting a usb to read on it and my games from the usb. have you had a chance to play with that feature. is there a certain folder structure that the usb files needs to be in. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Same here, I even named a folder FBA like it asks too, but it keeps saying put a USB disk in port 2, but its already there!

Captain Freedom it’s a filter, otherwise the menu of the console wouldn’t be sharp. Then when you click a game and their emulator fires up the game, softness ensues.

N64 mini would be awesome, but it should come with 64 games, not 30 or 21 that came with nes and snes classic mini, but 64 games and two controllers would be perfect.

just bear in mind cps games are 384 pixels wide so if you play them on that little display you're losing 64 horizontal pixels
and not all the CPS1 games work flawlessly. For example, in Forgotten Worlds and it's Japanese counterpart, Lost Worlds, you can only shoot to the right. There's no form of aiming like on MAME. Also, be sure to put the volume to 50% because they are super loud.

I just got the Neo Geo Mini. Hoo boy this thing is garbage. Getting beyond the stick/no microswitches issue, the system itself is horrible. It actually LOADS... like you have to wait a few seconds to boot each game. We're talking in 2020, the tech in this thing isn't fast enough to immediately load these 30+ year old games. I don't think that's too high a demand when you're dealing with making an officially licensed console here...
Second, the graphics themselves. Sure it looks fine on the embedded screen, but if you try hooking this up to a big TV, don't even bother. You cannot turn off unfiltered graphics. There are two options for graphical settings: blurry filtered and something akin to "Super Eagle" if you know what I mean. Basically, you can't get pixel perfect output when going through a TV, it just doesn't give you the option. It will also crop off a small portion of the bottom, no matter what.
Wrap all that crappiness with poor emulation (My Wii runs Neo Geo games better than this) and censored games if you got the international version (ex: Metal Slug turns blood into "sweat" or "white guts") and you have a piss poor piece of crap that they just shat out to turn a profit. DO NOT pay full price for this junk, it's not worth it.
