Jesus Tells Us the Future (Matthew 24:1-14)

We have taken the time to introduce the right context to understand the answer our Lord gives to the questions asked by His disciples. We have established that the answers given are complex because the disciples assume the destruction of the Temple is related to His second coming. What is not seen in the answers given is the gap between the 69th and 70th week (Daniel 9:24-27). That gap includes the church age which God had not yet disclosed. Our Lord is addressing the events just prior to His coming to establish His promised reign. Matthew 24 has the same pattern as Revelation 6-19 or the last seven years of predicted tribulation prior to His second coming. As we view our world forming into the description of things given of Christ for the tribulation, we know the timing of the removal of the true church is nearing. Christ has given us the privilege of divine insight that we might walk in the light!
