    A fantastically comprehensive explanation, I just have one question, how do I import (under documents) all the projects that I have coded separately? I am looking for ways to find commonalities and themes in all my interviews? Thank you

      Dear Samah Ahmed, there are multiple ways for this. For example you could use the option "Merge projects" that can be found in the "Home" tab. This option enables you to merge two projects. You can also the Teamwork Import/Export options to export certain elements from one project file and import them into another project file. More information on this can be found in our online manual: www.maxqda.com/help-mx22/teamwork/transferring-coded-segments-memos-variables-etc-from-one-project-to-another and www.maxqda.com/help-mx22/teamwork/merging-two-maxqda-projects

    Hello, thanks for this tutorial. I am new to qualitative data collection and analysis and so I normally tabulate my raw notes on an excel file. In the example in the video I noticed you imported doc/word file does the tool support excel file? what would you recommend as a format for the raw notes to be in?

      Hello, yes you can also import and analyze excel files using MAXQDA! You can find an overview of supported data types in our online manual here: www.maxqda.com/help-mx22/import/data-types. A good starting point could definitely be Excel files or text files such as .docx or .rtf files. All the best on behalf of the MAXQDA team!

    Hello, thank you very much for the video. This has been helpful. Do you have an idea, why the "open coding" button stays grey and deactivated? Thank you!

      Dear Lea, in this case it would be best to contact our colleagues at the functional support via our website: www.maxqda.com/help-support/onlinesupport. You can also provide them with screenshots or a detailed description of the issue in order to understand it a little better. All the best from the MAXQDA team!

    thank you. Is it possible to work collaboratively through Maxqda? I want to share the doc with my friend. Is it possible?

    • @MAXQDAOfficial
      @MAXQDAOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dear Neslihan Gök Ayyıldız, yes it is possible to work collaboratively with MAXQDA! For example, you can export individual documents from your project file, share specific components from your project file using the Teamwork functions or work together as a team using the MAXQDA TeamCloud. You can find further information here: www.maxqda.com/help-mx20/teamwork/can-maxqda-support-teamwork and here: www.maxqda.com/teamcloud . All the best on behalf of the MAXQDA team!

    Also does MAXQDA have any local Indian languages?

    • @MAXQDAOfficial
      @MAXQDAOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, currently the MAXQDA interface is available in these languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Italian, Chinese simplified, Chinese traditional, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, and Polish. However you can also analyze data in any other language using MAXQDA as the analysis functions are based on unicode, so you would definetly be able to analyse material in Indian languages using MAXQDA. All the best on behalf of the MAXQDA team!

    Hi. This was useful. Just had one question: Suppose in a single document, there are multiple, say 4, segments having the same code. How do I merge those segments so that it becomes one unified segment under 1 code? So that when I'm exporting the data in excel or creating a code map, the data is shown under the same code.

    • @MAXQDAOfficial
      @MAXQDAOfficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Aabha, thanks for your feedback! Too merge four separate segments into one, this segment would have to encompass all four of them - but then you'd lose the information about the borders of those individual segments, so this might not be what you're actually looking for. (Especially since they are already "under the same code" - maybe you meant "under the same coded segment"?) If there are individual segments you do not want to take into account in your analysis, then 'weight scores' for individual coded segments will enable you to do that. You can read more about them here:
      www.maxqda.com/help-mx20/05-coding/weight-scores-indicating-segment-relevance
      We hope this helps! If not, or in case of any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again.
      Best regards on behalf of the MAXQDA support team!

      @@MAXQDAOfficial Thanks for your reply. I don't mind losing the information about the borders of the segments. I'll look into the link you've shared. What I meant was a way to do this- "Segments assigned with the same code will therefore never overlap; they will turn into a single, larger coded segment."

    How does one get codes (and sub-codes within codes) to appear alphabetically (automatically) in the code system?

    • @MAXQDAOfficial
      @MAXQDAOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello George Cavaleros, there is no function in MAXQDA to order codes alphabetically in the code system. However, you can display the codes in your project in an alphabetical order by clicking "Reports" > "Overview of Codes" and then simply clicking at the top of the "Code" column. If you click on an entry in that list, the code system automatically jumps to the connected code. Greetings from the MAXQDA team!
