After patiently pursuing Ai for 10 years, it's about damn time she gives Shabani some love! If Ai was Haoko's mate, he would have taken her whether she wanted it or not.
Nene is in the basement bedroom and the zookeeper’s are the only ones that have access to the gorillas in their bedrooms for everyone’s safety.. I was hoping the zookeeper’s would video her and post the video for us to see Nene 😊

It’s getting hard to watch these lovely Gorillas. This stretch of conflict with Shabani and Kiyo is really dragging out this time. Poor kiyo constantly has to be vigilant and flee. Annie is doing her best to keep his spirits up and spend time with him but she has her own stress issues and is getting more bald by the day. Shabani has one mate who clearly is not going to recover which makes sense at her age but in the wild she would have been left behind when the troop followed the Silverback for food so what a unique thing for them to watch happening. Ai is not interested which is her right but she can’t even leave the troop. Don’t enjoy to be all doom and gloom but this situation is looking grim.
I would not call Shabani and Kiyo a conflict because it happens all the time at Gorillas society, it’s very common for the silverback to guard his wives also Ai although beautiful has a less screw at her head or she is very loyal to her mother and think that she is inferior to her , her mother is matriarch!
It doesn't though. The black backs usually leave to find females of their own or are driven out by the Silverback. There are some troops in the wild that may have an additional silverback but it’s not very common from what I have read and seen. I mean there’s a reason the zoos have to create bachelor groups.
@@lilylexie5105 Western lowland gorillas never have multiple silverback troops in the wild and bachelor troop is quite a rare thing for them is a never permanent. You should not get them confused with mountain gorillas.
I watch all the gorilla channels and these are by far the best looking with healthy builds rich fur and shabani the best looking and biggest of all the silverbacks they all have blue black fur
I agree. Everyone is always hating on this zoo, but this troop is super healthy. My wish is for them to find another good zoo that needs a silverback and send Kyo there so he can start his own family. Then take Ai off birth control and let her and Shabani have another baby. That would be great.
I agree also. I watch all the others as well. This zoo has def done a great job in giving this group the room necessary to have a healthy bond. I feel sorry for all the rest.
There was an update about a week ago that she was missing when they checked on her. As it turned out, she had climbed up into a hammock to take a nap and was hidden from the keeper's view. So, she's getting her strength back. I'll still be surprised if she's placed back with the fam again, though. In human years, Nene is the equivalent of a 119-year-old. She's very frail and Shabani and Kiyomasa don't realize this when they play rough with her.

I think it's safe to say that Nene has been retired from public viewing. I can't see her performing at the level that we have loved... running, screaming, protecting Kiyo from Shabani, etc.
I hope that Nene is getting medical care, fresh air, soft food & has a comfortable bed. Because Nene may never be able to return to Shabani's rambunctious troop. The troop is doing well because they can visit Nene.

Poor Poor Kiyomasa😭😢, This is a Horrible zoo & with horrible zoo keepers for allowing & keeping this happening without any plan moving forward for kiyomasa. I know Shabani is overly aggressive like his brother haoko but this is just outrageous at this point.
I believe that Kiyo is trying to challenge Shabains leadership. That’s putting Shabain on alert and on guard that he has to protect Ai and Annie from Kiyo.
@@walliegoolsby5389AI has been in season the past few weeks. To be fair to Kyo, he hasn't shown interest in her but shibani naturally feels that he has to keep Kyo away from her just in case. Kyo isn't threatening the Shibani leadership which is why he keeps running away and trying to stay away from his Dad. If Kyo was going to challenge Shibani, he would be showing off, posing and demonstrating his strength. As far as I've seen, kyo isn't doing this behaviour.

Shabani isnt even as aggressive as Momotaro is towards Gentaro. I dont think Shab has hurt Kiyo while Gentaro always has wounds😢
