    Was the infantry squad leader the vehicle commander when infantry was in the vehicle? Did the gunner command when the vehicle was empty?

    Very thrifty folks, Swedes, sometimes. Certainly made better use of WWII surplus than most nations. A 5+ liter boxer engine, never knew such a thing existed.
    At that time, the 20 mm cannon was certainly something to take seriously.

      They cant keep there the pieces with ready to fire guns. I think its disabled but can be made back to working order since it should be kept in original state.

    • @Joelsfilmer
      @Joelsfilmer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The vehicles are all technically owned by the Swedish armed forces so they might not be subject to quite as strict regulations as vehicles in some other museums. My guess is that the gun tubes aren't welded shut but the firing pins, breech blocks or some other critical components are removed and locked away in a safe.

    What about the "mälardalen" (the Mälar Valley) batallions? They had on only one mechanised infantry company in APCs, the other rifle company was lorried (trucks for the US) in lorries with off road capability either the ltgb 938 or ltgb 939 (ltgb=lastterrängbil or load carrying vehicle with off road capability). The difference was whether it had a synchronized gearbox (939) or not (938).

      @@petter5721 I think what he means is that it should be referred to as a license produced TN-HP, rather than license produced Pz. 38(t), as Pz.38(t) was the designation of the tank after it had been stolen by the Germans.

      @jacobabrisz9272 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@azgarogly I would gladly accept that what happened in the past is unfair, but we have the ability to be fair in the way we remember it. One could just as easily say license produced version of the TN-HP, well known by it's designation in German service as the Pz.38(t). Then you're not only more fair, you're also more accurate and precise. As a trained historian I assure you that being precise in your descriptions saves later scholars a lot of trouble.

    • @azgarogly
      @azgarogly 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jacobabrisz9272 As a trained historian you should also recognise that not only the historical accuracy is important, but also a perception of things. Which is indeed part of the history.
      And "restoration of fairness" might seem logical from a political point of view, but it has to be actively opposed by a historian. As a job of a historian is preservation of history, not "fixing" the unfairness of it.
      Writing an article about rather famous American actress you can refer her as Norma Mortenson and that would be formally correct. But you will only put future scholars on a wrong track, as that is not the name she is known by.
