Ah, I knew Loki had ties to wolves in Norse lore, but I never noticed he had wolves on his god statue; that's cool! Maybe it is just cosmetic for the key art / god portrait then. But it's just so prominently featured :P
I love the new Gaia design and I agree the Titans should look more otherworldly than the Olympians. I mean, if Kronos looks the way he does then I think more Titans should look fantastical. But I had no problems with Gaia's previous ingame model(the female wrestler comment was funny though). I had heard another youtuber calling the original half-naked using non appreciative language but the ancient Greeks did not frown upon the naked body as, say, the Americans do today. I don't see any clothes on the new Gaia, maybe she likes the warm, good rays of the sun on her plant-ish body? I wonder if the Titan units will look like their patron god? Cahnces are small but I would thrive well regardless of either instance. So far we have seen Cerberus/Kerberos of the Greek, who is very Hades aligned, and what looks like the successor to the Atlantean titan from the old game. Thanks for the video and have a good one all!
I think the new design is an improvement based on what she represent in the myth. Im happy with the change. I think everything so far looks like an improvement. The one thing I did think about is how they will balance unlimited god powers... and Atlantis. In the base game atlantis had charges on certain spells... if everyone now gets all god powers on cooldown I think its going to be interesting. Will everything get that treatment like ceasefires, and that turn all villagers into warriors thing the norse have? How long will cooldowns be and so on. It will be really interesting to see what they do with this. I always enjoyed Mythology so heres hoping its a big improvement in alla areas.
Something that amuses me is that I saw her on the cover art and went "Oh, that's Gaia", despite never seeing that rendition, ever. It was a good choice to go for the more tree-dryad style
let's hope this game won't end like warcraft reforged did, I remember watching of units and screenshots before release of WC3reforged could not wait for it...and then we got shit..
There's always the possibility! That said, all of the Definitive Editions that World's Edge has put out have been amazing, so until they give me a reason to think so, I will have high hopes for AoM:R. :)
Can't wait to play this! Age of mythology has been a huge part of my childhood. Just like age of empires 3 i hope they manage to add new civs. Aztec would be an obvious one, might be a bit overdone but would be awesome. Mesopotamian and hindi might also be really cool. Would add insane amounts of content.
I hope the game does well; because as they've shown with the AoE2 and AoE3 definitive editions, they're happy to add new factions if there's a sufficiently large customer base! :)
they said that population will be increased and imo the hall its gonna be available for norse like other buildings gonna be for the other civs for making up the pop counter like 20 pop and you are able to build like 2 or 3, i dont know, but, thats my guess.
I've heard somewhere that spear units were originally planned for Norse in the original game, hence the Swine Array upgrade has spears, but upgrades Ulfsarks. Whatever the case, it's nice to have them in this version.
I hope they fix some let's say things that are not logical. Giant Grant Games pointed out and I agree with him some things that don't add up in the campaign and game. Why didn't we get the blessing of Hades in the end of the underworld mission with the relics? Why did we play as some gods that we were not supposed to like playing with Set in the mission when we were trying to get the piece of Osiris in our base when Set is the one that tricked Osiris? Why doesn't the Egypt crocodile unit have Sobek as a god to which we tech up when we choose to get it, and it's name is wrong etc.? I hope they fix those things so that they are more myth accurate.
@@RooTheGuy I took your advice in earnest and did google the following: "Greek women" "ancient Greek Women" "athena" "Greek women Paintings" and all of them did NOT look like the Athena in this game, then i googled "middle-eastern women" and they did look like her. So i would really honestly just take your own advice. (Correction: I Use DuckDuckGo, just easier to say "googled")
@@RooTheGuy My Response was deleted? I wont type it all out again. I did do as you asked, multiple different searches, then did a search for middle-eastern woman, and it didnt fit with greek woman or athena, and it fit well with middle-eastern. So do it yourself, and see what you find.
@@dimajo3057 Please google paintings of Empress Theodora and Fayum portraits. All of those paintings based on real, once living ancients peoples that look like Athena, minus the long hair. And I did as you asked. And for some reason the peoples in the near east of Lebanon, Armenia, Georgia,Syria and Greece look essentially the same. Almost as if they have have geographic, cultural, and ethnic proximity for thousands of years.
one of the best videos about AoM Retold content that we have so far. Subscribed!
Wow, thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Wolves has always been a part of Loki's identity (in AoM at least) if you look closely at his god-statue in game you'll see 2 wolves by his feet.

GREAT video!! Thanks for all the info.
Thank you for watching! :)
Prostagma?
Eis bollei!

I think the new Norse building is a redesigned longhouse. And the niffelheim building is a temple
I don't know.. the original game everything looks so good.. we will have to see if Microsoft does a good job with the Retold
One of the last gods to pick is Tyr,(thor, odin and loki can pick him) his unite is "Fenris Wolf Brood". I think this is the wolf we see.

Wolf is Fenrir/Fenris and is Loki's son.
❤❤❤
no Hades on main picture )));
Something to look forward to, at least! :)
The AoE2 definitive edition had about 9 DLC's I think, he might be locked behind another paywall...But I'm hoping not
Loki is the father or fenrir and the fenrir wolf brood.
3:17 well its statue They can make her anything with imagination. No one can see true form of god, because they can choice any form.
Retold open in steam?
This Loki reminds me of Floki from Vikings series
Lets hope they don't zog it up too much
There's always a first time, but World's Edge has not let us down yet with their remasters! 🙏 (Though this one's more of a remake)
at looong last
"Eis bollei!"
Dunno man
I find old loki art was hc af
And that norse building is probably temple
Dunno im mixed on art, looks cartoony a bit, and with less fidelity
The building look like from aoe online game.
I strongly hope there have new campaign / new hero / new troop ,not just remake🥺

Athena looks like a kid and middle-eastern. Not into her design. Rest is nice.
Please google greek woman

Old art style is better. Hard to beat it artist draw very well.
Why don't you talk properly?
