Restoring A Heavily Fractured Tooth! With A Post and E-Max Crown

- Patient came to the clinic with a fractured tooth.. patient went from a different dentist. I had to restore the tooth and polish the teeth before we start her orthodontic treatment. The caries of the adjacent teeth was restored along the process.
P.S. the ferrule was not perfect. it didn't achieve the 2mm minimum.. but its the best we have.. and this core is bonded not cemented.. so ferrule will make it stronger. but it can survive without it..

This practice is harder to do than an extraction and implant there. This should be a more expensive treatment than an implant and a crown.
Not only is what this dentist did was more expensive than an implant it also won't last nearly as long 🙄

@@JamesJames-li2wv Implants are incredibly expensive in the Philippines (up to 2000 USD), that is the treatment option for rich people and celebrities. This is just a post & core with a crown ,$300-$400 job with laboratory tops.
I had a bad experience having a crown placed on a broken tooth, seeing this process and the professionalism and care put into your work is very satisfying. I wish the same care had been taken in my own situation but unfortunately it was very rushed and within about 3 months the crown had developed a hole right in the center of it. Hopefully when I can finally afford to have it fixed I am lucky enough to find someone that will take the same kind of consideration and care with the new crown and buildup I’ll likely need. Thank you for caring about the outcome and longevity of the crown for your patient. Though I don’t know her I hope this crown will be a successful and long lasting restoration for her. ❤️

@@DrArkhedeLeon Here in the USA everything is crazy, they do not care or show the professionalism they should for the money we are paying, here a simple filling is +$300 and they want to do 10 at the same time to charge you $3000 when we know time matter in this case. most of the time its not about care. there are plenty of docs who do care but no matter how hard they try they can't do amazing work they can do average work at best. its about skill to be able to operate with precision and having the IQ to plan out and create the work. also knowing the best materials and technicians to create the long lasting beautiful work.

I have seen many of these teeth condemned because the treating dentist didnt want to do a post or just didn't believe in them. I find its very rewarding to place these posts and give a patient their tooth back again. Posts arent perfect but they do work. Nice job

I could only WISH with all my heart that someone would help me save my tooth like you have.. I have a ceramic crown on the tooth two over from the canine and it’s wiggly which makes me think it’s cracked at the gum line. I am very distressed and scurred from Covid to see anyone. Truthfully, I ll probably lose it and some dr will want to fit me with a 6000.00 implant. Wished you were in Texas sir. 😔 been only able to eat mush food for months which is distressing my inners ( sorry , TMI ). Love your skills

Here in Ireland we would never use multiple fibres for a post. Is it common in Germany/ Japan?
@@binksee No we don't use multiple fibres. We drill a cavity with special drills and then use one fitted post.
I'm practicing in America and have never seen that type of post either.

It will heal..the cause of the inflammation was the bacteria inside the crown and its mobility.. with the rubber dam i can take an impression and cement it without having a problem..and because bacteria and irritants are no longer there..the gums will heal..

@@ki11aqueen5 how did it not? The gum was inflamed due to the tooth infection....maybe try reading it over and over until you get it?
@@orangeswild3699 dentists need to let the gums heal first before doing any work, especially putting permanent cement near the diseased gums. Simply saying "it will heal" doesnt answer the question.
The amount of times you would need to do that before actually performing it on a patient must be mental

Hi Doc, can you pls share the periapical radiograph of that case. I want to check if the RCT is good because you decided not to retreat it. In my opinion, you should have retreated the tooth since there’s a leak in the previous final restoration and presence of caries.

Actually it does not.. tooth doesn't feel anything anymore due to the root canal treatment.. the anesthesia was just for the gums..

@@kikyotv7128 depends on the country. I would do this treatment and it costs you 550 euros (it's just post, build-up, emax crown, nothing too crazy)

I got 2 fractured teeth from a car crash last February. Now I always look at the mirror in case my teeth starts changing color, I need to quickly go to my dentist to prevent it become rotten as my dentist told me. I never thought it can get so bad like this tho 😮😮😮

In America, it will be a arm and a leg. So got to decided what you want more, a new tooth or loosing a arm or a leg.

good job , a little advice if you accept , you can use no:12 lancets to clean up excessive dual cure cement in the aproximal or borders, you can use dental floss with the speical knot for the rubber dam fixation for adjacent teeth , thank you for your share Dr. Arkhe.

Also, like that you place the names of the materials you used because this will make things easier for dentists to know and duplicate the things you do. Truly a great job!!!

Just had this done similar situation I was scared they would have to do drill and put a metal post but thankfully it was saved 😢 now I have my temp and waiting on my crown to be made next week
