I stumbled onto this movie today. Very poignant....and incredibly sad, the way some people treat others. I lost my second baby 3 months into my pregnancy. Then lost my only child when he was 25 years old. That was 12 years ago. Each day here is another day closer to being with them both.
Ive watched this everytime it came on my tv and each time my heart wretched for Rose. Underrated movies of all time. Deserved more. If the movie can make me this sad, im not sure if i can handle the novel.
Rose was finally reunited with her son after 50 years of being separated by the evil Father Gaunt. I knew Dr. Grene was her son before he found the cross given to Rose by Michael because he looked like his real father Michael. So sad but a beautiful ending.

Very touching movie...beautiful heartfelt song...I always dream of find a love that true that is pure unwavering unchanging unconditional and only for me ...love is a beautiful feeling to experience...in the next lifetime i wish to can find it
I think I cried more when this song came on during the credits than I did when I learned the guy was her son. One of the most heart wrenching movies I have ever seen. Tells a tale of why our mental health system is so messed up. When there was a place to “treat” people, it was often used to punish people (wives, ex-girlfriends, scorned lover, etc.). Could not keep places like that open and women were largely the most affected. An alternative has never been developed. That said, will someone please successfully beg someone to sell this song? Please!!!! PS. Kelly should have won an award for that one.
