DUDE THAT WAS SO FRIGGIN CLOSE!! Several times I’ve looked and thought, okay that one has the upper hand and will probably win - only for you to pivot the camera around the skirmish to reveal AN ENTIRE F-U ARMY just big enough to even out the battlefield. THEN THERE WAS THAT TIME AT 1:19 where we get a glimpse of - the main friggin character apparently who is absolutely *commanding* the southern side of the battle. Only for him to not show up in the second half. Like, wth?
Unfair would be the spearmen actually using spears. Think about it. Spearmen in back rows using their spears for multi rank fighting while the frontline rank uses swords. The Axemen would have 'almost' double the volume of attacks coming at them. which may either kill or stun many them for a killshot/interrupt their own attacks against the spearmen The spearmen already have the advantage of anti cav. you don't need to give them multi rank fighting.
Sturgian heavy spearmen, are my favorite infantry to use overall. The lamellar they rock i feel os just superior armor overall allowing them to tank better, and the massive shields they rock have stopped more than one infantry charge in its tracks, allowing me to just watch as green kill notices FILL the top right of my screen
Spear units were trash in vanilla Warband but in Bannerlord i see that they are actually viable now not just against cavalry because of Brace but also they stand their own against infantry as well by switching to swords when they are clogged. Can't wait to play this game.
Heavy axemen definitely need something to boost their utility, because I’ll take a spear for cav defense over a handful of underwhelming throwing axes all day.
No matter what video I watch or where I google everyone says that the heavy spearmen are better than the heavy axemen but in all of my custom battles no matter what I do the heavy axemen win
Heavy Axe vs Heavy Spear are about even but for general scenarios Heavy Axe are better specially against Cavalry. Spears are just so bad on foot in the game. Heavy Spearmen looks cool thats probably why people are being bias.
@@cleoarchwhiza9006 yeah fair enough that makes sense they do look pretty cool considering most the armour in the game is very goofy and makes you look like an 1800s cross dresser
Axeman from what i've seen are actually better against armored Infantry Especially shielded ones, they would beat other Tier 5 Shielded Infantry that the Spearmen wouldn't even if barely.
Axemen are the better infantry of the two as they are more well rounded and are way better against cavalry compare to spearmen. It's funny, the Heavy spearmen's anti cavalry weapon is what makes em perform horribly against cavalry.

I forgot to take the general unit off lol thanks for watching!
Spearmen *exclusively uses swords* feels unfair somehow :)
Yeah not much I can do about that one:(

This is gold, I mean, better to produce only spearman, because even with the swords they perform better
problem is when they prefer fighting infantry with spear instead of melee
Imagine if the back ranks started stabbing past their front ranks with spears.
It would be a bloody massacre.

Warband had a brace for the spearman 🤔granted I could never do it as a player but you could command it of your troops I’m sure.
how do you set up these custom battles? every time I try I can't choose if I want to be a observer and I can't get both side to charge
There's only one way to find out .....fiiight!
is there any reason to use non spear infantry?
I guess for a siege battle spears would not be as good but overall I think its better to have spears in your army

I agree, throwing axes are so underwhelming especially when you compare them to troops with javelins
Nords vs Vaegirs
