You can see him get away with a lot of stuff in this game that he can’t get away with in the NFL. His line bought him time, but he was slow to process and often threw behind receivers or checked down
I. See whoever draft Bryce Young for this upcoming season is going to be so happy that they got him on the football team to lead your franchise into the future.
Watching this game and the one against LSU, I can't help but notice how bad a job the backs do at pass blocking. In particular, Gibbs's inability to identify his responsibility lead to several sacks and even more incompletions over the two games.
Well I watched a bit of the panthers last game against the dolphins and Bryce looked pretty good to me. Wtf do I know though. Plus I only watched a quarter or two
@Thomas Whitney I see him throw alot of inaccurate throws every time he has pressure when he's bot getting sacked. I saw 1 good throw with people in his face that's it.
The TWP was actually on the receiver not coming back to the ball. Former NFL QB JT O'Sullivan did a good breakdown on that play. He was mostly just efficient and had very few misses. One was on 3rd and very long with pressure in his face. His pocket movement was overall very good
I’m just not seeing special. The arm talent is nothing to write home about and he does not handle pressure up the middle well. He floats balls in the flat and appears to check down a lot. On the positive side, he’s accurate with a quick release and he does seem to process quickly. I see Tua 2.0 here-good but not great.
Not a good game for BY. Held the ball too long, had some miss throws, and there weren't any wow throws either. A lot of scrambling and improv plays. That won't cut it at the next level. I'm telling you, CJ is better. People like the "sexy" extended plays, but that doesn't last long in the NFL. Only a few QBs can do it in the NFL. He will get destroyed at the next level doing that.
In the end this has more to do with where they end up, but I predict stroud is most likely to have the best career in this class, Richardson has a chance to be the best if he goes to a Seattle/Baltimore type culture, and young will potentially be the 4th best QB behind those two and possibly hooker. I think hooker would be considered a top 15 talent if he didn't tear his ACL
The more I watch his tape the more I believe the Panthers go with stroud, I believe that as long as stroud goes to a somewhat competent franchise he will have a much better career than Bryce. He's not brees or Wilson, he'll be solid for 2-4 years but nothing more.
I'm telling you guys, this guy is just Johnny Manziel. People excused Manziel's bad NFL transition as being due to his personality, nonsense. Manziel was a guy that used every bit of his athletic ability to be great in college, but just didn't have the size/arm/speed to keep playing that way in the NFL. What Young does well is he extends plays when he's uncertain. This is reason #1 I dont' like him. He's not in command of the offense throughout the play. When he gets uncertain he starts rolling because he's trying to gain 2-5 seconds and that pairs well with his elite 'see it, throw it' ability that I assume the S2 is measuring. When he sees a guy come open he can accurately deliver downfield. But he's not actually good at reading defenses/coverages. He doesn't recognize that, oh, coverage is this, so this guy should be open at this point. Staring down receivers is one of the most OVERRATTED red flags in all of football. Tom Brady stares down receivers all the time, because he knows they're going to come open, and it's his elite accuracy that hits finds those small windows that he's anticipating. Bryce Young checks his first read, or read progression, and if someone isn't 'wide open' he starts rolling outside the pocket. Here he's forced more in the pocket and looks terrible for the first half of the game so Alabama schemes up more protection. The TD @6:28 looks great, excitiing, except he doesn't see what he wants, tries to bail so he creates his own pressure, scrambles and makes 6 seconds when a true pocket passer could have just hit his second read in 2.5. The windows get tighter in the NFL. His panic, extend it, see it, complete it style of play really only works for guys with elite athleticism, which he doesn't have. I don't think he'll be terrible, but sacks and panic interceptions are going to be all over the place. If he starts all year he will lead the league in INTs
Alabama won because of Scott Campbell's horrible officiating crew. Obvious all the talent is leaving the Big12. I am not even a fan of UT. I just want competent officiating.
Agree. This the second video I watched and I am coming away unimpressed. He's too easily rattled with pressure, his accuracy his ok not great, he has an above avg arm but not great. He's small. He's athletic which will help him but he prob only runs a 4.5. I wouldn't touch this guy in top 10 let alone #1

That roughing the passer/targeting call @4:02 is ridiculous lol

No. Bryce bad. Stroud good.
This isn’t aging too well lol
Bryce just got benched for Andy Dalton today so…. there’s that.
Please keep making qb videos
8:22 is an absolute clutch moment by Bryce
He would have been destroyed in the nfl
Yeah man. Several under crazy pressure. He may dominate as soon as first year.
@@landonbowman1719 He would have been protected in the NFL. He will never see as much pressure as he saw in this video again.

Hoping Panthers won’t get him. He’s be great for the Texans since most of his former teammates are there
😂😂 keep pounding 💪

Damn his WRs sucked lol
They all running like it’s 4th qtr that’s why Bryce an gibbs had to carry the load 🤦🏼🤣

5:57 lol
He is special
This was not good tape for B Young. Sure there were 2 drops, but there weren't any big time throws here, and at least one turnover worthy play.
I would agree but I think he shows excellent pocket presence and awareness of the blitz, Texas's defense also looked very good here.
@Thomas Whitney I see him throw alot of inaccurate throws every time he has pressure when he's bot getting sacked. I saw 1 good throw with people in his face that's it.
@@pauliej345 he’s so great at evading the rush on 3rd down. He has incredible pocket presence and needs to work on sliding protection
You missed the little things. He shows toughness in the pocket. Resilience. Poise. Accuracy in big moments. Underrated tape.

That's how long he holds the ball every game, Texas just got pressure.

i dont understand the hype. screen, screen, screen, screen. balls thrown 10 yards over throw over throw over throw over throw or behind receiver.
That’s all he can do he can’t make nfl throws the scheme he is in hides his weaknesses Alabama was in a lot of close games because of him
He is going to get crushed in the NFL.
