Sean O'malley, he has been in the UFC for 5 years and only fought ranked opponents in his two most recent fights and went 1-1, prior to that he was fighting literal cans like Kris Moutinho, Thomas Almeida, Eddie Wineland, etc on PPV just to give him a platform to shine.

It is good business to have star prospects start off with cans. It’s a win win for the UFC. If they win they’ll most likely look good doing it and if they lose or struggle to win the UFC knows to move on

Don't feel like it's really fair to say Bo Nickal is a cane crusher. Yeah he hasn't foguht good guys but he's only had 2 fights in the UFC most guys don't fight good comp in their first few fights. Kevin Lee is a can crusher, he was so much better than all of his opponents, that they were all just cans compared to him. Same goes for Belal even if he clears out the welterweight Division

Not completely true, his fight in bkfc really does tell you about his level. Perry caught him early cuz MVP needs reads. Then MVP smoked him for 3 rounds, started wearing it in the 5th and went to sudden death. Mike Perry was a veteran for BKFC and understood the pace better. All of his weaknesses and his stregnths were fully flushed out and thats why MVPs here, BKFC was hard for him.
Bo Nickel will get a title shot off beating a can probably.
I mean Gaziev was embarassing but to say he hasnt beat anyone when he holds wins against Kirill Kornilov + Darko Stosic who are very credible Heavyweight Fighters outside of the UFC is laughable

Merab vs O’Malley(if he wins) would be good main event for Noche UFC at the Sphere in September because it’s the closest you could get to two Mexicans headlining a card on Mexican Independence Day. I don’t think Grasso will headline because WMMA isn’t good for marketing, at least not for something big like the Sphere. Moreno and Yair, the two biggest Mexican stars, aren’t champions, so they can’t headline it either.
