I just wanna add my 2 cents if it helps, if you encounter the “Something went wrong, An unknown error occurred" at 40%. Just restart your iPhone and open up whatsapp again to continue the process that worked for me. Thanks for the video it did work 100% after all.

@@lol-wr2jgmy situation may have been a bit different due to the fact that i have an esim only in the 15pro. I believe i had the esim activated on the iphone but i think that even if you keep it in the android it shouldn’t cause an issue. You may restart your phone perhaps as the first time i tried to restore the backup it took forever and lagged. I tried it again and it worked (after waiting for more than 30 minutes i think)
This is the only way that worked for me. No need to buy apps. Just a simple workaround. Searched the whole internet to get finally here. This was my last attempt and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much.

Worked for me the third time around! Thank you so much! Things done differently the third (successful!) time: 1. Updated iOS 2. Didn't try to transfer anything else, only WhatsApp
Don't spend your money on stupid apps to transfer your whatsapp, this is the ONLY way to do it Great video (Do it on a weekend, it will take 2-4 hours at least)

Thanks for your video! I followed your steps and reset my iPhone. After launching whatsapp and following the on-screen instructions on iPhone, it did not show "move chats from Android" as like your video, but only "restore from iCloud", which I didn't have before. Updates: Finally succeed at third try. At the "Transfer Data" on Move to ios page, directly choose whatsapp first. After finished transfer chat, then only choose what other you would like to transfer like contacts etc. Double confirm that there shows number of GBs under whatsapp. Then follow all the instructions as in the video. Done!

Thank you sp much for this, it worked on my iPhone 16. My experience with waiting The initial part where your android is compiling the chats took maybe 10-15 minutes. It didn't get stuck at 40% like some. The part where your android is transferring to its took the longest. It got stuck at " 1 minute left " for almost 40 minutes. So I canceled the transfer. I then restarted my android and connected it to the power and switched off all background data and restarted the whole process (don't worry it doesn't need to compile the data again) And it took me about 15-20 minutes to complete

Good evening sir , after backing up the icloud ,i have an issue at 2:15 min after i put my passcode in , the screen shows uploading data to icloud and estimated time with additional option to skip back up . I wait for it to finish but it never finishes ,it ends by saying uploading to icloud failed ,with options erase anyway and don't erase iphone . What should i do ? Thanks for your help! I followed your steps and reset my iPhone again after I had my WhatsApp chats transferred. Then I selected Restore from iCloud. However only WhatsApp showed up. I think it's because I selected an option to restore from a backup I created from the first reset. What should I do? Could I go back to the original backup? I did a third reset but I could not find the original backup before any reset.
Friend - the idea is 1. backup (backup 1) iphone then factory data reset. 2. Transfer WhatsApp from android to iphone and transfer whatsapp from iphone to icloud. 3. Factory reset again, this time you no need to backup your phone (in case you backed up by mistake it will be backup 2 and will only have whatsapp). 4. Restore your phone from backup 1. 5. Hi, I've encountered a problem. I have followed every step the same as you, however the menu at 5:59 doesn't show up. I've tried the process twice, but no menu shows up.
Dude - disconnect, charge both phones, restart both phones - then follow this video again. if you are not getting then it is not connected via wire, instead it is connection via wifi.

Explained all that to ask this question: When I reseted factory/ Transferred WhatsApp and works fine,, at the same time all my app is already on the phone and photos and I hit the back up chat inside WhatsApp, SO what is the reason to back to factory settings for the second time? I would like to understand the reason behind it please.
Dude - On esim phone you should get an option to Keep Mobile Plans/Keep Data Plans, please choose it. Settings' > 'General' > 'Reset' > 'Erase All Content and Settings' > 'Erase iPhone' >'Erase All and Keep Mobile Plans'. If it is new phone, you can do it in one go. But if you want to do it on iphone that is already having data, then you have to reset twice. 1st for getting whatsapp from android to iphone. 2nd for getting iphone data (that was there before start of the video) back to iphone. Thanks, it was the only thing that worked free, every other step was demanding money. Also the backup included everything. I backed up data on my pc through itunes. But the process took many hours. Better to do it on a weekend. If restoring data from iCloud on whatsapp gets stuck in last step, then close and then reopen the app, it will continue again.

you can connect a cable between the two to speed up the process, but make sure the android is charged because it will suck the android battery dry, unless you select move files option.

Hello, after I select WhatsApp in Move to iOS app (4:20), WhatsApp finishes "Getting chats ready" completely, but when it comes back to Move to iOS app, under WhatsApp is written "No data exists", there is no check mark against WhatsApp and "Continue" button is greyed out. I'm trying to transfer only WhatsApp, nothing else. Any ideas how to solve this?

That should automatically restore as its there in iph backup when all other apps data r being downloaded or restore why only wats app chat has to be restored separately? It obviously worked til step 4 but when I restored iCloud backup ii could not see the messages again. 2) it appears whatsapp has overwritten and I'm unable to see older messages in android. I hope you now have 2 set of whatsapp messages. you can have any one not both. you can restore your old messages from android and let the 2 years worth of messages go. or you have forget about android messages and go ahead with what you have in iphone.

@@lol-wr2jgmy situation may have been a bit different due to the fact that i have an esim only in the 15pro. I believe i had the esim activated on the iphone but i think that even if you keep it in the android it shouldn’t cause an issue. You may restart your phone perhaps as the first time i tried to restore the backup it took forever and lagged. I tried it again and it worked (after waiting for more than 30 minutes i think)
This is the only way that worked for me. No need to buy apps. Just a simple workaround. Searched the whole internet to get finally here. This was my last attempt and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much.

Things done differently the third (successful!) time:
1. Updated iOS
2. Didn't try to transfer anything else, only WhatsApp
Don't spend your money on stupid apps to transfer your whatsapp, this is the ONLY way to do it

Thanks for your video! I followed your steps and reset my iPhone. After launching whatsapp and following the on-screen instructions on iPhone, it did not show "move chats from Android" as like your video, but only "restore from iCloud", which I didn't have before.
Updates: Finally succeed at third try. At the "Transfer Data" on Move to ios page, directly choose whatsapp first. After finished transfer chat, then only choose what other you would like to transfer like contacts etc. Double confirm that there shows number of GBs under whatsapp. Then follow all the instructions as in the video. Done!

Thank you so much for this. Honestly so disappointing of apple/google to make switching platforms such a pain. Ridiculous that you can only set up whatsapp while setting up an iPhone, why can you not just transfer the data when you want to, without using Apple's crappy app, is beyond me...

My experience with waiting
The initial part where your android is compiling the chats took maybe 10-15 minutes. It didn't get stuck at 40% like some.
The part where your android is transferring to its took the longest. It got stuck at " 1 minute left " for almost 40 minutes. So I canceled the transfer. I then restarted my android and connected it to the power and switched off all background data and restarted the whole process (don't worry it doesn't need to compile the data again)
And it took me about 15-20 minutes to complete
Like many other ppl here I must say BIG Thank you to you man! I was really feeling that both phones are testing my patient skills , while trying to transfer chats beetwen them for about 2 days and searching for some advices in many forums, help guidance etc.... I'm grateful for your tutorial video, everything worked exactly same way on my phones :) Cheers bro!

Good evening sir , after backing up the icloud ,i have an issue at 2:15 min after i put my passcode in , the screen shows uploading data to icloud and estimated time with additional option to skip back up . I wait for it to finish but it never finishes ,it ends by saying uploading to icloud failed ,with options erase anyway and don't erase iphone .
What should i do ?

Dear Friend - 2:15 is actually where we erase iPhone data, since you’ve already backed up, you should skip back up and erase any way.
As an additional step, or if your iCloud backup is not working, you can actually do a complete backup of iPhone in your PC with below video:

Thanks for your help! I followed your steps and reset my iPhone again after I had my WhatsApp chats transferred. Then I selected Restore from iCloud. However only WhatsApp showed up. I think it's because I selected an option to restore from a backup I created from the first reset. What should I do? Could I go back to the original backup? I did a third reset but I could not find the original backup before any reset.
Friend - the idea is
1. backup (backup 1) iphone then factory data reset.
2. Transfer WhatsApp from android to iphone and transfer whatsapp from iphone to icloud.
3. Factory reset again, this time you no need to backup your phone (in case you backed up by mistake it will be backup 2 and will only have whatsapp).
4. Restore your phone from backup 1.
5. Restore WhatsApp from iCloud.

Hi, I've encountered a problem. I have followed every step the same as you, however the menu at 5:59 doesn't show up. I've tried the process twice, but no menu shows up.
Dude - disconnect, charge both phones, restart both phones - then follow this video again. if you are not getting then it is not connected via wire, instead it is connection via wifi.

When I reseted factory/ Transferred WhatsApp and works fine,, at the same time all my app is already on the phone and photos and I hit the back up chat inside WhatsApp, SO what is the reason to back to factory settings for the second time? I would like to understand the reason behind it please.
Dude - On esim phone you should get an option to Keep Mobile Plans/Keep Data Plans, please choose it.
Settings' > 'General' > 'Reset' > 'Erase All Content and Settings' > 'Erase iPhone' >'Erase All and Keep Mobile Plans'.
If it is new phone, you can do it in one go. But if you want to do it on iphone that is already having data, then you have to reset twice.
1st for getting whatsapp from android to iphone.
2nd for getting iphone data (that was there before start of the video) back to iphone.

Thanks, it was the only thing that worked free, every other step was demanding money. Also the backup included everything. I backed up data on my pc through itunes. But the process took many hours. Better to do it on a weekend. If restoring data from iCloud on whatsapp gets stuck in last step, then close and then reopen the app, it will continue again.

Brother - It doesn’t matter much as long as it can receive verification sms from WhatsApp. I moved the sim later when all processes are done.

you can connect a cable between the two to speed up the process, but make sure the android is charged because it will suck the android battery dry, unless you select move files option.
sir i would like to know that n 6th step after we backup apps from icloud will all the app data is retrieved like logins and in case of phone pe bank account or should i need to login into all the restored apps again
Dude - Data will be restored however some apps may ask for pw again.

Hello, after I select WhatsApp in Move to iOS app (4:20), WhatsApp finishes "Getting chats ready" completely, but when it comes back to Move to iOS app, under WhatsApp is written "No data exists", there is no check mark against WhatsApp and "Continue" button is greyed out. I'm trying to transfer only WhatsApp, nothing else. Any ideas how to solve this?

2. When we restore iph backup why do we need to restore chat backup of wats app separately? That should automatically restore as its there in iph backup when all other apps data r being downloaded or restore why only wats app chat has to be restored separately? Unfortunately it didn't work for me. Whatsapp just don't give me the old messages or the option to load them. 6 hours transferring everything but still it looks like it didn't transferred anything. Don't know what else to do :(

Thank you for your video. I have two questions. I haven't used my android in 2 years and I have been using same number in both. I tried move to ios initially but it didn't work like thiw earlier and I ended up using my iPhone anyways. I managed to transfer everything except my text messages and whatsapp.
1) I'm trying to copy my sms messages from old android to iphone iphone. It obviously worked til step 4 but when I restored iCloud backup ii could not see the messages again.
2) it appears whatsapp has overwritten and I'm unable to see older messages in android. Can you please respond?
I hope you now have 2 set of whatsapp messages.
you can have any one not both.
you can restore your old messages from android and let the 2 years worth of messages go.
or you have forget about android messages and go ahead with what you have in iphone.
