I have seen this song played hundreds of times with many different lineups and these two minds were melded in this version. Two guitars as one embodiment of the song. The point counterpoint, the interaction, the phrase start and finish between the two players was beyond anything normally seen anywhere even for this song or among the Allman Brothers members throughout the years and I’m 64 this year and have seen the brothers many times. Tedeschi was playing meaningful lines and has blossomed!
I took care of a musician’s PR and he told me stories about Allman Bros sneaking in Daytona and Jax bars to listen. There was a shooting one night he told me. I miss the music biz. I’m glad TTB brings these legendary pieces of art to life again. I was born too late I think for the times. Spread the Blues!
They’ve even got me going way back and listening to some of the covers they do. Find myself listening and watching old film to Delaney and Bonnie w Eric Clapton, Dave Mason. This is magic w Warren Hayes.
This band is sooo unique--- like NO 1else out there nowadays!❤ Caught up w/ them in KnoxvilleTn at the historic Tn Theater- only descriptor I can come up with-- " ethereal" truly Derek and Susan are making World music 🎶 history😮
What I love about this video is Warren absolutely crushed this and it looked like Derek was gonna let him have it until he went and broke the string crushing the end of his solo. Just incredible you can tell they are bonded in brotherhood
I cant believe they were right here in my stinkin state. Im going!!!! Had no idea its this.. i miss the Allman bros sooo much.. we had dickie betts tix Nd they canceled the tour for the year. Damn wuhan...road trip for sure!!!

The Allman Brothers - Duane, Gregg, Dickey, Berry, Butch, Jaimoe. Only Dickey and Jaimoe are still with us. And yes, you absolutely must see TTB live!! They will knock your socks off!! :)
Must check out at 11:53 where Derek shreds his guitar and breaks a string and continues on without missing a note. Also, check out Warren used Derek’s style of the slide by plucking with single finger. This band is truly amazing and this particular song shows everyone that they are truly unique and playing at another level not known by other BANDS!!!!
Well of course you mean Duane, Barry, Greg and Butch are still very much alive in our hearts.Its sad that Duane wasn't even around long enough to really reach his full potential and that Dickey left the Band due to " artistic and lifestyle " difference.One of the GOAT ALL American Bands ever!❤
Derek is just light years better when he feeds off Warren and vice versa, they are not Duane and Dickey, not gunna go down that road, but i cannot think of any 2 guitarists alive today that feed off each other as well as these 2. But lets be honest with such a masterpiece as this to work with, they are half way there. Susan just sits back and lets these brothers converse.
I’ll be 90 God willing and still listening to the Brothers .
