Did you know that the NS GP38-2 # 5098 was a part of history. It was the very lat train that ran on the old Norfolk & Western / Norfolk Southern Farmville,Virginia mainline from Burkeville,Virginia to Pamplin,Virginia. Today the old mainline is High Bridge Trail State Park.
Strange to see these handled as a stand alone shipment. The RR bills them, extremely high too as if they are moved that way. When I first hired, we did that too, but then NS started putting them on the headend of large (150 - 180 car) mty trains. I suspect these must be close to their destination for them to be handled as shown.
great train video of high and wide moves ...
specially the conrail engine pulling an odd looking rail car ...
very cool looking load on first NS train. Love the low boy type car
Woah. You saw a CEFX Ex-Burlington Northern unit? I've seen Ex-Burlington Northern units in white face, but only one in cascade green. Nice catch.

I live in the Piedmont Division. I see a lot of these freights. Trucks can't haul this much weight at one time.
Amazing stuff you have going on!!
I also like the Norfolk Southern High Hood GP30-2.

Awesome catches
3:05 what is that little car?
That's a scale test car. They are built to a precise weight and used to calibrate scales that measure loaded rail cars.
awsome
AVON,PA
Kind of unusual to see a scale test car in between two other cars. I suppose those are wood chip gons?
Oh, and I've only seen like six Norfolk Southern freight trains. Well, because I live in an area that's mostly BNSF.
Nice video and catches!
