The measures implemented don't even work and were never part of pandemic responses in previous pandemics, for a good reason, so even if the pandemic had been more serious, they still would not have been warranted. Others might or might not have been. Also, hospitals could do with more funding. Flu season is a problem most years. The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms has written a bunch on this as well as filing Charter challenges. You can't just suspend normal day-to-day life because you're afraid or just feel like it. Political freedoms are also necessary for public health.

provincial legislatures have considerable power .In my copy of the Charter , that is on pages 33 and 34. ( Later copies of the Charter may have it on different pages .)
@@williameddy1662 If you're going to suspend Charter rights for an emergency, you have to meet a bunch of criteria which this pandemic never did. The measures implemented don't even work and were never part of pandemic responses in previous pandemics, for a good reason, so even if the pandemic had been more serious, they still would not have been warranted. Others might or might not have been. Also, hospitals could do with more funding. Flu season is a problem most years.
The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms has written a bunch on this as well as filing Charter challenges. You can't just suspend normal day-to-day life because you're afraid or just feel like it. Political freedoms are also necessary for public health.
