I am listening to this about a month after it was published I am 60 and beginning my Medical Coding journey This podcast is so helpful to me I am learning through the provided links on how to study correctly amongst other needed things that concern Medical billing I am taking this one step at a time Thank you Miss Bleu for this channel
Hello everyone, I am 54 and I am self studying. So far things are going smoothly. I am an LPN and still want to be in the medical field. I’m taking it slow and won’t be rushing through it.
I passed my CPC with flying colors at 59, then I worked contract for 6 months. I just started a real FTE coding job this week at age 60. I have to say I am surprising myself as to how much I can learn. I say go for it! My experience with medical coding AI systems is that they miss a lot and pick up a lot that they shouldn't. Part of my contract job was going back through AI charts and picking up everything it missed or checking things it picked up that was wrong.
I love your videos so much, Bleu! That was such a powerful one -- I feel like I got defibrillated by your encouraging words! I have recently begun the Penn Foster online Medical Coding and Billing course, and being an RN, I started getting really comfy with my nurse knowledge thinking I knew it all -- boy was I wrong! I needed your words! When I studied Medical Terminology, I thought I knew it by heart, but the truth is, I had forgotten much of it. It requires a lot of humility and self-scrutiny to go into this (or any, for that matter!) path. Also, I am going on 48 this year and I became an RN at 38. Now, 10 years later, I've decided to shift paths and embark on a new journey -- the sky is the limit! My husband is also very interested in taking this class after he sees how thrilled I am! What you said about the "fear of the unknown" is so accurate -- it's like walking into a dark room not knowing what's in there. But it's just a dark room! We can be our best friends or worst enemies -- it's up to us to choose. Since I found your channel not too long ago, I have been trying to marathon through all your videos going back, and I am learning so much about this profession and gaining self-confidence to keep on my path. All I can say is THANK YOU for being so candid and motivating to all of us newbies! Take care, dear Bleu! -- Luciana

Sorry asked question first
I’m 50 but peri-menopause is robbing me with brain fog and concentration! i’m struggling
Plenty of other women in perimenopause have done it and you can too. Just take it one step at a time.
