I disagree. He has never seemed to be driven by the trappings of the success. He has never bought huge fancy houses, gave away his play button, etc. I don't think he feels as if he has lost anything. He has reached a point where he can do what he wants to do, on his terms, and he seems happy with that. Nobody forced him to retire, or has stopped him from restarting. This is the choice HE has made and continues to make for himself. I think the only reason he mentions it these days is that people call him out asking him why he is no longer pushing the grind because they don't understand that he has different priorities.

I personally feel as if he's not very happy about losing his place either. People can justify it all they want by he's saying he's retired, he's this, that but can't change my mind.
I disagree. He has never seemed to be driven by the trappings of the success. He has never bought huge fancy houses, gave away his play button, etc. I don't think he feels as if he has lost anything. He has reached a point where he can do what he wants to do, on his terms, and he seems happy with that. Nobody forced him to retire, or has stopped him from restarting. This is the choice HE has made and continues to make for himself. I think the only reason he mentions it these days is that people call him out asking him why he is no longer pushing the grind because they don't understand that he has different priorities.
Squarepusher was my bongo man. I first started listening to his stuff almost exclusively while I was studying/commuting, just for the background noise. I decided to properly listen to some of his earlier albums in full one night before going to sleep. My room was pitch black, and it was pretty much dead silent outside. Borderline ethereal experience, completely blew my mind. he’s the only artist from back then that I still consistently listen to and enjoy

Even if it’s “dead” it still provides a wonderful living for him and Marzia and Bjorn, he’s not playing to win TH-cam he’s playing to win life.
The huge TH-camrs of now like him back in the day work so hard to maintain that and grow, and its extremely stressful. This man has done his bit and now is having a wonderful life i would take that over being #1 on TH-cam in a heartbeat.
He made his money. Now, he enjoys his life with his family.
i literally grew up watching pewdiepie, i started watching pewdiepie in 2013, when i was in elementary and im so happy that he's happy and content w his life rn. he deserves to be happy.
From a long time viewer I feel like he retired already, ever since he moved to Japan I stopped watching, I felt there is no drive to achive more since he Accomplished most of his dreams.
