Hi, Markus I'm completely new to the "Rising" games (Dark Side sounds interesting, btw), so I have a lot of questions, but one of the foremost is at 20:50 ; could you have used the sorting hat to power Pomona Sprout's healing ability? Thanks for the new video!
Thanks, Joel and yes, I obviously could have. Keep forgetting the special abilities of my team members (not really an encouraging leader, I guess :-D).
Markus: "Today, we're going to play a game where I do nothing but roll dice." Everyone watching: "Well, I wasn't expecting to watch a horror movie today, but sure." :p I think you just had a really bad initial pull of people. You need a lot of those 1-2 dice allies to start so you have 5 or 6 dice early. Without that, you're pretty well sunk.
Hahaha :) Yeah - pretty horrible experience to watch. And maybe - instead of a Sudoku - I am playing Yahtzee next ;-) And yes - the initial selection of wizards wasn't great either. It's like with Hogwart's Battle - when the initial cards in the markets are bad, you might as well call it and restart ;-)
@@realjplay I was almost thinking there should be an easy version where you get to pick the easiest-to-get ones that give you an additional die to start so you're immediately rolling 5 dice. It wouldn't help you or me since we're horrible dice rollers, but it could help others.
Hello, very good video many thanks. Only after 5 losing games and look some Rule and Lets Play videos later, I found out, that you have to take the missions token back at the end of the turn. BUT… Where does the rules say that??? 🙁 Do I understand right? you remove the Mission token back because the same procedure will use at thanos Rising? 🤔
Thanks so much and indeed this is not done very well in the rules. I happened to know this from the Marvel game (Thanos Rising), where it is clearly mentioned in the rules... :-(
@@realjplay many thanks for answer, I have checked it up with the Star Wars Rising rules and there I can‘t find the action „take deployment token back“, too. 🤨 But yes you are right in the Thanos Rising rules I found it!
I had the very same question when I played the game for the first time but luckily remembered "Thanos Rising" and I believe on BGG this then has been confirmed. Really bad rulebook for quite a simple game like this...
@@realjplay The worst thing is that it isn't even consistent. Ginny Weasley is (tm) but Fred and George Weasley are not ... where is the logic ??? OK ... I'm calming down, I'm calming down :D
Haha - I thought exactly the same and the only reason I could come up with is that they weren't able to trademark some names because of pre-existence or so...!?
Markus: "This game is a little too long for what it is" Voldemort: "I can fix that. No death eaters required."
Ian Richard Hahahaha :) When they all come out the same time later, game could be over too pretty soon ;)
@@realjplay Yeah, the dice are not your friends on this playthrough. Good luck.
They never are, Ian ;-)
@@realjplay I know that feeling all too well.

Exactly - wouldn't change a thing for me but still a good idea for others :-D

Maybe a little late, but this rule is on the back of the team card. There is a quick turn overview.
I had Thanos Rising at one point, but we got rid of it. The game was not engaging enough and the luck factor really turned us off.
Wait - what luck factor?! Just kidding... I totally hear you, Stasia :)
I didn't know this game but ... No, i could not play it ... those TM everywhere on the cards ... that's so stupid it hurts.
Oh I hear you, I really do...

I will allow your Harry Potter game because you have a kid.
Nah - you got that all wrong. I AM the kid in the family ;-)
