At 70+ and a collector of Crayolas I’ve learned that keeping them in a box means I don’t share. But it also means I can’t share the happiness with others. Yes, I would Love to see the difference between the Neocolor I & a regular crayon! I also am an adult who Loves crayons - Love smelling them in the box! I would like to know if the Crayola Adult Artist Colored Pencils are worth the money. I've been tempted to buy them to see if they are worth the investment, but, I don't really know if they're worth the money.
I still love crayons. I'll probably love them for the rest of my life. They bring back childhood memories for me. I really enjoyed watching you using all of those crayons. I'm going to have to try the confetti Crayola crayons. I can't wait to see how they look in person. I still want to get some of the skin tone Crayolas. Thanks for comparing them for us. FYI the crayola crayons do last 50 years when you color a picture. My family found a coloring book my grandma had colored in as a child and the pictures she colored were still beautiful 50 years later.
The pearl crayons are one of my favorites because the laydown is so smooth and the coverage is much better than the other crayons. I look at some of the patents for crayons and this is a big consideration when making them. What is the laydown like? Does it lay down nice, is there a lot of flakiness etc. All considerations when making the crayon. The pearl crayon performs better in these cases. You can buff these crayons too to make sure they get more shiny. The silver swirls are my absolute favorite, the version that came before these, but they won't be made anymore. Also the original box of pearl brite crayons from 1997 and 1998 did contain pearl in the name of the crayon.
Young Crayola collector here, those lil houses give me Deja Vu from my childhood xD I also have some discontinued art supplies from my mom's coloring days, since she loved to color drawings to make cards for people and stuff. Btw, the crayon effect can show up really good under lighting with some baby oil.
The smell you love is the beef fat tallow in the Crayola. And yes I love the pearls as well. The tallow makes the crayons water proof. Love Terri Simmers.
I showed this to my husband and he stole my phone. I didn't care for the crayons I bought one pack couldnt remember which one, but I'm not used to the wax feel. And the huge tip too. I been collecting colored pencils, gel pens and alcohol markers for a while now. And love my collection as it grows I love the houses and will hopefully be able to download some to print and I'm a member too. I love you that your husband is so involved. A better comparison would've been a swatch test between Crayola wax crayons and the Neocolor I (water-resistant) instead of the Neocolor II (water-soluble). So yeah, definitely need a showdown! I have the 20 Neocolor II, they came in a lovely wooden set called the "Caran D'ache Discovery Box". The discovery box is exactly what it sounds like. It includes 2 pans of watercolor. It also has the 20 Supracolor colored pencils, which are essentially the same formula as the Pablo, except they're also water-soluble too. I got the set on sale during Black Friday via Jerry's Artarama and so glad I did, bc I was blown away by the quality of the set.
FYI just yesterday I was in my local Dollar Tree store and found the cutest little packs of these specialty crayons of course by the time I saw him there were only Neons and pastels there but I got a pack of each I didn't count the crayons and I'm probably six or eight but they're only a dollar a pack it's a great way to try them out and they would look cute added to your collection happy coloring!😀
I actually have the pearls, I was at Michael's and grabbed them as an impulse buy. I think I have all except the confetti and neon. I have the huge box with the character sharpener, the set with the plastic case with the sharpener box that has the metallics and glitter crayons included, the skin tones, metallics, glitter. I agree that the glitter are nasty to use. I just ordered a swatch book from Amazon to swatch my Crayolas.
Yesterday I found the colors of the world colored pencils at my local Michaels and some spectrum noir classique markers in earth tones at my local Tuesday morning.....they had alot of spectrum noir markers as well as kingsart stuff

Back in 2017 Crayola has pronounce that they will be removing one of their Crayola crayons from the classic 24 count box and replace it with a new colour in the blue family witch who got the boot we'll people go for white, yellow green, brown, red, yellow, blue green, and ECT but Crayola has decided to remove everyone's favourite Crayola crayon for so many years... Dandelion it was a sad day for dandelion leaving from the 24 count box 😞 and sooner or later dandelion was gone and been replaced with golden road before bluetiful can be in the box 11:28

The pearls are my favorite they are creamier than the others and have a sheen that shines more when you rub them in. I got a few backups.

The Pearl Crayons are my favorite of the recent sets of Crayola Crayons. They are so buttery smooth and come out shiny.

I have neocolor 1 and they are amazong, amazing...but came broken in the amazon tin. So I had to buy replacements. They are very delicate.

I use the confetti crayons in Crayola's Comics Cats and other galactic things coloring book. I agree with you they are fun to use.

maybe you should try using a special paper on some of the crayon sets especially the glitter ones which are the worst set amongst all other sets
