I'm studying for my MCAT right now, and I just wanted to thank you for your clear, accurate explanations. The way you navigated the concept just stuck on my brain, despite me feeling like I'm on my last straw. I'll be referring to your channel more :)
Because Cis structures are on the same side, so there is a ton of steric strain (steric strain- when large groups (relatively large groups) are next to each other repelling each other).
I am so grateful for your videos, and I have gotten my classmates to use them as well. You are a life saver! Thank you!
You're welcome and Thanks for the kind words and referrals!

Hello, for the last problem with the Zaitsev rule, why isn't the cis product a major, even if the double bond is also surrounded by 2 carbons?
trans is more stable since the me groups are further away from each other I believe.
Trans more stable cause their dipol moment are negate each other

So if I have life 2,3-difluorohexane with the same where would the double bond go and what’s gone?
At what time in the video is this?

Zaitsev did not emigrate. He was born in and died in Russia. He studied in western Europe for a few years.
