This all is honestly super interesting. As someone who went to school for game design it's always interesting seeing people thought processes when they find glitches like this and experiment what they can do with them. One thing that is super annoying though and I see it for specifically these games is people saying that they're absolute dog shit because you can do all this stuff as if there aren't several games that are regarded as really good that aren't also stupidly broken. If the glitches were incredibly easy to pull off and would impede normal gameplay I'd be inclined to agree but it seems like you have to go stupidly out of the way for all of this
nah, a glicth that basicly can make you skip the whole game its dogshit and should have been patched the second it appeared
@@cesar6447 honestly it's not really that bad. Are you going to say that Super Mario 64 is a dog shit game because you can backwards long jump and skip a good majority of the game? As I said if a glitch or a bug like this is really out of the way and requires you to be intentionally doing it there's not too much of a reason to patch it. Because honestly, who cares if you want to skip the entire game like this. The only point to do it really is speedrunning and almost anybody would ignore this if they're wanting to play the game the intended way
@@IosLocarth + bljs are what make super mario 64 so varied between all the different categories, the idea you can complete a game quick slow or completely breathes a lot of life into speed running as it gives something for everyone
@@cesar6447 Patching a game takes a lot of resources-dev time, QA time, opportunity cost of not being able to work on something else, time spent getting it approved by higher-ups, etc.-so an issue is only really worth fixing if players are running into it on accident or it's giving players an unfair edge in multiplayer. Beyond that, it can probably wait until something else crops up that actually needs to be patched, at which point it can be bundled in. It's probably not particularly hard to fix, but is it worthwhile to fix? Not really.

Very interesting recap! The speedrunning community amezed me every time. I wanted to ask if you plan to release a video tutorial where you go trhough an entire run and explain literally everything there is to do (eg which button to press in which order to perform glitches etc). That would be SUPER appreciated

The fact that the worst main line pokemon game is speedran by saying "I refuse to play 99% of the game" is so poetic lol.
This was so interesting to watch! I've been amazed over the past weeks to see the developments of the speedrun here and there, but having it all together, explained in this way, makes me even more impressed. Great video, thank you for making this!
I guess this is what happens when Game Freak isn't behind the wheel of a Pokemon game...
I'm pretty sure most of the more recent remakes(including Omega Ruby. Alpha Saphire and after) haven't had any Game Freak involvement
@@dayandere2669That's not true. GameFreak made Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The only one they didn't make so far was Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
You could literally boot up the game and it will say the developer, or just look it up online.
@@dayandere2669 Uh... What? This is the only time a different studio did a a mainline game... MonoSoft did some of the spinoffs, but like, GF did ORAS.

At least we got Legends Arceus to wash away the dogshit before Scarlet and Violet, which is honestly a really good entry if you disregard all of the glitches and the Banjo Kazooie graphics.
Although it couldn't have killed them to dynamically scale the levels of activities based on how many activities you completed to make it truly open ended instead of it just being a secret path. There's a thing in programming that allows you to do exactly that, and it's called a Switch Statement. Firstly, you feed in a variable, which in this case would be the number of total Gym/Starfall/PoL badges earned, and then it would pick a set of variables based on it, in this case, sets of team comps, levels, and other shit to essentially scale the difficulty dynamically.
Like, bruh, if you market your shit as open world and open ended, you better expect players to do all of the necessary shit the way they want.
@@MDLuffy1234YT You can catch a high level Pokémon (hard but doable with the catch rate being lower without badges), picnic with them until they reach the friendship treshold where they obey even without enough badges, and then steamroll 80% of the game with them. I guess it's better than having everything progress at a snail's pace...
This is a glitch that you have to go out of your way to activate.Say what you want about BDSP, but using intentional stress-testing of code for your arguements is absolutely asinine.

Using the gts lady's glitch and menue storage and key items I've made it as far as the void but am struggling to find the right rout to get straight to the pokemon league and under the waterfall. Do you know if there's a guid anywhere to help with the exact rout

I just LOVE these games. The glitches they have are so fun and easy to pull off, it’s incredible.
They also feel me with nostalgia because Pokémon Pearl was my first Pokémon game ever.
No matter what people say, for me BDSP are the best Pokémon games to release in the last 10 years.

It's so funny. The first generations had two major problems in terms of glitches: they had not much space. If you have to fit something like Pokémon onto a gameboy color cardrigde, then you have to make it work _somehow_ . And of course gamefreak had not much experience. If i recall correctly, Pokémon was their first video game project and would be for some time.
Then with gen 5 and ongoing, they had almost unlimited space on the cardridges (yes, during gen 4 the DS cardridges had way less capacity). And then they started learning how to reduce glitches and everything. There was a solid foundation they could build upon. I mean, SwSh still looks kinda unfinished to me, but at least it _works_ . Honestly I don't know what went wrong with scarlet/violet except that it was incredibly rushed together with legends arceus.
Honestly i would love to know how the programmers of BDSP feel about this speedrun. Like, they created a speedrun where you don't play the game at all. Which hasn't happened for years with big releases if I'm not mistaken

@@Shin3y search it up. It's a Geometry Dash level that uses said song. There are more levels that use Camellia songs like Karma (by ARtu), Quaoar (by Flosia), Quaoar (by ViPriN), Reverie, Faith, Diligence, Ocular Miracle, Light It Up, Crystal, Recrystalize, etc.
what happens to your save file after this, like what becomes unaccessible can you go through the story and get the key items and HM's or are you screwed im really interested as to what the repercussions are to doing this
Apparently you can just play through the game again after beating it, in that it all still works. Source is Pulse in a reply in this video. He says, "You can! The flags are all still there like normal."

Question about speed running: Are there glitches that require online connectivity? And if Nintendo (or which ever company) stops running the online servers how would the community react?
The Glitches do not require online! In fact, online usually takes glitches away due to patches Nintendo tries to force.

You can! The flags are all still there like normal.

@@Blckviper Can you not use emulators? Ryujinx is really good for switch games. Can even use Pokemon LAN trades. I am not a paid advert I just like the software.
