In Nepal, you can see not only the great Himalayan snow-capped mountains, but also unexpectedly green tea fields. Ilam, a small city in eastern Nepal where the sun rises first, is known as the 'City of Tea'. Ilam, which produces 81% of Nepal's tea production, was the first city in Nepal to start cultivating tea about 160 years ago. In the tea fields where the first harvest of tea is in full swing, I feel the warmth of Nepal when I am invited by four sisters, and I also help a young farmer harrow the rice in the terraced fields before planting rice. My eyes are drawn to the farming tools that are hard to find in Korea, such as harrows and rubber rakes, and the forgotten rural landscape. Nepal is made up of 126 ethnic minorities. Ilam's Parangbung is a village of the Limbu tribe. Here, I decide to attend a traditional Limbu wedding that starts at midnight. While the priest leads Limbu rituals such as 'kick the sword' and 'kissing the feet', I also discover MZ generation wedding trends such as photo zones and wedding banners throughout the wedding hall. The Lim tribe enjoys drinking and dancing. Drinking and dancing are a must at weddings.
