That doesn't matter. If drivers want to use the road, they should follow traffic laws and drive safely. While cyclists are also allowed to use the road, we also must follow all applicable traffic laws (which includes pulling over for responding emergency vehicles and overtaking only where permitted). The cyclist in this video makes the rest of us look bad.

It's sad and ridiculous but it's true, this is what you have to do to get people to notice you and to pull over ( slightly :-/ ) when responding. I used to work on an ambulance and I couldn't count how many times I've seen people not hear me because their stereo was too loud or notice me and just aren't impressed enough to get out of the way. Yes it is a ticketable offense but just try to make that happen.
The problem with getting a ticket to actually happen is it requires an officer to pull them over and write a ticket, when if you're going code 3 there's more pressing matters at hand

Well, this Cyclist broke some rules. First rule is that bikes and vehicles are not allowed to cross the yellow lines. Second rule is that bikes are supposed to stay on the far right side of flowing traffic.

The Stanier seems to be based off a Ford Crown victoria and the Merit off a Chevy Impala. Yes, they are still on service
I'm from Verona (Italy) and the police here use the classic european siren ( hi-lo siren)...but they sucks and I'm a little bit sad because the american rumbler sirens are much better than european style...I hope that one day the sirens that you have in america will be used also here in Italy for the police vehicles.

If it's lights & sirens, it's code 3. However, if they only use the siren going through an intersection and to clear traffic temporarily, it's C2.
