Thanks dude this helped me so much. My scooter was going only 50 kmph and I could feel how the restriction killed the power and speed and when I pluged out the pink wire it went from 50 kmph to 65 kmph which is a big difference and now I can enjoy all the power and speed of my motorbike.
Will this work on my 2014 50cc? Peace Sports? And also I'm trying to figure out. How to order parts in what to get for it. I've seen almost so many different things because it's only so much you can do to these small engines unless I buy a bore kit and upgrade to a 150cc or something like that. But can anybody help me here? Cuz I adjusted the needle fraud and it did make more air goes to the engine which is allowing a little more acceleration, but not top speed.? Anybody give me a hand on this CDI tip?

Let's also not forget that your overall speed varies by the weight of the scooter, your own weight, weather and road conditions. If I were 100lbs lighter I'd definitely be going a lot faster! Also, speedometers on Chinese scooters are inaccurate anyway.

What else can I do to derestrict the bike, and be able to get more speed out of it ? My top speed right now on a really good day, is about 42 MPH, flat out full throttle. I would really like to get 50 to 55 MPH out of it on the flat at full throttle.
mine strangely has RPM sensor attached to the rear variator's plate... and the wire is just attached with easy pull off connector sadly i cant go test it since the dam back variator broke so the thing moves nowhere atm

What you mean how much? How fast it drives? I haven't tried it full throttle or in long distance, but 60 kmh in about 200-300 metres (way more less i think)
Mine goes over 65km/h stock. I'm going to do a exhaust, k&n style intake, and a jet to match. 2 stroke. Oiling system didn't work right so I just disconnected the oil pump and pre mix

Can I just say for Lexmoto scouts and probably pulse scouts, it’s completely different. The pink wire is the clutch pick up. Also the location of the ecu is completely different. Does anyone know which one actually is the restriction on these bikes??

I can feel the power is cut at that speed so that it doesn't go any faster. will this method work with my stock cdi and allow the bike to do what the engine is capable of rather than being restricted to 30mph? I was looking into getting a new cdi as that is what most videos did on TH-cam, but if this doesn't work, will I still be able to ride the bike with the cable back in? basically I'm asking will this method de restrict any bike? thanks

If you remove the rev limiter and take the bike on a top speed run it could lean out with the stock carb jet, causing the motor to burn up. Be cautious and have fun.
I'm sure you figured it out by now, but as long as you didn't cut the wire that restricts it and just plug it back in it should restrict it again. But why would you want to restrict it again? Lol.

Apparently the rev limiter is being built into the CDI. With newer TaoTao 50s you have to replace the CDI, but it will end up overworking your engine and shortening the lifespan of your scooter somewhat

My Bentilli 49cc doesn't have a pink wire. I think I'll try one of those "High Performance" CDI units.

no it works it Supposed to do that most vehicles oil light comes on before you start them, then they go off .

Wrong the pink wite on the scoute does go to the clutch housing on a pick up that counts the rmo and limits it ... cut the wire

What year is your ped, because mine is 2015 and I can't find the wire either
2015 one is under the helmet box, by the lock for unlocking it. you will need a 10mm socket and a phillips screwdriver to remove the helmet box
I pulled that pink wire. All it did was disable the "Off" position on my key. No increase in speed.
I have tried today on mine didnt work, also there is no pink cable on cdi.

I would suggest pulling the wire to see what it does then if you want you could cut it and make it permanent or not.

I don't have purple wire :/ I got green in the bottom left socket. But when I disconnect that, the bike doesn't start up.
Of course it won’t start. That’s the pick up wire. It tells the CDI when to fire the coil.
