  • Hi! Today I will show you how to make micro chess. It's a little souvenir for friends. To make these chess pieces you will need a brass rod and valuable wood species. For production I use a small lathe. ) Soon new video!

      The video was well produced too. At 8:10 when he was showcasing the Knight, he finessed the piece so well in his hands. I didn't realized until I slowed it down that it was a recording played backwards of him tossing it. (+1 for classy edit skills too)

      tweezers already exist.. what he forgot is a teeny tiny magnet in the back of that drawer so it clicks shut, and does not accidentaly open. anyway, that was a fantastic A+ project!!!

      add a steel base to each peice

      and then use ceramic, plastic or resin tipped tweezers so they don't get stuck to the magnetic board or the chess pieces themselves

    with this chess board being as small as it is i think i would have left pegs on the bottom of the pieces and put tiny holes in the board for them to go into

    when making tight fitting drawers like that, sometimes its good to include a relief so that if dust or particles build up behind the drawer it can still slide back fully. otherwise it will get gummed up.

    this is so cool and beautiful a nice display set BUT if only you could make the board magnetic then the pieces would not fall off when one holds and admire it at any angle would be perfect. heck i might even try to tempt you to sell it.

      Jasper Brown I think I recognize the music and I am inclined to say it is from a band named Carbon Based Lifeforms, though I couldn’t name what song it is and the channel owner says he makes the music so it is a possibility that the styles are very similar. Regardless, if you are looking for a similar style of music, Carbon Based Lifeforms is a source.

      This is an English version of Russian channel, that's why there's no speech. In one of his videos on Russian channel he said that he composed that music by himself. So I'm not sure it is possible to find it anywhere except those videos.

    Honestly, this is the kind of chess board you'd use with some sort of automated piece moving device. Like an electromagnet setup so that it can drag pieces around.

      You have to remove from your brain thay DIY doesn't necessarily mean a tutorial for all to make. It simply means they did it theirself. Also if you have watched the video notice how he didn't even say a word , with this you can already tell it's not a tutorial. But just a person building this mini chess for fun and/or gain from youtube ads.

      A small CNC and lathe isn't unaffordable. If you're a maker, you can do it.
