Nice video and thank you for sharing Guy's story. Glad you are back to posting videos and showing the world you are doing well after the earthquake in Mexico.
I was very lucky to have a chance to encounter and enjoy those wonderful giant scallops in Glasgow. They are one of the best gifts given by nature. And thanks to those people who collect and deliver them to us. ❤
So cool Mike. It's fascinating to see how these scallops are picked by hand. Wonderful to see them alive in their own environment. And like Guy says. Keep thinking of how the sea keeps humans alive since the beginning of time. So respect the sea for what it is. On another note, really good to see you've picked up the pieces of your life and kept doing what you love to do best. God Bless Mike.
Yes, what Guy is doing is so great. Some parts didn't quite make it in the edit, but he had a good talk about the adventure behind every scallop. People like stories, and catching them this was definitely has a great one. Also he says "Pick the roses, without trampling the garden" is great wisdom. Other fishing methods just scrape the hell out of the bottom of the ocean. Imagine doing that on land? It would be banned immediately. In the ocean, we just don't see it, but it still happens everyday.
You'rrrrrrrrrre BACK! Love, love your vlogs! Glad you and your girlfriend, and her family were all safe. Tragic, the whole world is tragic. But I can watch your vids, and see the BEAUTY in the world. Thank you.
Thanks 1000 for this comment. I little too much life crammed into this summer. I think I'm going to make a video about it in the next few days. It's been an insane year. Now, back in CDMX with a ton of great content to edit!
Love the driving and hitting the window. I would have done the same thing. Those scallops looked amazing. My absolute favorite seafood.💞 Love ur videos. Safe travels! 💙💗💙💗
Dear Mike and Guy, I was very moved by this video. The raw beauty of the north Atlantic never fails to amaze me after moving from the west coast to the east coast of Canada. Scotland's sea has even more raw beauty, it seems. And nothing beats the scallops here, I thought, until I watched this video. Being from the west coast, I never knew Atlantic scallops were so big, beautiful and delightful to eat. Succulent barely describes the experience. However, I now have a growing suspicion that the scallops in Scotland may be x2 the experience! You have a new subscriber in me. Cheers with a shot of whiskey from Nova Scotia aka New Scotland. xo
Awesome video, Mike! I love the documentary-like style to it. You did so much better hunting for the scallops than I would have, so there's another positive for you! Guy is absolutely fascinating, as is his profession, and I think what he said at the end is so important. He seems like a really great guy. I truly believe you have some of the best content on all of TH-cam right here on your channel. You are SO fantastic at what you do, and you have a magnetic personality that makes watching you a lot of fun. I can't wait to see more of your adventures!
Ah man. Thanks so much Brandon. Guy and I were like Scallop Soul Mates. He lived in the woods for a year on his 30th birthday, he's eaten strange things all over the world, spent a full year at sea.... We were best buds so fast. It was a pity with this job that everything happens so fast! We only had a day and half together. Really appreciate your comment about my content man. I love what I do, and I want other people to love what they do in life. Excited to start posting 2 videos a week :)
Wow! That's incredible. You're an amazing human being, man. I'm really looking forward to more videos from you. I can't help but be inspired every single time I watch a new one.
I'm remembering my drive through Ireland and having such a similar experience. The roads were much narrower there than this though. The people in both countries were absolutely so friendly though. Never worried about the sheep or dogs in the road, they got out of the way quickly. The locals, on the other hand, take their time with catching up. Time moves at its own pace here.
Great video and well put together.i particarly liked the point that guy made about sustainability and how scallop dredgers destroy the very habitat the scallops need to live and reproduce.how foolishly short sighted.all scallops should be cought the way you are both seen doing it here.i do it free diving and would love to dive them waters.look forward to the next film
I recently drove 1,000 miles in the UK for the first time (from the NYC area). Started in Northern Scotland and then worked my way to London. I had the same issues, though I decided to rent an automatic because I thought it might be too much going on being on the left side of the road and with narrow roads, lots, garages, etc.
Hahaha man, I had to cut out some of the footage. I kept the funny stuff, but there were times I was actually terrified. It's tough driving on those tiny roads!
That was very interesting to see id love to have to opportunity to try it once. On another note Mike I hope you are okay and all your friends and family in Mexico City ❤️ stay strong kick the grind my friend.
Hey Mike, do you think you will be coming to Cornwall UK as we are the warmer cousin of Scotland ???? Great video, an awesome way to see how the sea/ocean is a big part of who we are. xx
Hi, if you like surfing and or music then the Boardmasters Festival in Newquay 2018 is a great one to go to - www.boardmasters.co.uk/ this year and every year at around this time 12-15th Oct there is the Falmouth Oyster Festival - www.falmouth.co.uk/falmouth-events/falmouth-oyster-festival/ which if you like oysters is great both are in Cornwall UK. xx
Scotland wind, cold, rarely sun, rarely blue sky, heavy grey clouds, fantastic people, beautiful nature and good food.
This was one of my favorite adventures. Thank you for the comment!
Nice video and thank you for sharing Guy's story. Glad you are back to posting videos and showing the world you are doing well after the earthquake in Mexico.
Thank you James. It was a helluva few weeks man. Now back in CDMX with nothing but editing on my plate. Excited to start smashing out the videos

Great video Mike. I absolutely love the respect Guy has for the ocean. ❤
He's such a great person. I definitely could have used more time there.
This was amazing, the ocean is so beautiful. Like Guy said when you do fishing correctly it will sustain you for a life time.
Yes Exactly! We all need to think more about this.

I can tell you put some extra time into this piece, great work buddy.
Almost a 20m edit, and I had to leave another 15 minutes on the floor. Big project, and happy with the result!

We're all ok :) Mariannela helped a lot, I unfortunately had to travel a few days after. The city is coming back together.
While they're at it, you should grind the shells up for fertilizer
Amazing footage, the drone footage is amazing.
We vlogged in Amsterdam, would be cool if you could give it a look 😁
Beeping horns is a no no unless it is a emergency in Scotland .
Am I the only one shook by the fact that the scallop was flopping away ?
Whisky with ice!!! Scottish and cringing at that lol
Hey Mike, do you think you will be coming to Cornwall UK as we are the warmer cousin of Scotland ???? Great video, an awesome way to see how the sea/ocean is a big part of who we are. xx
