i agree i am tired of them making all these rules about how u can and cant hit someone i mean how are u supposed to tackle a guy right u know if theres so many rules in play?
This is bullshit. I'm all for player safety but how do you expect someone of his size to just stop on a dime after positioning himself to make a tackle like that?
You can't say that Barr's hit was any cleaner than Jack's hit....and Barr got called for the personal foul. Larry Scott not only needs to get rid of the officials for football, but for basketball too, for the sake of the whole conference...
Both hits are super clean. They didnt lead with the helmet and was not helmet to helmet. Also upon release, the players didnt even take a full step before the hit happened. Clean hit, no call should have been made.
It's too bad Jack is going to go before the Vikings pick. Can you imagine a full reunification of the UCLA LB corps on Mike Zimmer's defense? That just wouldn't be fair...
It would take a Bridgewater-like drop of his current draft status for him to fall to us, I would imagine. It's difficult to question anything about him; his tape is outstanding, he is very athletic, good size, not sure what could cause a fall to 23, but then again, I never thought Kendricks would make it to the 2nd, let alone fall to us. Chad will likely be a backup, unless they don't draft anyone to replace him. I think their plan is to move Kendricks to the outside, so they might target a player like Ragland for the future Mike in the 4-3 as well.
I completely support the effort to keep players safer. The only issue is that the game is so fast that whenever there is a big hit, like this one, the officials just presume that the hit must have been illegal. These calls should allowed to be reviewed by replay.
This sport is becoming more and more of a contradiction. Colleges and NFL teams look for the strongest and fastest guys available but institute rules that limit the physical ability that was so desperately sought after.
Qb has to recognize that guy is the blitzer and must throw quick, roll right, or shift the line protection. But, Barr also could have dropped into coverage, just like anyone in front of a lineman
In the 2014 NFL draft the Minnesota Vikings select - Anthany Barr LB UCLA In the 2015 NFL draft the Minnesota Vikings select - Eric Kendricks LB UCLA In the 2016 NFL draft the Minnesota Vikings select - Myles Jack LB UCLA How Awesome would this be? LOL Meatloaf was right - "Two out of three ain't bad" - I'd sure like to get the third to complete the set.
If the NCAA wants to really protect the QB the rules should be changed so that as soon as the QB is touched the play is over. That will make it easier for rushing defensemen to stay within the rules. I don't really like the idea but the current rules seem to be unfair to the defense.
So we're bragging about getting big hits where nobody got tackled and there was no turnover? This was 2 unblocked guys. How hard is that? If you let 50% of high school players run full speed for 7 yards, it wouldn't look much different.
I guess NMSU should have watched Myles' senior highlights. He did the same thing against Trinity, Liberty, Sammamish, Peninsula. I think he also did it against Bothell. You need a back or TE to pick Myles up or your QB is at risk. By the way, I would not have flagged either Bruin.
***** He's the most raw player in the top 10 conversation. Will probably be great by year 4, but wont even compare to Clowney right away. Look up Kyle Van Noy. Our dirty birds should rise up and take him in the 2nd round if he's still there.
This is a call I'm tired of seeing both in college and pro. How is this roughing the passer? If a defender is in stride running towards the qb its not there fault that the qb threw the ball away right before they tackled him. What is a defensive player supposed to do in that situation? This was a clean hit no helmet on helmet and he used his shoulder. Football is getting soft nowadays if this were back in day it was just be a hard hit. Football is a rough sport hits like this are part of the game stop with the liberal bullshit calls. I'm tired of seeing a flag every minute during a game.
That's not roughing the passer, that was a good clean hit. Stop the pussification of football
Anthony Barr, Myles jack, Eric Hendricks. God damn that’s a scary ass linebacker core 💀
too 2/3 never lived up to their potential. Kendricks is the only one who has
That was the cleanest hit ever. Fucking stupid rule
How in the hell is he supposed to stop one foot away from the guy. Fuck they are turning football into a sissy sport.
i agree i am tired of them making all these rules about how u can and cant hit someone i mean how are u supposed to tackle a guy right u know if theres so many rules in play?
If these type of hits are penalties, then pump fakes should be illegal too
Big, fast, athletic OLB goes full speed into the QB UNCONTESTED TWICE. Why is that so great. Just like a varsity player doing the same in a JV game.
Insane that Jack, Barr, and Kendricks were on this team together
This is bullshit. I'm all for player safety but how do you expect someone of his size to just stop on a dime after positioning himself to make a tackle like that?
Anthony Barr and I entered UCLA at the same time...we graduated together two...the only difference...I didn’t Murder any quarterbacks!
That the left tackle would dual block the defensive end while Barr is standing right in front of him is unbelievable.
It's too bad Jack is going to go before the Vikings pick. Can you imagine a full reunification of the UCLA LB corps on Mike Zimmer's defense? That just wouldn't be fair...
+Nicholas Rogers you never know. It'll be interesting to see what they do with Chad Greenway. That will play a big role
It would take a Bridgewater-like drop of his current draft status for him to fall to us, I would imagine. It's difficult to question anything about him; his tape is outstanding, he is very athletic, good size, not sure what could cause a fall to 23, but then again, I never thought Kendricks would make it to the 2nd, let alone fall to us. hahaha
+Kanye East poor miles :( wonder what happened??
It's the knee. But i see him being drafted in the second.
I completely support the effort to keep players safer. The only issue is that the game is so fast that whenever there is a big hit, like this one, the officials just presume that the hit must have been illegal. These calls should allowed to be reviewed by replay.
okay that explains it because i didnt catch the whole first half and i just found out about that NMSU player this morning
This sport is becoming more and more of a contradiction. Colleges and NFL teams look for the strongest and fastest guys available but institute rules that limit the physical ability that was so desperately sought after.
I picture Aaron Rodgers as I watch that QB wallow in pain
Really? Even though Rodgers is good i do not mind him. I think of cutler personally
me too. can't wait for Sunday
LMFAO
well oddly enough u got your wish😂
Scott Nichols Your wish came true as Anthony Barr broke Aaron Rodgers’ collarbone today
Leading with the head? dafuq are you suppose to do?
YO WTF?? the real question is why DAFUQ did the tackle not pick Barr up?? Barr was definitely on the front side of the play...
Qb has to recognize that guy is the blitzer and must throw quick, roll right, or shift the line protection.
But, Barr also could have dropped into coverage, just like anyone in front of a lineman
Clean hit by Barr. Glad he wasn't red carded for the next game.
I hope Aaron Rodgers is ready :P you to Jay! They better invest in a flak jacket.
OHHH MAN WERE THOSE GOOD HITS!!! HAHA! I HOPE WE CAN CONTINUE HITS LIKE THAT!!! JACK AND BARR ARE PERFECT! GOOOO BRUINS!!!
In the 2014 NFL draft the Minnesota Vikings select - Anthany Barr LB UCLA

too bad Barr peaked in 2017
Back when we were a good college football team
Would be nice if the offensive line would protect the guy a little bit so the refs didn't have to.
If the NCAA wants to really protect the QB the rules should be changed so that as soon as the QB is touched the play is over. That will make it easier for rushing defensemen to stay within the rules. I don't really like the idea but the current rules seem to be unfair to the defense.
that other commentator sounds so anti-UCLA smh jumping the gun there man
according to alot of the mock drafts he will get picked up by the giants which is a good thing
LMFAO i like the giants, but hes not getting passed the 7th pick
its cool we need offensive players first though so know i realize we should get greg robinson or taylor lewan
SKOL Vikings, he looks like a hell of a guy, can't wait to see him on the field wearing purple!
Cory Hoffman i was wrong. he was 9th overall. the thing is can he replace Jared allen? and idk if your a Minn U fan, but Hageman looks nice
mudkipman1 Nope. Everson Griffen, another freak athlete, has that task.
The Jim Mora Era at UCLA in 1 min and 52 secs.
So we're bragging about getting big hits where nobody got tackled and there was no turnover? This was 2 unblocked guys. How hard is that? If you let 50% of high school players run full speed for 7 yards, it wouldn't look much different.
I agree that was a clean, solid hit, but to be fair it did look like helmet to helmet the first time I saw it.
cant wait to see this guy run down Rodgers, Stafford, Cutler!!!!!
I guess NMSU should have watched Myles' senior highlights. He did the same thing against Trinity, Liberty, Sammamish, Peninsula. I think he also did it against Bothell. You need a back or TE to pick Myles up or your QB is at risk.

total BS all around, hate these rules
if you pause at 1:00 the hit looks clean
Love anthony barr man, great addition to the vikings defense
big time addition
lol this is what I like about college football. You never see QB's get hit like that in NFL they're too good and O lines are too good.
he would be great for the lions if they just let him play refs are such idiots these days
These guys laying the wood 😂
Here's a solution, find and use slower, smaller, fatter, weaker players and you won't have to worry about a mass of injuries.
Not a late hit
hopefully will be a dirty bird
I hope so...
Just 3 more games of this season to go... 3 more.
FALCONS please
***** He's the most raw player in the top 10 conversation. Will probably be great by year 4, but wont even compare to Clowney right away. Look up Kyle Van Noy. Our dirty birds should rise up and take him in the 2nd round if he's still there.
falcons are probaly gonna get clowney
i dont think clowney will get all the way down to the 6th pick
u mean giants
Refs have something against this kid? lol. First the Colorado game, now this. Dude is gonna be a good NFL player
I know Miles Jack :)
Myles...
Myles typo
+TylerClawProductions Tell him to fail his combine so he falls to us.. (little late comment sowy, but still. Skol!)
clean
HELL YEAH SKOL VIKES
yep
NMSU is runnin' outta' QB's!!
LOL!!!!
lol myles jack

it's really due to injuries like what happened in this video. watch what happened to the qb's head.
Lol
skol
Lol soft.
Anthony Barr is a freak of nature. Same with Jack. The sound of those hits though... damn that had to hurt.
