Actually Nephi, gaya ng madalas mong sabihin, PINIRMAHAN na ni Julie Anne ang role na Maria Clara! Honestly, I never thought that she will be damm excellent for this role!! Ang galing nya ng "silent" acting ala Nora Aunor na mata lang ang pinaaarte! As for her singing, I guess we just have to thank her voice coach, Ms. Jai Sabas Aracama, who is a classical icon in the Philippines. Ms. Aracama was the one who trained Julie vocally for her concert Julie Sings the Divas. Remember her rendition of the song ADAGIO from her concert! I did expect her to sing this way when I heard a snippet of this performance in one of the teasers. Somebody also said that this is not the last performance of Julie Anne in this teleserye. I read in one of the comments that she will sing again and also play the harp! Limitless talaga!! I am really waiting for it!!! Thanks Nephi!!

This teleserye was a great move by GMA7 to remind the world of Dr. Jose Rizal and his thoughts. --- I beg everyone to look into a related issue, facing dangerous problems already covered by his work. 25 yrs ago, GMA7 had produced a big and very intense movie about the great polymath, his life and death, and many little details. I believe this can be translated to the international situation of today. But it is almost impossible to mention it. The issue seems blacklisting.
I cannot mention this movie anywhere in social media. If this is systematic, then everyone should know about this, and spread it additionally to this new, Rizal related work.
One point here is that we have restrictions in emotionalizing, which is a colonial privileg of the preachers of the regime. An emotional movie against mainstream today can be disappeared almost a 100 percent.

I hate to be a killjoy but I can't not say this. If this were considered as a Ave Maria (Bach-Gounod) cover, then this could pass as a nice one because Julie has a great voice but if you experience learning the song like I did way back when I was 16 years-old then there are loads of errors in this version. The piano is not in sync, her breath marks are all over the place. Check the score. I just wish they pay more attention to such masterpieces before they use them in shows. There is a score, please follow it.
