- Destiny 2 Lightfall - Solo Master Root of Nightmares Raid Challenge Mode - Illuminated Torment (Cataclysm Encounter / Survive on the Onslaught Challenge #1) / Solo Root of Nightmares Raid - Encounter #1 "Survive the Onslaught" Master / Solo Master Cataclysm Encounter. Just a quick video showing a solo clear of the first encounter in the new Lightfall raid, being done on Master mode along with the challenge being completed solo for the Adept weapon. Details below.
Not the easiest thing to do, but not the most difficult either. The biggest part of this was just learning the Tormentor AI during the encounter. Particularly where it could spawn, how to get it to follow you (so you could have it close enough for when you pick up the buff), and where it would end up if you didn't defeat it. After figuring those things out, it's basically the same as normal mode, except things hurt a lot more and the Barrier Colossus can one hit you with their stomps.
To do the challenge mode, you just need to have the Field of Light buff when you defeat the Tormentors. It makes things a little tricky at times when doing it solo, but fundamentally doesn't make things too different in a normal group scenario.
Second encounter doesn't really change much for the solo, so I'll probably just wait and see what the challenge mode is for that and if it's possible. If not, I'll just do a regular master solo of that.
A lot of people asking about Solo Nezarec too, and that will come later in the season (assuming they don't change it in the mid-season patch). There's other things I want to get done before starting on that, so it's not a priority right now. But it's very cool to see it being done, and hopefully the third encounter will end up being possible. That will make for the third full raid to be possible solo in D2 (at one point or another).

It may be torture, but putting a sniper into your loadout all the time, you will improve your shots naturally as your brain goes “Oh! This time I need to aim a little more left/right this time.”

@@TITANa.k.a.RADIATION173 Other than the practice that someone else mentioned to you which is very important keep in mind this is the successful run. He could've done this for 20 minutes or 6 hours to get completion. It is a cool feat regardless but no one ever posts their failed runs on TH-cam where they missed the important shot or used sword fly and went to the wrong node.

Depends on how good you are of course. But alot of this is loadout and memorizing mechanics / ai behavior.

I’d like to see some of these solo challenges done on hunter if that’s even possible. I know titans and warlocks have better movement and that’s huge in these runs.
Not movement.. it’s survivability. Hunter would be close to impossible to do something like this on unfortunately.

There’s a selection on controller and Pc to use your charged melee instead of your CQC melee. It’s in your controls and ya have to select it

@@aidenation101 not a bad thing at all, for experience players, master feels like the sweet spot, especially if I’ll be running it weekly. Normal feels great to run low man’s if you want more of a challenge and all of the new players that came on for Lightfall are most definitely not breezing through this, I’ve seen them struggle first hand.
For us long term players, whether we like it or not the game was crafted to a way that gate kept new players from being able to join and catch up. We want final shape to blow our fucking minds and the cash injection they just got means better content. I could just be hopeful but be patient 🙂
@@ThatFletcherGuy. let us hope so, I really would like Lightfall to blow every DLC we thought was the previous best out of the water. But when it comes to RON, a similar thing happened in D1 with WOTM, where the mechanics were simpler, and in a way easier, but the raid itself was not easy. Despite that, it’s IMO the best raid Bungie has put out to this day, as I could always go for a causal 370 pr a challenging 390 run. With RON, it just felt like a dungeon mechanic but with a timer on you(except for planets, that was a bit interesting). It feels like Bungie just does not have direction where they want to take the game sometimes. But maybe I’m in the minority, who knows
