It started bsck in 2009, she was accepting what I think was her first ever award, at the vmas, Kanye was 32, she was 19. He stole the mic out of her hand as she was about to make her speech, and basically said Beyoncé deserved it not her. Beyoncé had no part in that. They actually made up, and Taylor released a song on her album (that she write entirely by herself) speak now, called “innocent” that is forgiving Kanye. Some time later, kanye released a song called “Famous”. That song included the line “I bet me and Taylor might still have s*x because I made that b*tch famous”. The music video for the song also has a naked wax figure of her in a bed with him. Anyway, Kanye called Taylor before releasing the song to ask her if the line was okay. If I remember it right Taylor asked him is it offensive or anything? And Kanye said no. So Taylor said it was fine then, and he released the song. When she heard the line, she posted about it on social media saying something like “I never said he could say something mean, and he never played the song to me” Kim (Kanye’s girl at the time) and Kanye were recording the phone call. Kim edited the phone call to paint Taylor as the bad guy, and people believed Kim. The whole media turned on Taylor, causing her to disappear from public view form 2016-2017. She finally came out with the album reputation in 2017. A clap back to the whole media. In the album she was playing the role that the social media was casting her as. The villain.
