My flight was once delayed for over an hour because a passenger needed something urgently from their checked bag, so we all had to wait at the gate for the case to be dug out. After an hour, the staff keep asking what item they should bring from the bag and the passenger decided they didn’t actually need it after all. It was weird and I’m sure some people missed their connections that day 😕

Best thing for an airline to do is set aside that passenger & go on with check-in. So that it would NOT delay the rest of the passengers. 😊

Interesting! I always have my meds in pill sorters so I don't forget if I took them or not, and I've never been asked about them on domestic OR international flights. I do mail order, and the bottles they come in are always huge and barely filled. They're in small round plastic sorters in my personal bag.

    • @Jahadyn
      @Jahadyn หลายเดือนก่อน

It's just luck. If Customs decides to search your bags and they find that sorter and you do not have the prescriptions, you WILL almost certainly have a problem. Even if none of them are narcotics, you will find yourself held in Customs for hours while they determine that.

I really like your travel tips channel, it is very informative, relevant, well-detailed, organized, and visually entertaining.
I for one still consider myself a newbie when it comes to travel. I’m 70 and my first international flight was only about 10 years ago; to date, i’ve been to germany and italy, with more to come, hopefully, and all of your tips and insights i’m taking seriously and to heart.
Part of the problem for many people like myself is, that we don’t travel frequently enough to remember all of your tips and advice, so we make repeated mistakes; therefore, i’m taking a ton of notes that i will review each time i travel.
Just recently, i’ve updated my global entry pass and my passport pass, i have a few more years before my passport expires, and oh yes, i reup my tsa pre-check status, so i’m up to date on all of those little nasties that can ruin an otherwise good and fun trip.
Thank you very much for being my guide.

    Per TSA
The TSA does not require you to have your medication in its original prescription bottle, so traveling with a pill case does not violate any rules. You will also generally not have to tell the officers about your medication unless it is a liquid.

Passengers are allowed to put prescription pills in other than original containers, such as tiny ziplock pill bags. I have traveled internationally as well as domestically (USA to Europe and within U.S.) last year (2022)and will be doing so again domestically a month from now and again internationally in 3 months. I do take the original labels and tape them to each tiny bag as proof they're my legally prescribed medications. It's always good to keep prescription info in one's personal item and labeling medication so there's no mixups. I haven't had any issues whatsoever in doing so with any U.S. based airline or that of another within Europe. I've only just recently discovered and subscribed to your channel so I'm catching up on this year and last year's vids☆ p.s. I do everything to save space and only travel with carry on and personal item no matter how long a trip. 👍

My girlfriend was *mortified* to be wearing the same outfit she had on the day before. On the flight back, the same thing happened. There are lead bags to put film in and ask for a manual inspection especially if its high speed film. Don't bring coca leaves back from Peru but you can bring coca tea back. No it doesn't get you high but it does help with altitude sickness. I think Canada opened up for U.S. fully vaccinated drivers so thank you Canadian people. When I did some professional photography in the pre-digital days, I would FedEx my unexposed films to my destination. After I shot 40 or 50 rolls, I would then FedEx those rolls to the lab I used for processing. Never had a problem. There are lead or barium lined bags to stash films in but I was told the scanner operator will just crank up the juice to get a better look, so best to demand a hand check.

With not packing coffee beans - it makes lot of . However, I suggest there is an exception to this. If you are flying into Darwin International Airport (very very small by international standards- more like a regional airport) Australia from Dili International Airport Timor Leste (even smaller), I think the quarantine and custom officers expect a certain number of passengers will be bringing coffee into Australia. Timor grows a lot of coffee. It it is very good, usually organic and cheap. I used to bring back 5 to 8 kilograms of coffee with me from Timor to give as gifts.
Australia has very strict quarantine laws, and you are expected to declare any food items. However, I remember coming back into Darwin once to be greeted by one of the quarantine offices saying over and over again to the passengers arriving from Timor Leste, ‘ other than coffee, do you have any food items?’😊

I was once informed at LAX that my “luggage was lost”.
I remember that I had previously hid an apple AirTag in my luggage and I knew exactly where it was.
The agent kept telling me that it as lost and “no where to be found”
My luggage located in lost bag claim according to my AirTag but I was not allowed in that area.
I showed a security guard the location on my phone and he personally went to retrieve my luggage.
If I did not have that locating device in my luggage, I’m sure that I never would have been reunited with my luggage.

You should always ask the airline clerks and TSA agents to point out the thieves working in the airport.

I got a heavy Dell laptop charger which i keep in my check in bag to take some of the weight off my backpack, which already becomes heavy after putting in all the battery devices. But I make sure to fully charge the laptop before leaving, so that it could used for emergencies. I generally don’t travel for work and the laptop is a just in case thing if needed to properly access internet banking etcetera, so this has been working for me so far. I really wish to travel light someday without worries.

Also, always put those items (electronics, travel documents, etc.) in a place in your hand luggage where you can easily take them out at the gate in case you need to check in your hand luggage there. It's helpful to know exactly where everything is for other uses too.

I'm going to Thailand and taking my ADHD meds (metylphenidate) with me and they HAVE to be in the checked bag! Always check the legal circumstances for the place you're travelling to. During my research I think I did even read that anti-depressants are completely forfidden in Dubai or die UAE.

I'm in Thailand. I have been going to the pharmacies looking for Valerian, which they usually have, but here on Samui everyone is saying, "You want Valium?" One also had ritalin in her OTC bag of tricks, but I don't think that would have helped me sleep.

If I have to travel to a location where I have to bring my own shampoo and the like, I will take a bottle that I can actually tape with duct tape and even then put it in a ziplock bag inside your suitcase (don't forget to pack some tape for the return flight, unless you're leave the bottle).

It pays off to have friends or family that know this knowledge kinda easy access of what or not expected in certain areas and what changes hey faster access than news or even Google 😉😀😄 so you won't make no no no remember each state is totally different and always be flexible unless you plan walking home or arrested 😉😊 so no drama queens hint hint for any travelers so where ever you go check your area where you plan to stay unless you want to have wrong communication and you only damage your own self 😉.
