You can hear the pain in his voice when he said 35 dollars. Honestly he should drop his connection with Lego, that would be the right thing to do.
@@zennar1537 as much as i agree with lego being more $$$, i think solid should stay with lego just for the reviews. at least he provides an unbiased review like jang but gets the products earlier. i'll take that compromise
@@HondaOhnaka I agree that he is dead honest. But you can tell he doesn’t stand for Lego it’s business model, so out of ethical reasons I believe he should cut his ties. Furthermore, this will hopefully send a strong signal to Lego.
@@zennar1537 ethics is hard to discuss for me. i just feel that in this case, if solid brix criticizes the prices as an ambassador, more people inclined will believe, less purchases, and less sales for lego. win for us, win for solid for free lego, and not a win for lego overall.
@@zennar1537 No it won't lol. He's one guy out of many that Lego works with and besides the only thing companies listen to are profits. If no one buys these sets they'll stop doing them. Also he would lose a valuable resource and partnership that is 100% worth it for him. We would also lose a valuable source of clearly unbiased and pro-consumer opinions. It would be reckless, pointless, and bad for us for him to end things with Lego.
They had a perfect opportunity to include one of the Force Priestesses as a third figure...

I think a Corporate Alliance Tank Droid at this $35 price would be really cool. I may buy this for a decent sale. It’s a cool set, for a few dollars cheaper.

Gotta love the honesty. Despite having an affiliated link and working with Lego in the past, it's good to see David calling out problems when he sees them.
Considering everything I'd say this should easily be $10 cheaper.
I have the 2017 one that was way cheaper. I like how R2 sits in that one over this one, he sticks out a too much on the new one which is not accurate. I can say though that this one is more accurate in the shape and size than the one from 2017. I would love to see a side by side comparison of the two versions though.
It’s kinda insane how it was only in such a small arc and LEGO decides to make the star fighter twice now with little improvements to the overall set. A third mini figure would’ve went a long way for this set. But for $35 in todays market is highway robbery compared to Obi-wans fighter.
I genuinely do not remember seeing Yoda's starfighter 😂

@@JP-yf2fkTechnically, since that arc wasn’t even meant to be the finale of the season because the series got cancelled halfway through season 6 and that was the last arc that was fully completed at the time, the rest were all left unfinished and most still are to this day
I sincerely agree with your point that the Republic to CIS sets has been way off in the past years. I have amassed the entire GAR since 2020, but we haven't gotten a vulture droid since 2014.
I wonder if the third minifigure could have been one of the force sensitive beings that Yoda follows the voice of in the season 6 arc. It's the only time we see his starfighter hence it's from this arc. The slot perhaps would have been better used if it were a two-ship set. Bump it up to $40 and you could have Anakin's and Ahsoka's jedi starfighters. Thank you as always for the honest review.
Thank you for pointing out the price + the minifigure and piece count that is just completely absurd. Gotta wait for some sales to get these sets like the Yavin 4.
Personally id love to see a updated hyena bomber. We havent gotten one since line 2010 ish and its be great for 35 dollars/euros. Maybe it could even have a admiral trench exclusive minifig
Why couldn't we have gotten a different starfighter? We could've got a remake of Plo Koon's starfighter, or Kit Fisto, or even Ahsoka's starfighter!

I honestly think it would have been cooler if they had done the escape pod that yoda uses in revenge of the sith. it has a farily unique design that's never been done and they could have included some Wookiees. I've also never loved the idea of yoda using a starfighter in the first place.

Well from a star wars fan perspective it having 2 figures makes sense, yoda was on a secret mission where he couldn’t involve any other characters. (Except r2 I guess)
If anything at least make the Priestesses on the Force planet a mini figure for this set!
They could have just re-colored the Kimonoan figure's mold to do it too.
Cattle Decap is only half a step down at E flat and heavier than uranium too
The Yoda figure actually has a very new torso design. Pretty similar but many differences.
Good review. Kudo's that you took the criticism seriously about stepping to easy over the price increases. I wont always agree, but that isn't important, afterall it is your review and your opinion is important to me.
With how honest you're reviews are becoming I imagine it won't be long until Lego stops sending you free sets to review lol

Lego is releasing lots of clone sets recently, but literally almost no separatist characters or anything.

CORRECTION: The Yoda from this set is new. Look at the new one and old one side by side. There is a slight difference

More interesting than like another tie fighter or x-wing
I actually like that there are classic TIE, Bomber, and Intercepters on the shelf at the same time. But that for the price of this Yoda Starfighter you could get a classic TIE Fighter instead just goes to show how bad this set's value is.
I would have loved for this set to come with a couple of Whill’s since that’s the episode this set is based on

The more overpriced and lackluster sets lego puts out with cut corners the more money I save so I’m really glad this exists
This set as it comes, should not have been more than $25. The size of the ship, the amount of minifigures... makes sense to be priced accordingly. Similar to Battlepacks which have been $15 for many years, and are now costing $20-30, the price increase would be justified had the sets content improved as well, more minifigures, larger builds, more smaller builds, anything really. Granted the 501st Legion "Battlepack" included an extra vehicle, but for what its worth it should not have retired so soon. I feel like Lego is testing its Star Wars fans to see where the limit is for price - quality, which is kinda shameful, as apposed to making great sets affordably that the majority of the fan base clearly wanted.
I’ll probably wait till it’s on sale for more like $28 hopefully. Thanks for the review!

So I was hoping and crossing my fingers that no one would review this epic set, until I've bought it... (I Know it's a crazy request to the universe). But Solid Brix... Can we please stop getting Republic sets? The last CIS set that we got was the AAT, and that had 2 Republic figures and 2 droids. We need to stop endorsing this. Instead of doing a third 501st Battlepack, why don’t we get a rebel battlepack or a stormtrooper battlepack or God forbid a battle droid battlepack.

@@commanderkronos we got 11 sets Mandalorian and 28 sets from original, which literally more than a double compare to CW sets. We got more clones Wars sets starting from atte sets tho

I'm glad you made the point about not enough droid packs, I'm busy trying to build armies for war gaming except lego only do clone troops and with no droids to buy I had to alter the story to the 501 are fighting rebels post clone wars except then I can only find just 2 older rebel troop packs (excluding hoth which is too specific) so then I'm having to alter the story to some of ashokas troops escaped order 66 and now fight as rebels under her, except woops, ashoka went into hiding after order 66, so no lego don't make this easy, and they don't release bulk figurines either which is also annoying, 4 figures doesn't cut it for what I'm trying to do.
I would love to see a new MTT, we haven’t gotten one since 2014 and it’d be a good droid army building set

I could've seen this one being a good fit if it was the first time we got it and we had a 3rd figure, but since we got it already and only have 2 figures, it just feel unnecessary for this wave

I have a feeling this was a fill in set as you’ve made a lot of reasonable points and chances are there would have been another set that this one replaced. The build is to similar to its older* one but yeah your right another two figs would be better with this price.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but LEGO has yet to make a single set this year based off of Star Wars: Clone Wars(2003). The thing they are supposedly celebrating the 20th anniversary of.
That aside, the set isn't at all a good value... and I'm not sure anyone was clamoring for another Yoda starfighter.

I wish Lego would revisit Plo Koon's starfighter. I'd like an R7 that isn't warped by TCW's cartoon aesthetic. A redesigned Shaak Ti would also be nice.
I realise everyone isn't happy with it but with inflation and all everything has rose up and for new fans or people who didn't get the original one first time round its perfect or the yoda and double printed r2 for cheap

Almost $50 in Canada with taxes when it releases. Considering the US price, yes: it is ridiculous for such a small starfighter with literally two of the smallest characters and R2-D2 being done over and over... AND we just got Yoda with the Dagobah diorama. Outside of that Clone Wars tag for the anniversary, I don't see any reason to own this. Kids can get more for as much in terms of toys outside of LEGO and other themes from LEGO may offer more.
I realy wish this is something else a snail tank would have been a good fit for this slot with a couple kashyyyk clones. Alternatively if they were set on making another form of jedi fighter they could've made ashoka's interceptor with a couple buzz droids a updated cw Ashoka and her astromech. Either of those I have little doubt would sell better than a Yoda interceptor also a Ashoka interceptor would've gonna perfect with the ashoka show coming out close to release of the set.

If this set came with an additional small build and an exclusive figure of Darth Bane’s spirit that appears in the episode arc where this ship comes from, then I think $35 would’ve been a perfect price point. At its current piece count it’s definitely not worth it at all.

I'm just seeing this after getting mine new for £18/$23 wgich seems to be the going rate atm and very much closer to the correct price. But it is a nice figure, and at the 40% off rrp, i felt it was good value.
I actually bought this set , just wanted the yoda starfighter. Even if a little more than wanted , was whilling to pay the 5$

If they put a Bane minfig in there, I would have paid $40. I collect the starfighters and even I'm hesitant on this one right now. The only reason I'm even considering getting it is because I don't have the old one, and that's more expensive now and worse quality.
I don't think it's much different from the previous one. But it's cool.👍

Unfortunately I’m buying this still 😢 haven’t bought a yoda or Star fighter yet hoping it goes on sale for 28$. They should add one of the characters from his trials when he’s visiting moraband. A force priestess, darth bane, or sifo-dyas. Even a palpatine and Dooku over their table doing the ritual. Any of those would have been a solid addition. Would save this set

This is one of the few sets i want and i like i know people didn't want it or wanted or wanted a darth bane which i agree on both but i couldn't get the older one and this look better for me so it's a good set for me but overall not needed for the community and i agree but the price? Hahaha no if i find it for 20€ I'll buy it 40€ for that nahhhhhhh
All in all I feel like this is a set that we just don´t needed. The build is nice but pretty similar to the older versions, the figures aren´t exclusive and I don´t feel a need to get this set again yet
