  • We had no idea what #kofa was when we heard it, but boy are we glad that we explored this amazing #backcountry. This video highlights our three day adventure into the Kofa National Wilderness Refuge. We traveled a total of 106 off-road miles into the beautiful remote wilds of the Yuma Desert region of the Sonoran Desert. Three days of off-roading into the rugged beauty where we were all able to disconnect from the daily grind and connect with nature, each other, and recenter! If you have ever been curious about the trails and scenery in the Kofa Wildlife Refuge, come along for the adventure.

Great video, we just got back from spending 4 nites at the end of palm canyon rd in Kofa. We did the queens canyon trail to the end, very cool. The next day we went down to castle dome and went up the McPherson pass back to king valley rd, but the went left, was pretty but kinda short. Would love to do the 60 mile one you did, so did you go up to the Kofa mine and then east from there?

What an awesome trip!!! Kofa is a real gem for sure. Four nights is a good time to see a lot of the refuge. We did not make it out to the Kofa mine…we wish we had two additional days to explore. We hope to return to do some additional exploring on the south side.

Kids is our favorite place to go. So beautiful. But I do think it is time your wife gets her own 4x. Once you get to drive, being a passenger isn’t as much fun. My husband n I have our own jeeps 😊

We did that trail in our stock wk2 overland from Salome,az via Harquahala Road, across interstate 10 into the KOFA, to the southern end, then east to the 95 near quartzite in 1 day. Took us about 6hrs. Very fun area, we did come across a border patrol agent tucked in the bushes and he asked if we had any firearms, and we told him we definitely did... he said: "Good" "Don't stop for anyone in this area". We didn't

    Hi!
I love your guys channel, and your Tacoma!
From watching your videos i get the feeling you guys are located in San Diego County? Orange County?
I am in the very southern part of Orange County. Do you know of a good club to jump in with for "not so extreme" trips? Like mild to beginning intermediate trails.
I want to start hitting the trails with my 13 year old but would feel more comfortable in a group and it would be great to meet some like minded people.
    Can you recommend any?
Thanks, and keep up the good work!

Thank you so much. We really appreciate your comments and support. There are some great groups. Check out Off Road Overland Camping on Facebook. They organize different trips. Another one we recommend is American Adventurist instagram.com/americanadventurist?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
They plan some cool trips throughout the year. You can also check out local overland meetups. That is how we started, it’s a great way to connect with others in the community.
