This pen is so gorgeous! I do like that ink, kinda disappointing that it doesn't look like the swatch. I have a sample of Sailor Manyo Haha and I thought that would be perfect with this pen too.
There are several Sailor inks that seem to go really well with that pen. I've used the fountain pen for several days now and I really enjoy how the ink shades and dries, I think that's what you would call a chromoshading ink.
I did receive my Kaweco Iridescent Pearl (F) and I love it. I filled it with Sailor Manyo Nekoyanagi, perfect pairing for me as well.!! Thank you for your video.!!! 💕
I am sooo tempted to get this pen! It looks so beautiful! But I’m meant to be on a low spend this year 😅 I am definitely not getting stickers and washi tape but these beautiful fountain pens are so tempting.
I know this is not the healthiest way to purchase, but I'm using spending as a reward system. If I achieve a specific goal then I get to purchase something that I have determined before I started working toward the goal. This way I don't just buy things randomly.
I got my Iridescent Pearl (fine) last week, my first fountain pen ever. I LOVE IT! I ordered the pearl black ink cartridges to use with it as I don't like blue. Seemownay, I don't know why I haven't started this hobby earlier! I ordered 3 more Kawecos this morning - Mint, Macchiato and the Rose Gold AL. So much for no-spend this month!
I'm so glad you loved the Kaweco Sport so much. I hope those fountain pens bring you lots of joy! Have fun playing around with inks and nib sizes and papers! It's such a great hobby!
I have just gone down the Kaweco rabbit hole and love them. I actually enjoy how lightweight they are. I got the Olive green, Bordeaux, Mint, white and pearl.. so the journey has just begun and of course, I must buy the clips
I've ordered this as well (although I haven't gotten mine yet!) for the same reason. At first I though I had too many Kaweco Sports but then I couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful this pen was and eventually gave in with the thought that I, too, would punch myself if I didn't get it. The pen looks great! Now I really can't wait to get mine! What an excellent choice of ink to pair it with, too! ALSO: Be VERY careful, these plastic Sports nib units don't unscrew, they're actually friction-fit so taking this feed out is not as straightforward and there's definitely a risk of breaking something in the process!!!
Thanks for the comment and pointing out my mistake. I noticed after I filmed the video that the Sports don't unscrew like the AL Sport but are friction fit.
Hello, I've found your videos last December and I'm enjoying them a lot, thanks for making them. That vinta ink is lovely! It looks a lot like Troublemaker sea glass. I bought it too, I was gladly surprised it wasn't as unicorn colour as I thought I'd be but I've put Sailor manyo nekoyanagi, I would have preferred Sailor Haha but I don't own it.
I wonder if they advertised it the wrong way because I know multiple people who were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as flashy as they expected it to be. There was another person who commented on this video who also filled it with Nekoyanagi. This one and Haha seem to be go to choices for many. Thanks so much for your comment, I love having you here!
I ordered one from goulet pens as well (F nib) it’s even lovelier in person! I had questions about the converter you really cleared things up for me ❤️❤️❤️
That's right - I want to be able to swap inks and pens more often so I won't fill my cartridges all the way and the converter is actually very convenient for me.
that's what is so interesting about fountain pens. Everyone has to find their own sweet spot and there is a fair bit of trail and error. But that is the fun journey
I just bought this one today! First time user. I did not know that there’s a cartridge inside the pen already I couldn’t figure out how to close the pen. I thought I bought the wrong cartridge? Wrong length? I was so confused. I saw you bang it on the table and it fell out and I’m like OHHHHHHH
Yes, it was smooth and surprisingly it's quite wet, but that might probably be the ink as Kawecos are rather dry. All the Kawecos I have purchased had consistently well nib quality, which was surprising to me.
Nope didn't buy this one... I do like the new color but I have 3 Kaweco sports and 1 Kaweco brass sport, and I find that I usually only reach for the brass sport. I like a weightier pen especially if it's pocket pen. I have this same ink and it seems so much lighter in color than yours. Maybe it's all in my head.
Fair enough! I made a similar experience with the AL Sport and have decided that I will only purchase AL Sports from now on. I received the ink as a sample from a friend and they weren't 100% sure. However it changes the color when it dries (depending on the paper) and then looks a bit darker on TRP.

Ah, yes, that is an ink I have seen multiple people use to fill this ink! Have fund with your pen!

@@seemownay that's a really good idea 🤔 I guess I need to start setting some goals for myself.
What a beauty 🌈 And thanks for showing how you place pen filling accoutrements to dry in that container; I don’t have dedicated space either 😉
I hope it's helpful, I have a lot of those Iris containers from my scrapbooking days.
I love it. I just bought it. Your unboxing video made me do it. 🤣
Hope you enjoy it!

That’s a lovely ink! It might need a really wet pen to shine.
It is a really wet ink as this pen writes extremely wet, which is pretty unusual for a Kaweco.
When I purchased my first Kaweco I thought my converter was broken haha. My husband used brute force and it worked!
Oh no! I'm glad you were able to get it to work.

This pen is so beautiful, I bought seven.
That's a lot.
7? Of the same one? Now that’s dedication!😅😊
a lot, but not too much.. lol

Wonderful, I'm glad I was able to help! It is such a gorgeous pen, hope you enjoy!
Nice. If you can refill a caterage from Kaweco, it will give you more space - ink will last longer.
That's right - I want to be able to swap inks and pens more often so I won't fill my cartridges all the way and the converter is actually very convenient for me.
how fun, do you you still like this pen? I am thinking about getting one
I sold the pen because I didn't enjoy the narrow grip section. I don't have any Kaweco Sports left but one with a BB nib.
that's what is so interesting about fountain pens. Everyone has to find their own sweet spot and there is a fair bit of trail and error. But that is the fun journey
I agree with you: I love that it's actually **iridescent**, not holographic.

Was the nib smooth? Sport nibs can be real crap.
Yes, it was smooth and surprisingly it's quite wet, but that might probably be the ink as Kawecos are rather dry. All the Kawecos I have purchased had consistently well nib quality, which was surprising to me.
all of my Kaweco's wrote well, right out of the box.. I usually buy the medium nib size

Hi Lorelei, I actually prefer the lighter weight sports.. so it is so fun that this pen hobby has something for everyone.
