Yes. I play in a dark ambient/experimental duo and we use much more guitars than keyboards. So try to do something in this video and put paulstretch effect in Audacity; you will make a such dark ambient music. And that's why I am not famous ahah.
2:19 - Sounds scary as hell. Imagine being alone in your house, then you suddenly heard someone crying in a room/basement/attic that you rarely go inside. 2:33 - Classic console game start/select/pause game sound effect. One word: EPIC. 3:18 - No more sloppy, messy sweep-picking in major scale arpeggios lol 3:24 - (*Intro music playing*) starts singing Grenade by Bruno Mars XD 6:04 - This might induce altered state of consciousness/lucid-dreaming/out-of-body experience Okay, jokes aside. I'm really amazed on the EEG headset, especially with the ability to control the rate of the vibrato and the amount of reverb by attention. It really amplifies the effect of playing emotionally.
Vocalist: Tom, did you finally write that guitar part or not?! You've had like two weeks. Tom: No, but look what I can do! *rubs screwdriver all over guitar*
no advertising of instagram\facebook\goat ass profiles in th beginning no useless quack-quack no talking about gear this guy is awesome just for that. video starts and then the content starts
yo bro, that last part you played really was amazing. it's super slow and easy but damn it was breath taking... plz make a video adding on to that song n post it. got to hear the rest.
Who knew, with a guitar and some unexpected stuff you could achieve these sounds ? Not me, definitely, thanks I'll make use of this tricks for some atmospheric stuff.
Though I bet many guitarists have discovered it on their own by just messing around / through hours of practice, it's no secret. It's just a technique that not a lot of players use. Can't remember who, but I saw one guy in a video a few years back who was incorporating it into his style really well.
I'm pretty sure the violin is considered the instrument that most resembles human voice but now I'm not so sure. That screwdriver sounds EXACTLY like an opera singer.
Small electric motor near the pickups. Try a pulsating motor like an electric toothbrush. Bit of distortion and reverb makes it sound really weird. You can also use the resulting vibrations to move the strings generating several tones at once.
The "glitch tapping" is very cool; I did it by accident while learning how to tap when I was a kid. Now I do it to warm up my fingers. I've used slides a lot, and created many sounds like these on my own. I bet a lot of these are discovered by chance through many hours of practice--it's bound to happen. Except for the EEG thing; that's WILD! Cool video, for sure.
the arcade-esque sound you got from hitting the screwdriver handle on the strings near the pickups is also easily achieved if you use a floyd rose tremolo bar across that same area, which is what i've done in the past.
"-let's make a experimental/drone band
-ok, lemme grab my guitar and my screwdriver"
-The foundation of Godspeed you! black emperor.

Yes. I play in a dark ambient/experimental duo and we use much more guitars than keyboards. So try to do something in this video and put paulstretch effect in Audacity; you will make a such dark ambient music. And that's why I am not famous ahah.

EvilAlbear Just writing music atm, band stuff hopefully in the future.
Precisely what I am doing.
The EEG headset thing is absolutely astonishing, literally one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Imagine mastering that
2:19 - Sounds scary as hell. Imagine being alone in your house, then you suddenly heard someone crying in a room/basement/attic that you rarely go inside.

Great comment!
3:24 this sound behinds a guitarist from Bruno Mars band using this technique in live version of Grenade?
This is like guitar ASMR
Ivan Minchev lol
Somewhere, Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) is nodding in approval
I liked him better in Audioslave.
Especially with the screwdriver hahah

I was thinking that as well😂
Tom Morello uses such weird shit on his guitar
The Elite Onyx General he also never lowers his strap
This is incredible. I want to write a horror movie theme with these.
Everytime im in a bad funk. I watch this guy and be inspired. Thanks you. You did it again.
I love your channel! it's like "how to basic" on guitar lol
+VanAngelic Haha, awesome!
Oh my goodness this is so accurate 😂

no advertising of instagram\facebook\goat ass profiles in th beginning
no useless quack-quack
no talking about gear
this guy is awesome just for that. video starts and then the content starts
Thank you! I like to keep it straight to the point.
If there was a whole album of just a slow mix of all these techniques, I'd buy it instantly.
Comb filter at 7:00 sounds so much like what you naturally hear on a shroom trip but without the guitar.
Why is this so infuriatingly relaxing... this is like meditation or something. Doesn't require a lot of attention but man does it have all of mine.
Holy shit. I Can make music with just this and my limited guitar skills. Liked and faved for sure.
I'm totally using the creepy ones when I make my own music xD
I recon some of these scary techniques could be used in some atmospheric black metal song intros
Why does this remind me of how to basic?
because of the fast cuts
+Mick Shadows yep..hahaha
because there's a screwdriver
Haha wtf??
the jump cuts
TH-cam needs more guitar videos like this
yo bro, that last part you played really was amazing. it's super slow and easy but damn it was breath taking... plz make a video adding on to that song n post it. got to hear the rest.
so this is how radiohead makes its experimental music huh
deep sea discovery channel documentary noises
I'm using all these techniques. you sir are a sound bender. I bow to you, sifu
these all sound like sound effects you would use in a horror movie.
You know that you're playing Metal when you play guitar with a screwdriver :D
The whole attention converted into MIDI data thing was pretty cool... subscribed.
Those wails with the screwdriver shaft are awesome.
These tunes sound so much like GYBE
Genuinely think the "screwdriver bow" sound is what angels sound like
Who knew, with a guitar and some unexpected stuff you could achieve these sounds ? Not me, definitely, thanks I'll make use of this tricks for some atmospheric stuff.
literally been making spooky ghost noises for over a hour now :D
that screw driver is crazy
Do you know the tone settings for that?
2spooky4theworld.
3spoopy5myface
Cassie Schipani The lmao is intense on this one!
I love doing those harmonic bends. I hate you for sharing my secret.
Haha, sorry!
Though I bet many guitarists have discovered it on their own by just messing around / through hours of practice, it's no secret. It's just a technique that not a lot of players use. Can't remember who, but I saw one guy in a video a few years back who was incorporating it into his style really well.
the bird sound :D
reminds me of lynyrd skynyrd. free bird, baby.
+Jimmy Campos Exactly ! Now I've figured it out how they made it live.
Kinda reminds me of the effects Michael Schenker did on the Lonesome Crow album
half of it sounded like it belonged in like a really dope horror game or something, it sounded beautiful keep up the amazing work man
Thanks for the kind words!
3:50 sounds like the dazed and confused live versions
I'm really digging these styles. You made it clear on how to do it
well I'm ready to never sleep again
Absolutely brilliant, will definitely give some of these a try.
What an innovative video.
Using the metal part of the screwdriver was pretty badass.
I'm pretty sure the violin is considered the instrument that most resembles human voice but now I'm not so sure. That screwdriver sounds EXACTLY like an opera singer.
man you are a genius .. im a music producer and sometimes i record guitar for sessions and you gave me new ideas
Thank you, glad to hear that!
Close your eyes and watch this
Elijah Borg I tried, but I couldn't see the video. I have this terrible condition where I close my eyes, and then can't see anything. Is that normal?
Whait a minute...
Incredible. Controlling FX parameters using focus/attention, really incredible... I'm watchin' this one again....
I wanna mind-control all my effects. That's way cooler than an expression pedal.
I think you're a genius and you're most certainly an inspiration to anyone who watches your videos! Keep up the good work +Bad Guitar.
I appreciate that, thank you so much!
the handle of the screw driver sounds like when Kirby spits out an enemy in old Kirby games
Woah, didn't expect to see you here. 😅
And it totally does. Haha
O shit waddup
That's great!!!! Never tried goofing around with slides or screwdrivers in quite that way....cool,eerie stuff!
Small electric motor near the pickups. Try a pulsating motor like an electric toothbrush. Bit of distortion and reverb makes it sound really weird. You can also use the resulting vibrations to move the strings generating several tones at once.
Thanks for sharing!
OMG keep uploading cool / informative videos like this and you'll be huge
You should have called the video " how to make creepy sounds on guitar"
Andrew Media true
Awesome creativity. The screwdriver blew me up
from 7:00 it started to sound like some Pink Floyd stuff
More like gilmourdivisionbell stuff
Pu Derrick and I can swear between 1:42-1:45 I heard some echoes (meddle)
Aslı Altınkılıç
If Aphex Twin learnt guitar
ASMR with a guitar, best fucking thing I ever saw in my life. O.O
I've always love doing all these things you showed with a slide, but I've never even thought of the screwdrivers thing. I've gotta try that out!
Epic, but made me pretty sleepy
me too lolol
glad you're uploading again, great videos (:
Glad you like them!
I appreciate the nightmares.
the ambience around the 6:30 mark was amazing
This was very doooooommm
Love the spooky vibes that come with it.
Tom Morello would be proud
Guy, it's amazing. I've found your channel by a mistake, but it's so incredible.
+Mattheus Dias de Jesus Alberto Glad you like it!
YOU RE A GENIUS !!!!!!!!!!!!
That last rythm... 7:46 man that's mellow,
And I need mellow and that hit the spot.
Pretty sure something like the first screwdriver trick was used for the left for dead theme.. Sounds eerily like something from it haha
Who else wants to tell ghost stories while playing guitar?
Amazing tips! Thanks for sharing. I’m going to try a few of these right away!
2:20 sounds eerily like a woman singing opera. Shit could be used in any horror film
This is outstanding. I’m familiar with some of these tricks but you make them musical.
Your hands look like buckethead's hands
Buckethands
+Almighty RS did someone summon me?
Marino Oliveira Yeah I thought that too, 4 fingers and a thumb on each just like buckethead. Weird shit!
you're one of the best and most creative players i know!! never seen such stuff before! thanks for sharing!!!!!
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words!
That would be amazing to get more reverb as you get lost in the music
I've actually done the screwdriver thing in my younger days. COOL.
Try replacing the strings with fruit in the next vid ;D
100% recommend
That is SO fun! Wait.. I just realized you are talking about *guitar* strings. I'll try that too!
+Bad Guitar ;3 Best of luck, bowl shredder!
+Bad Guitar RIP guitar
Cool, I like the ghostly horror sound that came.
hit the strings behind the nut without muting (better on Fender than on Gibsons though because of head shape)
Awesome! I appreciate you sharing some cool techniques!
...so I would need a Stanley screwdriver, not a Craftsman....got it!
the arcade-esque sound you got from hitting the screwdriver handle on the strings near the pickups is also easily achieved if you use a floyd rose tremolo bar across that same area, which is what i've done in the past.
Lol just sounds like a dragon force song...
Jahnu8 true
2:10 Sounds like a fucking opera singer. chilling and amazing
