I'm happy I found your channel since this happrun projector is the one I blindly bought off Amazon last year and hadn't gotten to use it much yet. Great information here. Thanks!
The WiMiUS p64 projector has a lot of impressive specs and features at a low price point. Would love to see that in the test! Was going to get a groview 818c but will now wait to see if anything can better it at that price point.
Another solid video Rob! Always appreciate the effort you put into things. I just ordered a H1 to try out and throw into my collection. I'm going to give it a fair chance against the $230 used BenQ W1070 I picked up off of eBay, but I think the real test will be how it compares to the $40 WXGA Panasonic projector I got off eBay last year. There are a TON of inexpensive WXGA projectors on the used market from major brands that may make a ton more sense for consumers, but I'm not sure how they really stack up to the bump in resolution of the cheap models. Would be an interesting comparison. Anyway, thanks again for this information, and certainly the test patterns apply to ALL projectors out there that may need some brightness/contrast adjustments. Also, awesome information that many projector brands are using the same IR codes that Yaber uses. That's some excellent info.
Great video! Thanks for including the calibration images. I couldn’t get the FireTV remote (on/off + volume) to work with the H1 projector (sister brand Topvosion). Any tips / other profiles I can try? Tried Topvision but didnt work.
I was about to buy a project in the $200-$600 category, I think I'll wait for your new video to come, as I could only find the $100 video. I'd like one with autofocus and the best one for a white wall max of 70 inches wide. Thanks so much!!

Would you recommend this for the classroom? I'm in the Caribbean where is sun is almost always out so not much of a dark room experience plus the kids still need to see to be able to take notes. If not could you recommend an affordable one great for displaying videos and text? Mainly text.
Hi! Are all these settings reasonable for the Nexigo PJ40 Gen3 or is it already good enough to support HDR, RGB color format and more than 8 bit colour depth?
I have a Google Chromecast that is connected to my HAPPRUN projector, and I had a problem controlling the volume on my Google remote, so I reset my Google Chromecast. Then I followed your advice and used Yaber as the brand of the TV, but unfortunately, I am still unable to control the volume on my Google Chromecast remote. 👍👍awesome video. Can you make a video comparing all the native 480p projectors you have in your arsenal. Ive just realized how great these projectors will be for retro gaming. I have no doubt your video will be popular within the gaming community. 💯 the wimius q2 mini looks promising
Brightness and contrast setup are good, but the firetv settings would not be advisable, better to let the HDMI EDID handle those settings automatically.
If you have option to set Aspect ratio, try to change it to 1:1 instead of auto... on my cheap Elephas Q9 native 1080p projector, the difference when i change it to 1:1 aspect ratio compared to other options it is night and day! .... it is like when you set aspect ratio 1:1 it bypass projector built in image processing... i got more accurate colors and better sharper image... try it and see if you have cheap projector...
That’s a $2500 projector and doesn’t currently have an international operating system. I’ll review it when it comes out in the US, but not in my $200-600 video.

Fabulous content! I purchased the NexiGo PJ40, and the Groview JQ818C based on your recommendations. Love them both, however I live in the country, and in a dusty area. Even though I clean the filters on a regular basis, I still get black specks on the screen. The Groview has a port to clean the image lenses. But it is a pain. Would the Vizony RD830 be a good choice? If so could you mention it in your February roundup? Or maybe talk about the pros and cons of a sealed optical engine? Any insight would be appreciated!!
Hello and thanks for all your great videos ! For the february test, could you include the fengmi formovie s5 ? (I think i might not be the last to ask !)
Hi! Love your videos! I got a question, I have a DLP projector with LED light (1500 lummens ansi) so far I love it, buuut I have notice that the red / yellow tones are over saturated, if I turn down saturation it fixes the problem but end up killing the overall color, do you know if there’s a way to fix this ? I’ve read that it’s an usual problem in this technology (DLP) thank you so much!
Just got a Groview jq818c projector and im checking on that screen since its recomended and at a great price... and want a tv box where i can connect my hard drives and watch local content. Whats the best budget option for that? Just to have a Kodi, mx player. I have an nvidia shield at home but this setup is for another place and i dont wanna spend too much. Just something that runs decen 1080p stuff and 4k movies from time to time.
Just got the jq818c and the fire stick remote isn’t controlling the projector sadly. Tried multiple times on yaber profile and even tried putting in an IR profile code myself (5575), but still isn’t working. Is there anything else that I can do?
Do you have a reasoning for that? I have a number of different chromecasts and aside from being able to cast media from a phone I find them to be extremely underpowered and low performance.
@@TheHookUp no ads and ppl generally preferring the Google software experience, also im specifcally talking about the "with google tv" versions that come with a remote and full tv user interface
I'll check again, but I'm almost positive that neither the 1080 ($20) or 4K ($50) versions of the chromecast with google TV support framerate matching, which is a total dealbreaker for me. The 1080p version also has an extremely underpowered processor leading to a laggy unpleasant navigation experience, especially with non-standard apps.
Hello @The Hook Up can you review: NEBULA Mars 3 I would like to get into portable projectors and I'm not sure where the best place is to start I don't mind getting a power bank but i also don't mind splurging on a nice quality projector thanks!!!
Great video as always ... I'm currently using the Vankyo Leisure 530W, streaming from a Chromecast - Google TV 4K dongle.... What would be the setup options to optimize colors etc with the chromecast ?
If there's a setting on the Chromecast to set to RGB Limited use that, and then setup the brightness and contrast using this video. Last time I used chromecast there was no option to disable HDR, but they might have added it.
@@TheHookUp Thanks for your quick reply... Would that be actual, even if the projector is a native 1080p ? I tried to adjust the display settings on the Chromecast, and it is possible to chose between various RGB modes, as well as YCbCr modes in 8, 10, and 12 bit. And I tried switching it to RGB 8, then adjusted the brightness, constrast, etc according to your test pictures in the video, and it seemed like the blue hues got more washed out in the 8bit RGB setting than the YCbCr settings... But I also found out that in the picture settings (user settings) it's not possible to adjust the tint, so I've written the manufacturer to ask how come it's not possess to utilize all the options in the user settings.
Not all over the place. Best under $75: Happrun, Best under $150: Groview. The Groview is significantly better than the Happrun, but it's twice the price.
Using the Happrun with a Roku device, is there a known working way to control the projector with the roku remote? looking for on/off. I dont see the yaber option
Hi, could you recommend me best projectors under 1600 USD, for me, system and sound doesn't matter because a i have an Amazon 4k stick and two speaker, but image quality does, and that's my priority. Thanks for your videos and reviews.
I picked up a YABER Pro V9 when heavily discounted (I think it was $180), its got great auto focus and keystone. I'd love to see your opinion of it against the Groview.
I had been watching the Groview since I saw the recommendation. But the Yaber pro v9 has similar advertised specs plus auto focus and keystone. Of course the day after I ordered the Groview dropped cheaper but I'm happy. I was very sceptical of projectors, but now I've taken down my TV and am shopping for screens.
Hi! Thank you for this. I just bought a Happrun H1 based on your suggestion. I have a few questions though. (1) My keystone doesn't move all the way. I don't see my screen tilting like yours did in the video. Should it move freely like the focus knob? (2) My screen is not perfectly rectangle, it's an upside down trapezoid. How can I change this? and (3) the edges of the screen are fuzzy. I've focused the middle though. It's brand new as of today. Am I still not focusing it correctly?

What would you use as your source, just the built in apps?
I've used my PC and SteamLink (1080) as sources so far. @@TheHookUp
Try the Vankyo profiles also. I believe Yaber updated their profile code.
@@TheHookUp Vankyo actually isn’t there😔
May just have to use two remotes. Thanks for the response though 🫶🏽
i think going with one of the chromecast with google tv's is a better option then a firestick
Hello @The Hook Up can you review: NEBULA Mars 3
I would like to get into portable projectors and I'm not sure where the best place is to start I don't mind getting a power bank but i also don't mind splurging on a nice quality projector thanks!!!
Did that review at the beginning of December: th-cam.com/video/yvtpArSHXeU/w-d-xo.html
I am not able to understand how you setup ur brightness and contrast
8 Bit YCbCr is what you want. RGB is probably RGB Full.
So I like this guy but he’s all over the place is the the Hvron or the groview that’s the best one
Not all over the place. Best under $75: Happrun, Best under $150: Groview.
The Groview is significantly better than the Happrun, but it's twice the price.
ultimea apollo p40 from last year
That one will be included
@@TheHookUp
Where? Is it worth to but or not?
Using the Happrun with a Roku device, is there a known working way to control the projector with the roku remote? looking for on/off. I dont see the yaber option
Manufacturers need to add the option themselves, so Yaber or some other company needs to submit them. See if Wimius is an option.
Hi can you please test the Yaber K2s?
Yes, it will be in the video.
Hi, could you recommend me best projectors under 1600 USD, for me, system and sound doesn't matter because a i have an Amazon 4k stick and two speaker, but image quality does, and that's my priority.
Thanks for your videos and reviews.
Formovie X5.
Also I recommend to turn off noise reduction, it’s useless and gives a soft image
I picked up a YABER Pro V9 when heavily discounted (I think it was $180), its got great auto focus and keystone. I'd love to see your opinion of it against the Groview.
Yaber's got some crazy stuff coming out at CES this year, I think I heard something about a 1500 ANSI lumen LCD projector.
I just bought the Pro V9 at $120. Comes in next week. Might pick up a Groview 818c to compare it against too
I had been watching the Groview since I saw the recommendation.
Sounds like the keystone is broken. I'd return it asap.
@@ScooterDano Thank you for your help. I will!
If anyone experienced audio lag while connected to the echo dot as a speaker please let me know what the solution was to this problem.
