- This video shows an interesting tour to a Himalayan Jungle in search of some herbs ..Himachal Pradesh is bestowed with rich biological diversity. Himachal Pradesh has a great altitudinal range (300-7,000 m), with varied habitats, species, populations, communities and ecosystems. There are more than 3,400 different species of angiosperms are reported to be found in the state. More than 1,000 species have been documented as medicinal and aromatic for the states occurring in Shivalik ranges, temperate forests, sub-alpine and alpine pastures. Majority of the population in the state lives in the villages and belong to diverse cultures and communities, with specific traditional knowledge. In the remote areas, especially high altitude area of the state is devoid of modern medical facilities and therefore rural and tribal people mainly depend on local medicinal plants. Herein we compiled 230 species belonging to 66 families of wild plants (186 herbs, 25 shrubs, 11 trees and 8 climbers) used by the tribal/rural people dwelling in the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh. Out of these, 45 species falls under critically vulnerable and endemic categories.
I went the jungle with my uncle who has good knowledge of herbs .. we found many herbs that are being used by villagers for many years ..

लेकिन मुझे जो बात सबसे अच्छी लगी वो ये है कि आप जैसे लोग कितने खुशनसीब हैं जो हिमालयन रीजन में प्रकृति की गोद में जिंदगी का आनंद ले रहे हैं।
हमारा भी दिल करता है कि हम भी प्रकृति की गोद में जीने का आनंद ले सकते तो कितना अच्छा होता। मेरा तो पूरा प्लान है कि बुजुर्ग पैरेंट्स की सेवा कर अपना कर्ज और फर्ज अदा कर दूं तो फिर घर से निकल जाऊंगा अजनबी राहों पर प्रकृति की गोद में खुद को समर्पित करने।

This vlog needs to be showed to our young generation, teenagers. We will feel proud of our rich culture, knowledge of herbs (Ayurvedic knowledge) and our heritage.
At times we should not think of scientists and doctors as well dressed English speaking scholars. Our village people indeed have great knowledge of forest herbs and delicacies.
Not knowing scientific name does not mean they have not knowledge about medicinal plants and their uses in various ailments. For once we have to put aside our biases and learn from them with open and receptive mind. This is the best of the vlogs aimed at both laymen and researchers having interest in Ayurveda to explore, analyze, experiment and catalogue various herbs.
