Tbh it is amazing that Sonic is now dominating with so many characters. And I think the reason this happened is because of how dirty NRS did Erron Black. Erron Black was Sonic's favorite character and they nerfed him multiple times into the ground until he was no longer even competitively viable, even though no one else in the pros really used Erron Black. This forced Sonic to start using multiple characters like Kitana, Tanya, Cassie Cage, Jason, Predator, and Alien. Now its a part of his arsenal big time in IJ2. It just goes to show you can turn any situation to your advantage with ingenuity and hard work. Obvsiously you have to have the skills but in the end all it did was make the fox stronger than ever.

Yeah and I think NRS has learned alot from MKX. This game is actually pretty well balanced despite the complaints. Most of the cast is viable in a lot of different situations. Of course you have characters like Swamp Thing, Joker, Grodd, and Cyborg, Blue Beetle who don't have alot of options at all(Swamp thing, Joker) or have bad damage (blue beetle). But Majority of the characters are viable and in tournament you see a variety of characters used.
Lets be honest, When you think of fighting games getting hype. Do you think of hard zoning or serious block pressure and rushdown?? Fighting games much like boxing is a spectators sport, if you watch it and its all about zoning nobody is gonna wanna watch it.
I really enjoy watching SonicFox play. He's a really great example of how fun watching fighting games can be - some "pros" get by with cheap spamfest characters, but thank God SonicFox is there to mop up that trash.
I so suck at this game. My greatest regret in life is never taking fighting games seriously when I was coming up. I love playing them but I'm absolute hot garbage. Now I have to take pleasure watching others excel at them.
