I know you check the first few comments when you post a video. I’ve been waiting to tell you just how much you and your stories have been apart of my sobriety! Two years ago after getting out of rehab I went to sober living. My freedom was limited one night I stumbled across your video paradise pine. From that night every night I listened to a story religiously every night. Being that I was new to sobriety and had to rid myself of all people places and things I became lonely when I had a craving I turned on your story, when I couldn’t sleep because my guilt kept me awake you and your stories were always there. I just want to thank you for helping me get through that part of my life. I love and appreciate your craft, can’t wait to hear this new one!
    Love, Jay❤️

I am speechless. This was so damn good. I seriously need to commend you, this was just like a movie. As someone who is legally blind and is a fan of the creepy and unsettling, TH-camrs like you are a godsend. Thank you so much for making such phenomenal content

I was about to ask how a legally blind person can type this, but I'm just happy there are blind people who can enjoy Dark Somnium's audio readings.
Makes me wonder if the same can hit home for deaf people, too (other than just being able to read the original writing from the source material if they can).

Hey Mister mayo, to answer your question about how a legally blind person can type out a reply on a TH-cam video, I can't speak for every visually impaired person, but I personally use the accessibility option on my cell phone. I think it's a feature on most smart phones, and without it reading back the words I type out I wouldn't really be able to use my phone at all. Hope this helps

      @@samanthamorgan2188 It actually does!
I mostly wondered since it probably would take time trying to not accidentally tap the wrong thing while typing a reply or scrolling. I never knew many impaired people in my life, so learning from those who are helps me to better understand and stay respectful. And It makes me feel better knowing there are more ways for everyone to enjoy the same thing no matter who they are.

Not my first historical Zombie apocalypse story as it were. This was very well done. Jane Austin and Zombies got boring after the novelty wore off. This story was engaging throughout. Loved the turn at the end. It wasn’t unexpected, but it had a nice cyclical natural feeling. The production was very well done as always. Thanks for the great story.

When it changed up to Marie’s perspective it really hit hard. Her unyielding faith to her man even as she knows it’s their final hour is just something else. When she said “the boys are throwing in everything they got. But it’s not enough” hit deep. A fight to the bitter end. A nice change of pace when it comes to creepy pastas. Not to mention tanks, gunship, fighter jets, drones, and many other modern weaponry that can annihilate zombies with ease. You're basically reading journal entries written by one man, so you're reading them all in one voice. I think this works perfectly for the way the story is written. I say someone else comment about how you need to work on accents and shit 😂🤣😂🤣 obviously they haven't listened to a lot of your other stories!! As always, much love from SW Louisiana!😘

I especially love that you added the Zombie's sounds when they broke into the church! I think the craziest thing is that theres not only one character, but a whole Village involved. It truly gives the whole thing a big spike in seriousness and also adds to the thought that everyone in this war was scared extra hard. Couldnt express enough thanks for your stories! ❤❤❤

A sequel to this following on from the archaeologists reawakening the fever would be great. The infected aren't often given this level of intelligence so it would be cool to see how things played out in a modern setting.

Sir Dark I hope that you're in the movie! As for this story I can never get enough of your narrations! This one was extremely dark especially the end part when he mentions the one infant it gave me the chills. You keep putting out these bangers and I'll keep throwing your name around everywhere I go! Why do you gotta do this to us 😭😭 I don't normally like the "alien abduction" and "zombie plague" stories etc, bc I don't normally feel emotion towards them, but MAN do you breathe life into every inch of every narration you do! First you made me well up with tears at the bit Maria wrote, just to extend existentialism on me with the ending.
Just like the "thing in the basement is getting better at mimicking" story, I predicted the ending of this story... and, just like that other story, the ending still sent a shiver down my spine regardless of the prediction AND the cliche feeling of the ending... this is going in my "favorites/best" playlist!
Also, this story gave very big "All This For What" and "What I Cannot Know" vibes and I'm here for it

  • @rbfilms4752
    @rbfilms4752 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I liked the story, although there's a few mostly nitpicky details that don't really make sense to me:
    - The story is set in the 1829 but acts like Pennsylvania was on the American frontier.
    - If "Andersonsburg" is really a town in West PA, I don't understand the focus on Philadelphia as the place to go get help. Cities such as Pittsburgh and Buffalo and Harrisburg are closer.
    - There hadn't been any Iroquois attacks in the state for decades by then.
    - How on Earth did they stop the infected the first time? If many towns were supposed to be overrun and even the state militia took casualties trying to get there, why did no one else write about this event? Why is the world normal?
    And the biggest one...
    - Why is the modern part of the story framed as an "expedition"? If the ruins have been intact for 200 years, no one found them until now? Like, it's an old town settled along a road in the 5th most populous state in the US. It's not some lost city in the Amazon jungle.
