    I’m a KMU student, Korean ppl like the quiet atmosphere in the Dormitory, we don’t have a party like in the Europe dorm. It is a cultural difference. Curfew exists because of safety reasons. These rules apply to every dorm in Korea. Be aware if you are coming to Korea

      Not every European dorm has party people, I also enjoy the quiet at home. I did have some room mates in the past from several countries, not just Europe, who liked to party more than I. So I’d say it’s a cultural difference but also depends on the person. And I’d say my Korean friends went to drink and party more outside compared to back home or at the dormitory, which apart from being a rule, I think is good because it should be quiet when other people want to sleep and maybe have plans early the next morning 🤗 When my Korean buddy studied in Germany, I don’t think there was ever a party at her dormitory building.. 🤔 Please don’t think all places in the whole of Europe party a lot at the dorm 🙏🏻

      Susanne Everywhere are/where you there for the winter semester? Is winter better than summer as it gets very hot in summer? And how is the air pollution? Greetings

      Shu C. I was there for the fall/winter semester which starts in September and ends with the finals just before Christmas. September is still quite hot, it was over 30°C at the beginning of the semester and around 0°C by the end of it. The hottest months are probably July and August and summer vacation starts at the end of June, so I don't think it makes much of a difference with the heat but you won't have the cold during the spring semester. Also the campus will look amazing with those Cherry Blossoms blooming ;)
      The air is not bad, there is mountains all around Daegu, just sometimes at night there is a weird smell from the sewers if you walk over those manhole covers in the city..

      Susanne Everywhere And how would you describe the school life there, do expats speak with koreans if you speak some korean or do you usually hang out with foreigners only?

    • @SusanneEverywhere
      @SusanneEverywhere  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shu C. I would say it depends on the classes you have - most of my classes had only foreign students in them but the classes for business administration for instance consisted of both foreign and Korean students, so you have a lot more chances to interact with them. I hung out with both Korean and foreign students but I definitely knew more Foreign students, since our whole floor in the dorm had only foreign students and because of my classes. It also is mostly up to you - some people weren't interested at all in learning Korean so they naturally hung out with foreigners most of the time. If you make an effort to get to know Korean students too and break free from the foreign-students-only-bubble you will make both Korean and foreign friends ;)

    I intended to come there in the future, what can i live here? :'(

      I knowww some rules are really confusing, I guess they made them when the dorms were first built and just never updated them? But it's really not hard to find a one room apartment around campus there though and they're not that much more expensive than the dorm I stayed in. And you will definitely have more freedom 😅

      Don’t worry, if you go to Keimyung there is a buddy programme for all international students. You will get the contact information of your buddy before you come to Keimyung and I’m sure they can help you with finding an apartment 🙂

    You get evicted for singing loudly but if you bring a knife in you don't. That's jacked up.

    Is it possible to rent an apartment that is nearby and affordable?

    • @SusanneEverywhere
      @SusanneEverywhere  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes totally! It’s actually quite easy to find a place if you arrive a few days eary - but I didn’t know that.. depending on the size it’s not gonna be much more expensive than the dormitory (at least for girls because we pay more than boys..) but remember that you probably have to pay everything in advance in cash, eventually plus deposit! Your Korean buddy (there is a buddy system at Keimyung) can help you with finding a place

      there are so many rooms for rent nearby school,
      usually 350,000KRW/momth,
      excluded gas,electric,water.
      (these will cost about 30,000~50,000KRW/month)
      and actually you need to pay a deposit
      about 5million krw lol
