What are the differences between the V8 Sat Finder & the V8 Sat Finder Pro? How are the extra features used? This is for setting up a C&KU dish. Deciding if I need to buy the more expensive unit, so recommendations would be helpful.
Hi, how is the LNB powered? I am unable to find any voltage at the sat antenna connection. Indicating that this is why I am unable to find any satellites with V8 Pro. Please advise, thanks
I have the GT V8 - At first when I got it, I thought it was a pile of cheap stuff. It is but, it works! I could not get Galaxy 16- Transponder 12095 H - then I noticed I had the Skew on the LNB wrong. Wow did that make a huge difference. So in short the GT V8 Works for me and is cheaper then most portable satellite meters.
I'm still finding it hard tracking signals with this finder. Can't I edit the tp to the ones I use frequently so it doesn't keep showing me bellerinsat at first

I had all the analog stuff but never could find C Span analog . Now I know why. over the week end my china dual lnbf came and I already had the receiver arrive week earlier. Monday I went between back yard and studing websites got the Lnbf on. The china plaine jane lNBF did have an arrow for pointing it either 3 oclock or 12 o'clock . But I didn't see the arrow mostly because I was busy copying the 42 40 38 ect markings off my old lnb tube. there weren't any measurement I looked and looked. So that was on Mon. Tuesday I helped a friend of my wife's 18 year old boy not wanting to pay 850 for a shop to install brake 4 wh pads & ( 2 ) rotors on a 2014 dodge advanger. The hotest day of 2022 in Wi. Oh well/ Back on C band long awaited hook up. Each day I would get nothing For some reason , even though all the satellites all read W after the Sat. # I still wanted to look left off the south mark. That I looked at over and over. In the end on Friday the 13, I did changed the (S) mark like a 1/8 to 3/16 . after using one of the free apps for finding satellite's but It wouldn't work standing by the dish. I went out 50 to 75 feet and drove in a steel fence post using north on the app. Then went back to the dish and changed my South mark that little bit eyeing it up with that fence post I drove in instead of using a1/4 mile off tree. even thou web sites said to use my elevation plus the little half degree adjustment and then I was supposed to change something over 5 degrees to the dish frame circle. I wasted a lot of time on that and put it back to where it even measurement with the saddle The other thing I learned on Wednesday evening studing was the cheap dish finder doesn't work with just hooking hp one side from the lnbf. So neither the signal picture thing or the audio help you unless the blind scan is done. all though it was great to hear that rapid beep after finding about the furthest east satellite. 61w c band I used that to adjust my elevation just a degree less than the real one. Glad to tightned the bolt on that and never touch it again. I hope anyway. there so now i have south set, the elevation set. the first Satellite set I painted a line on my dish mover. I made it easy to move by taking the dish mover over to the welding table and welded those 9/16 bolt heads from the back side of the 3/8 bolts to the clamp backside so now to move the dish manually I leave one of the 2 bolts loose and leave a 3/8 ratchet and 9/16 socket right on the one all the time. when I found 63 c-band I new they were going to be all going west and that from 61 to 83 wasn't more that 1 1/2 inches away I found 131 but the in between 101w I wanted, the signal finder went off in the right area , but doing blind scans for a very long time on diff, sat. higher and lower . Was never able to get it. three hot days in the high 80's and 90's I almost gave up after readjusting the lnbf and tiny adjustment on south paint mark on pole. lowered elev a tad SO i had good luck on friday the 13 2022.

I will immediately write that the device is big garbage. All the results it measures are not shown exactly, but the deviations on DVB-T2 are around 15dBuV, on DVB-S2 around 12dBuV, and on DVB-C almost 20dBuV. The DVB-T2 receiver is totally non-selective so stronger 70dBuV signals prevent interference from other signals lower than 48dBuV. And the sensitivity of the DVB-T2 input is poor. This instrument is the first at which I could not measure such levels of signals, lower then 48dBuV. I'm not sure any firmware will be able to fix all this. There are problems with DVB-S2, there are 1000 problems.
Yeah, read about all the probs with this Meter on the FORUMS. So in my case,NOT needing the DVB-t,DVB-C,Cable,ATSC-C,Etc i think i will just go for the Finder V8 V2.I know it does NOT do H265/HEVC but it is less THAN HALF THE PRICE of the PRO.
@@skideric I joined the GT Media Forum and wrote it all down in more detail. This device is just rubbish. Totally unreliable measured values everywhere. DVB-T2, DVB-S2, DVB-C. When I compared these measured values with other such devices, I saw that it was useless. No Firmware will fix this. This Finder is simply a semi-finished product that was not allowed to go on sale until it was well tested. Wasted money.
@@agramcroatia4185 I don't care about the Measurements.Basically it's just a Mini GTMedia DVB-S2 Reciever that Does Exaclly what their FULL SIZE Boxes DO! Get HUNDREDS OF FREE TV Chans! Signal Strength On TP Menu Is Good Enough for me.Usually use Full Size Box & TV for Sat Setup, this Wayyyy EASIER!
@@skideric The problem with you is that you don't understand what this device is supposed to be used for. "Finder". This device should first and foremost be an instrument, not a TV. Far more people buy it for measuring, than for watching TV-SAT programs. Since it's my profession, I wanted to have something like this, but unfortunately it's totally useless. It's not just me who thinks that, but at least 80% of us. I could call it a toy for older children.

Yes
GT media V8 pro 2 finder released today..new version
I have also this satellite meter and i agree with you, and waiting next firmware update, maybe fix it.
Well done, bro! Thanx!
Please I need one
