Link is right about the soup kitchens. I've been *turned down* from volunteering because they had "too many" helpers. Been rejected for several years running. (If I were a truly fine person, I'd volunteer at other times of the year, but no...🤦♀️)

Depending on what insurance you have, you can get an Uber or a taxi called for you or an ncat can take you home. Some hospitals make it a courtesy to take their patients home if they can't get rides afterwards.

Usually they won't release you from the hospital unless you have someone to look after you. At least in Britain. When I have my lidocaine infusions I have to sign a thing saying I have someone who can watch me for 24 hours.
In America they'll roll your stretcher to the sidewalk before they let you stay even a minute past what your insurance deems acceptable, assuming you can afford the insurance to begin with. I wish this was an exaggeration.

I don't know about finished, but the 540 isn't a full circle and stops around Holly Springs on the west side and Knightdale on the east side :) I moved to Raleigh three years ago, so I don't quite know what was happening with it previously 🙃

If it was my dream job and there was no way of changing the date & it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity- yes I’d miss the wedding. If it’s a dream job it there is a chance of getting the job somewhere else the no I wouldn’t miss the wedding.

Yeah landing a dream job can be life-altering, even if it doesn’t “get press.” If it were going to change my life, I’d hope that my best friend would understand me missing one special day. I’d owe my friend something special though for understanding

Yeah this almost happened to me- my best man had to miss my rehearsal dinner last minute to go to an interview. I was 100% ok with it, I'd never want him to miss a good opportunity. And he got the job!
