As a spy main myself i understand why some spy mains are so agressive and toxic when it comes to people criticizing or making fun of their class. It mainly has to do with spy being so hard to put up with sometimes and when you finally make a nice play (lets say a nice trickstab or a big chainstab for example) people start with the whole facestab/interp shit even if it obviously wasnt. From experience ive noticed that alot of people hate spy and when u ask them to explain their reason they just simply dont know or say that its cuz soundsmith said so or smth. So most spy mains that take the game seriously just adapted this cope mechanisms and fail to spot the difference between a joke or a troll and a genuine opinion. Its becouse they are so used to people treating spy mains and in general the whole spy community like shit as if they are all the same. There are toxic spy mains that just spam dr and kunai all day and think they are the best but there are also many exceptions so it saddens me to see people hate on everything spy main related. As a old spy main with a 20 year old/10K hour account, I 100% endorse the phrase, "play a useful class" in regard to spies. Spy should not be played by anybody that does not have the absolute compulsion to play it. It's a bad class that will drive you crazy even if you love it. Loving spy is like loving being kicked in the balls several times a day. Almost any other playstyle is more useful and less frustrating.
Real, it gets exponentially more difficult to get anything done with spy against very high level players (like above 5k real hours). Most spu mains are in it for love of the game but tying your ego to your skill level in tf2 is a fools errand but spy mains tend to have the most ego because of the underdog narritive associated with maining spy

I’d pocket him regardless, not just because of “Omg famous youtuber guy!” obviously, but of course, that is also one of the reasons, I can’t lie, but it isn’t just because of that, it is also because he is extremely good at the game to the point that he can destroy cheaters with skill alone, and that is extremely admirable and honorable. And yeah, it is also fun to pocket him when he’s doing stupid strats too for sure. And there is also the fact that I am trying to second main Medic, so it’d be nice to see how I do and if I can keep up with a true TF2 veteran.

People really don't understand that melee hits have a higher random crit chance than other weapons. At like the worse or best times I will just get that lucky crit on my melee.
When playing revolver spy you can make a config/script that makes you disguise when you shoot. bind "mouse1" "+attack; disguise 8 -1" This turns you into opposite team spy. Scout could be better due to the inaccurate hitbox that shows for the opposite team. bind "mouse1" "+attack; disguise 1 -1" ^^ This is the scout one. For revolver spies this is a no brainer script in my opinion.
@@hussar7733 Oh wow didnt know that. This script removes disguise if you ever need knockback to escape: bind "q" "disguise 8 -2" Sometimes taking no knockback could also be beneficial. I also forgot to mention that you cant push cart if you cant leave your disguise, so i recommend using the script that removes disguise if youre ever gonna use auto disguise script.

As a spy main myself i understand why some spy mains are so agressive and toxic when it comes to people criticizing or making fun of their class. It mainly has to do with spy being so hard to put up with sometimes and when you finally make a nice play (lets say a nice trickstab or a big chainstab for example) people start with the whole facestab/interp shit even if it obviously wasnt.
From experience ive noticed that alot of people hate spy and when u ask them to explain their reason they just simply dont know or say that its cuz soundsmith said so or smth. So most spy mains that take the game seriously just adapted this cope mechanisms and fail to spot the difference between a joke or a troll and a genuine opinion. Its becouse they are so used to people treating spy mains and in general the whole spy community like shit as if they are all the same. There are toxic spy mains that just spam dr and kunai all day and think they are the best but there are also many exceptions so it saddens me to see people hate on everything spy main related.

As a old spy main with a 20 year old/10K hour account, I 100% endorse the phrase, "play a useful class" in regard to spies. Spy should not be played by anybody that does not have the absolute compulsion to play it. It's a bad class that will drive you crazy even if you love it. Loving spy is like loving being kicked in the balls several times a day. Almost any other playstyle is more useful and less frustrating.
Real, it gets exponentially more difficult to get anything done with spy against very high level players (like above 5k real hours). Most spu mains are in it for love of the game but tying your ego to your skill level in tf2 is a fools errand but spy mains tend to have the most ego because of the underdog narritive associated with maining spy

For me I just like playing stealthy. It's how I play any game that gives me the option. When I play engineer, I ninjaneer. Sneaky heavy, sneaky demo, bonk scout, etc. It's just my style of play, and I am sure their are others like me.

I’d pocket him regardless, not just because of “Omg famous youtuber guy!” obviously, but of course, that is also one of the reasons, I can’t lie, but it isn’t just because of that, it is also because he is extremely good at the game to the point that he can destroy cheaters with skill alone, and that is extremely admirable and honorable. And yeah, it is also fun to pocket him when he’s doing stupid strats too for sure.
And there is also the fact that I am trying to second main Medic, so it’d be nice to see how I do and if I can keep up with a true TF2 veteran.

When playing revolver spy you can make a config/script that makes you disguise when you shoot.
bind "mouse1" "+attack; disguise 8 -1"
This turns you into opposite team spy. Scout could be better due to the inaccurate hitbox that shows for the opposite team.
bind "mouse1" "+attack; disguise 1 -1"
^^ This is the scout one.
For revolver spies this is a no brainer script in my opinion.
Nah when disguised you take no knockback which can be detromental in escaping sometimes. That's kinda dumb imo. It shouldn't apply when invisable

Sometimes taking no knockback could also be beneficial.
I also forgot to mention that you cant push cart if you cant leave your disguise, so i recommend using the script that removes disguise if youre ever gonna use auto disguise script.
