Ive just started lure fishing like last year started off fishing off ss pier carching coleys sandeels and mackerel but have to use public transport most of the time id love to catch a cod on a spinner i seen someone catch one on daylights last summer but my pride and joy is cod fishing in the autumn and winter mostly off the tyne like smiths dock st peters basin and the jury like i said i use public transport from newbiggin hall so its a bit of a mission lol you do it because you love the sport 1983 i started im 55 know so that my story . I enjoyed your vid very interesting also you said you were a moderator for wsf so you would no of the bykerfisher George tweedy who was always on there and sadly passed away a few years ago i was his fishing pal
Fantastic richard its obvious from your post you love 💘 your fshing....at high tide if you cast into the river side from the end clearing the rocks with a heavy spinner...you will catch codling to lures...give it a go just as the tide eases you may get a nice surprise

haha what a cracking name love it 😀...glad you enjoyed the video...all the tips i can give you are in the video...getting down to the marks island another matter quite scary tbh and you must be kitted out for it....best thing i can say is go with someone who has been before first...Eyemouth is also a great spot anywhere along the golf course can be good and its easier
@@MrRw59 I make my own i buy the studs you can find them oinline supatrack 3000A size studs you want you also need a tool you can also buy from supatrack to screw them in. you want 10 studs for each boot and i just buy a good walking boot or safety boot from sports direct....you can make your own for about 50 quid...alternatively if you just want to spend rock grip boots are good but expensive....if you are from the uk you can get in touch with me on Facebook and I can send the tool to your adddress as long as you send it back

Excellent jv what a session that was down st abbs..Was that the mark just under the lighthouse and u need to make the leap of faith over the rocks and if u fell down u're history . The bad step a think it's called?..anyway they cod u're catching now in June on metals are better than the ones that are getting caught in winter time lol..anyway well done cracking wrasse aswell be going there very soon to try out u're jigging technique and that well done and all the best ma man keep it up and look forward to many more great vids cheers
Nah the first time a went to that mark a nearly shit maself just thought of all my family and kids looking down that deep gully thinking if a fall here or slip am a gonner man..but there was 2 of us so went for it jumped over safe and went down caught a few Pollock and coleys ..but it started to cloud over and spitting with rain so sais to ma pal am outta here before these rocks get slippy..but like your style JV u're always into fish everywhere u go class man . That last vid the wild camping a wanna go there so bad for a nights fishing dnt know where it is though never will a guess

Yes robert that rod will work 💪 but you will struggle to get the fishes head up and away from snags especially if they are around the 5lb mark or larger....sounds like fun anyway it will be great fun for wrasse
@@dongle_dangler i do prefer a rod that will cast a heavy 60g lure to get a lure near the bottom and keep it there....your light rod and lures that come with it will be hard to keep near the bottom but not impossible to do

Hi Ian I use a sonic vader x 10ft 20 to 60g rod first time ive used it and very impressed reel is a shimano nexave 6000 loaded with 38lb berkley braid...any braid by berkley is amazing.. i then have a small power swivel tied to 3ft of 30lb mono to protect my braid...finally the lure is a 60g razorclaw silver minnow once called the zenith lure...these lures are fantastic wouldn't be without them
Hi Daniel theres a car park at the very start of the road that leads to the lighthouse it cost 3 quid all day....its fishing best just after first light or liow tide
Haha yes you do you have to go to the middle of the gap get yourself down as far as possible and step over its not a jump. having said that if you have a problem with heights its a no no Ive seen people bottle it at the last hurdle.

@@jamesaitken5921 still a decent chance however it will depend on calm seas...i normally head up if we have had a week or more of flat seas....sea temperature is still quite high but you will also need a clear sea the more like crystal clear gin the better... Ive not been up since August which is unlike me so im not totally sure how its been fishing....if you get a good weather window and its not too far for you to check out most certainly have a go I would
